For the second time, the bolt that holds down the dohc rod backed out, and resulted in severe engine failure. Apparantly this is a known problem that results from heat over time. Buick has failed to ever issue a recall for this very expensive preventive repair issue. How can a manufacturer not issue a recall for this widely known issue with this vehicle. ??.

General motors 3. 4 liter engine failure at 83,000 miles. Front hub assembly failure driver and passenger side.

3 Engine Failure problem of the 2004 Buick Rendezvous

Failure Date: 02/11/2005

2004 Buick Rendezvous has had engine failure 3 - 5 times. At low speeds 0-15 mph, car will will cut off. The car restarts immediately once you put it back to park or neutral. I took the car to the dealer on one occasion but they wre unable to duplicate problem. I will take it to the dealer again and provide the similar complaints by other consumers.

4 Engine Failure problem of the 2004 Buick Rendezvous

Failure Date: 05/01/2004

2004 Buick Rendezvous has had engine failure three times. The vehicle would stall intermittently while driving. The first time the dealer replaced the fuel pump at 10000 miles. The second time the dealer replaced the crank position sensor at 11000. The vehicle stalled a third time at 12000 miles and was taken to the dealer. The dealer has not determined the cause of the failure. The consumer believes she should be give a new vehicle since the problem cannot seem to be permanently resolved.
