Brake Abs Warning Light Problems of Cadillac CTS

Check engine light, steering tight when backing up or in tight spaces, door locks, suspension control and abs light was a recall on air bags that I dont see on the recall list now.

I have a 2006 Cts cadilliac and my abs light comes on and there have been several times my car wouldn't stop and I had to quickly put it in park not to have an accident.

Tl- the contact owns a 2004 Cadillac Cts. The contact stated that while driving, and while depressing the brake pedal to come to a complete stop, the brake failed, the contact had to engage the emergency brake to bring the vehicle to a complete stop. In addition, the contact stated that the steering wheel would shake at low and high speeds. The brake and abs warning lights intermittently illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the lower control arms failed, the ball joint was crack and both needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was later taken to central houston Cadillac dealer, located at 2520 main st, houston, TX 77002, (832) 431-5697, but was not diagnosed or repaired due to the diagnostic and repaired fees. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and opens a case number: 84781603741. The approximate failure mileage was 170,000. Aw.

Pulling out from my driveway in slow speed about 3 mph on reverse turning steering wheel left my radio show message "service brake assistance". Same time I lost the brake, traction control and abs light come on on the dashboard. Lucky this was low speed so car stops on my neighbor trash can. I don't want to think what will happen if the other car will drive by or someone will walk by. I am scare to drive now.

While very slowly turning into a parking spot my 2006 Cadillac Cts acted as though the abs was engaging and would not stop. I had to manually put the transmission into park to stop. This has now happened 4 times under similar scenarios. Each time this happens 'service brake assist' appears on the driver display and the t/c and abs lights come on. After the car has been shut off and then restarted the display is normal, dash light s are out and things work normal, until it does it again. I am in canada, but after researching this problem have found many, many similar incidences and felt adding to the list may help to engage gm to issue a recall.

The car will not stop when turning into parking spaces, coming up to stop lights or going down hills. When this started happening, I thought I just needed new brakes. I went to the mechanic and replaced my brakes and got new tires, but the issue continued. In order to stop, I have to put the car in park while it is rolling. I pump the brakes, but that does not help. I have almost rear-ended vehicles while coming to stop lights. I have almost ran into light poles while parking my car. I have rolled out into the street on numerous occasions because the vehicle will not stop. All of these examples happen sporadically but often. My traction light and abs light come on and I receive a warning on my dash stating "service brake assist". I have been very lucky so far that I have not been in or caused an accident, but I am extremely fearful that eventually this will happen.

While making a left turn into driveway brake pedal pulsated the service brake assist indicator came on the traction control and abs lights also came on, the car would not stop right then.

2005 Cadillac Cts. Consumer writes in regards to brake system repair issues. The consumer stated the brake failed and essentially she lost control of the vehicle, hit a guardrail and another vehicle after bouncing off the guardrail. Prior to the accident, work was performed on the abs dash light, several times.

The contact owns a 2006 Cadillac Cts. The contact stated that while driving 25 mph, the traction control and the abs warning lights illuminated. In addition, the braking system malfunctioned. The braking failure almost caused the contact to become involved in a crash. The contact shifted into park while the vehicle was still in motion in order to avoid crashing. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for inspection or repairs. The contact called the manufacturer and was advised that the rotors had likely become worn. The failure mileage was 120,000.

Pulling into a parking space at my childs daycare facility and my traction control light and abs light came on as vehicle was stopping and began to accelerate then came to a stop. To my understanding gm has not issued a recall or a fix.

The contact stated that while driving approximately 8 mph, the brake pedal was depressed but the vehicle failed to respond and the abs warning light would illuminate. The contact was able to stop vehicle by putting the vehicle in the park position. The independent mechanic was not able to diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000. Ne.

This has been a recurring intermittent problem when making a right braking turn at less than 5mph. The abs light comes on and the brake pedal goes to the floor and I have to pump the brakes very hard and press down very hard to stop the car otherwise I hit the parking space stop. Many people have posted the same experience with the 2006 Cts and they are told the same thing from the dealer that I was. They were not able to recreate the problem. I was told by the dealer that I had to replace the brake pads which another mechanic told me was not necessary since the pads still had 50% left on them. This is a big issue on this car and someone is going to get hurt.

Abs light comes on and vehicle will not brake at slow speeds while turning. Very dangerous!.

Abs brakes would kick in when attempting to park the vehicle at about 5 mph. The only way I could stop the car was to throw it into park or hit the emergency brake. It was happening about 2 times every month or two. Very randomly. I kept brushing it off until one day I almost hit a person. The abs and tc warning lights would come on the dash and then go away when restarting the vehicle. I then decided to take it to the Cadillac dealer and he told me that it was probably the abs sensors. This was on oct. 12, 2010. As it turned out, I had to replace the left front hub bearing assembly at a cost of $659. 41. The name of the Cadillac dealerwhere I had it repaired is faulkner Cadillac, 298 stoke park road, bethlehem,PA. . Phone # 610-867-4177. My customer on the receipt is #73324, and the invoice # is 1007398. The mileage at that time was 50,590. The repair date was oct. 12, 2010. Since I had it repaired, I haven't had any more problems. I'm sure that I'm not the only one having this problem and I think it should be looked into before someone gets seriously hurt. I took the car in and they let me go with the abs light on and the stability track light on. If I knew the that this car was undrivable with these safety fixtures out I would have never picked up the car.
