Four problems related to air bag have been reported for the 1998 Cadillac Deville. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The contact owns a 1998 Cadillac Deville. In September of 2003, the air bags deployed without an impact while driving 35 mph. There were occupants in the vehicle at the time of the failure. Gm repaired the vehicle; however, the air bags continued to deploy for no apparent reason. There was one injury. The purchase date was unknown. The current mileage was 177,040 and failure mileage was approximately 73,000.
While driving at 35mph on gravel road driver and passenger air bags deployed without warning.
Was told by dealer I could park car until April 2001 when a recall would be issued or sign a waiver and have air bags disconnected.
Consumer will complet information form concerning air bags side recall. The dealer does not have the part to be replaced for manufacturer recall.
