Engine And Engine Cooling Problems of Buick Rendezvous - part 2

I write to report an occurrence of uncontrollable acceleration in a Buick Rendezvous. I rented the current model year Rendezvous from avis at lax airport on 5/14/05. That evening as I was accelerating to get on the freeway, the car accelerated uncontrollably. I immediately took my foot off the gas pedal, and put both feet on the brake, yet the car continued to accelerate. I noticed that even with both feet on the brake and pressing as hard as I could, the speed was increasing. Fortunately, at the on-ramp where I got on, the traffic was light, and there was approx a half mile where there was no traffic in my lane. I pulled to the right and was getting ready to turn the key off, since I could not otherwise slow the car down. After a total of 8 – 10 seconds, the throttle went back to its normal condition – ie the run away acceleration ceased. I spoke to the return agent at avis who assured me the car would be taken out of service. I write this note to make sure that avis knows what the problem was. I certainly could have caused an accident if there had been other cars near mine. I have owned my 2002 Buick rendevous since April of 04. Around may of 05 my a/c unit stopped working. I had it checked out and was told it was the a/c condensor unit. I was very surprised and disappointed that such a new model of vehicle would have issues so early on. Neeedless to say I was even more surprised to read and speak to other 02 rendevous owners who had the same problem. In my opinion I think Buick should step up to the plate and take responsibilty for producing a faulty a/c system. It seems very strange that so many different people are having the same issue with their vehicle. Any help you can give regarding bringing this to Buick's attention would be greatly appreciated. Several-failures, braking noise, front/rear tire wear, unsecured roof and top tail lamp. Steering wheel was noisy along with a thump roar and grinding, there was poor air flow circulation on the rear passenger side, the rack roof was unsecured and side rails, poor wear on the tires front/rear, rear wheel rubbing/grinding during normal operation, brake noises, poor idle and shuts off the engine, lack of air flow for passengers in the rear of the vehicle, and the right front passenger window black rubber seam buckled.

When attempting to start the vehicle power failed. As a result, vehicle became inoperative. Dealer could not duplicate the problem.

Transmission failure- replaced 12/04, wheel hub bearing failure-replaced 06/05, heating/ac problems since new 09/03, brake problems since new, window regulators replaced 2x's, hatch latch failure-multiple, parking brake failure 07/04-present, overheating 07/04-present.

The heater fans do not work properly. The dealer says the heater meets specifications but admitted that they had 4 other Buick Rendezvous' in the shop that day with the same complaint. I know two other people with a 2002 Buick Rendezvous who have the same problem.
