Front Seat Power Adjust Problems of Cadillac Deville

Tl-the contact owns a 2004 Cadillac Deville. The contact stated that the front driver's side power seat moved forward independently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where they replaced the two power seat fuses. The same day after the repair was performed a burning odor and smoke emitted inside of the vehicle due to an electrical short circuit within the power seat. The dealer then removed the breaker. There were no flames present. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 130,000. Djr.

Cadillac Deville 1996. The contact stated that the electronic buttons that controlled the driver's seat, started to move in all different ways, upward, downward, and pushed the contact up against the steering wheel. When she tried to move the seat backward it would not move.

Power seat seatback goes down while driving. In December of 1999, dealer replaced memory module to remedy this problem. Since November of 2001 seatback will intermittently go down on it's own. Consumer also states more often then not, when you start the car the seat will move in several different directions. When the back goes flat it pins any passenger in the rear seat. Ph 09-Dec-2002.
