Car Stall problems of the 2000 Cadillac Deville

While driving at various speed, the vehicle intermittently stalled. Consumer towed the vehicle to the dealer, technician could not duplicate or correct the problem. Please provide further details.

Consumer stated that while driving the vehicle cut off. Once the vehicle stalled the driver lost all the power and could not steer vehicle to safety. This occurred on four separate occasions. Each time the vehicle was taken to a dealer/mechanic. The dealer replaced several components but the stalling condition still exist. .

Vehicle intermittently stalled. The dealer replaced the crank sensors which corrected the problem.

The vehicle stalled without warning. . . . . .

While driving 35 to 40 mph vehicle stalls and steering wheel locks up. Does not not have any warning when vehicle stalls. This happens intermittently. Contacted dealer, and dealer couldn't find anything wrong because problem has to be duplicated.

Vehicle has stalled on several occasions, consumer noticed that the engine wires was half an inch thick and the engine mounts were broken, which were possibliy causing vehicle to stall.

Serious fault with 2000 Cadillac Deville engine. The vehicle would stall as the vehicle entered traffic. The problem was diagnosed as a j4355 sensor/crankshaft position sensor, which was replaced on two occasions.

Dt: consumer states that the vehicle stalls at low rpm's. When this happens the power steering goes out. The dealership states that it is caused by failed crank sensors a and b. Consumer states that this has happened many times and he has replaced the sensors three times. The part numbers that replaced the parts the first two times were a 00012559529-b 00012559530 and the third time the part number a 00012575481-b 00012575482.

First time the car was started it bolted and I thought it was going through the wall,. Took it to the dealer and he said it takes 30 sec. To warm up before you put it into gear. Would be thrilled if it took 30 sec. It takes up to and over 2 min. Before rpm's are safe to engage. Terrible odor while driving on the freeway. Dealer says, with all complaints " thats the way the car was designed" this vehicle has a rough idle at some stop signs and has stalled several times. Will restart. All engine starts require at least 1 to 2 min before engine rpm's come down to 850 rpm. Otherwise the vehicle jumps, not jerks. Very dangerous situation.
