Automatic Transmission problems of the 2006 Cadillac CTS

1 Automatic Transmission problem

Failure Date: 03/22/2011

Transmition failiure due to faulty transcooler inside the radiator result in replacing transmition radiator and fluids.

2 Automatic Transmission problem

Failure Date: 06/17/2008

The contact owns a 2006 Cadillac Cts. While driving 60 mph at night, the vehicle shut off and lost total power. When the failure occurred, the vehicle continued to roll as if it were in neutral. There were no warning indicators prior to the failure. The contact feels that this is a safety hazard because it could have resulted in a serious crash. The vehicle was taken to the dealer twice for repair for the same failure in feburary of 2008 and June 17, 2008. The first time the cause of the failure was identified as a glitch with the computer switch that controls the transmission. At the second visit, the shop explained that they could not identify the failure. It would have to recur in order for them to diagnose the failure properly. The current and failure mileages were 43,000.
