2 Brake Hoses, Lines/piping, And Fittings problem

Failure Date: 09/30/2014

On September 30, 2014, I was driving down the highway in my 2005 Cadillac Deville at the speed of 65 mph. I exit on to an exit ramp and stopped at a stop light. While at the light my brake pedal went to the floor. I tried pumping the breaks but the peddle kept going to the floor. I then realized I lost my breaks. The repair shop that repaired my brakes stated that the brake line going to the rear brakes rusted out in the middle of the car, which caused my brake failure. This repair cost me $572. 66 to run 2 new brake lines from the front of the car to the rear brakes. I was very lucky that the brakes failed while I was stopped and not trying to stop at 65 mph. I have an 84 chevy, a 98 Buick and a 2002 chevy and the only thing I ever did to the brakes was to replace them when they wore out. I am very interested in your explanation of why the brake line rusted out.
