general problems of the 2007 Cadillac Escalade

I started the car and noticed a smell. Then my red battery light came on and a notification that my battery was not charging. I drove less than a mile and noticed smoke under my hood. I pulled over to a safe place and opened the hood to see flames around my alternator.

First it started out with the low oil pressure stop engine light had it check out by an independent service center. I was told what the problem maybe, purchase several parts for the SUV but that didn't solve the problem within 72hrs the low oil pressure light stop engine was back on and then this vehicle started cutting off and don't want to crank back again until several hours later. Had a second opinion from a different service center but that didn't work continue to do the same. - by this SUV cutting off in traffic and not cranking back -was told my mechanic from a service center that it could be the lifter in side the engine. -no -low oil pressure stop engine warning messages, check engine light. -traction control/stabilitrak light comes on and the major thing is the camshaft and bearings that cause the low oil pressure shut off engine warning light. . - when low oil pressure shuts off the engine light comes on it will cause your vehicle to stall and shut off wherever you at. . -independent service center - no just the independent service center worker - yes! start out with the traction control/stabilitrak light and then the low oil pressure shut off engine warning light. . Ii purchase the truck with the understanding it had only 124,946 miles. Two later I found thru car fox that the miles had roll back. In 2018 the miles 195000 then in 2019 175000 and 2020 no miles at all. Two days after purchase check eng lite and other lites came on.

Very comments issue. Camshaft snaps causing lose of power in highway.

Camshaft and bearings break affects oil pressure with no indication until it is to late and you have to replace the motor.

Takata recall---2007 Cadillac Escalade, stability light control comes on and off. Also triggers my engine light to stay on. Traction control light stays on as well. I have replace the timing chain, cam shaft, oil pressure sensor, new shocks, new compressor, and I keep the oil changed. Even the Cadillac dealer has went thru and thru this vehicle replacing all this stuff and thousands of dollars later, to still doing the same thing and they even said they have no clue of why it keeps doing this. I have had nothing but problem after problems with this Cadillac and something needs to be recalled to fix these issues not on the owners pocket. On gm's pocket. This vehicle is enough alone without having to continue sinking money after money it is to just try and fix this issue. Very disappointed in Cadillac's and this is my 2 one, but probably my last one because who wants to fork out 80,000 for a new one, to continue forking out with issues. These issues severely needs a recall before it takes peoples lives. Soon as these lights come on, and you give it gas, if feels like the transmission is going to fall out in the road. Jerks you everywhere. This is a daily problem, not just a one time issue.

Engine has rod knock like noise and gm says its carbon build up on the pistons have heard this noise on several Cadillac Escalades with the 6. 2liter engine from 2007 -2014 mine faisled as a result of this noise and and was ignored by gm corporation I am concerned for other with this same condition. This noise happened in the morning even after warm up on not after car has already reached its operation oil pressure. And would last for up to 5 minutes every time I started the vehicle and was more noticeable on cold mornings this was a motor with 70k miles on lt and was a 3 year , 100, 000 mile warranty motor.

I have the "service traction control" , "stabilitrak", "low oil pressure" lights keep coming on and engine is consuming quite a large amount of oil and is now knocking. After eliminating other areas, the mechanic has came to a conclusion that the knocking is from the result of a faulty push rod. I believe that I am the 3rd owner of the vehicle and the vehicle currently has 160,000+ miles. I am a 48 year old driver with 4 juvenile children and use the Cadillac primarily for family trips as I have a company vehicle to commute to and from work. Some of the reviews that I have read about the engine say that the engine is designed for high performance and longevity. And even though the miles that are currently getting high, I don't think that this engine has achieved it. The warning lights that I have listed have only came on when the vehicle was in motion.

Electrical problem.

Takata recall airbag inflators, have not yet been replaced. I received my recall notice in 2016 and have taken my vehicle to ron carter dealership in friendswood, TX where the vehicle was purchased, however, I was informed that the replacement part was not in and it will be indefinitely. The truck has a hard time accelerating when trying to keep speed or trying to go to a higher speed, also a noise is coming from the vehicle after I turn on the ignition. I was informed by ron carter Cadillac that I needed to file a claim once I receive the recall notice to fie a claim on or about 10/2017. I have been trying to get my vehicle recall taken care of since 11/2017 not to long after I purchased the vehicle approximately July 2017.

I been fighting this p0011 code for over a year. I've replaced the whole engine, sensors, ecm, and other things associated with this problem. This code can be anything. Doesn't make any sense for 100 things to be associated with 1 code. I've owned many vehicles and I honestly never experienced a problem like this. Costed me over 10k in diagnostics, parts, and labor. I'm not the only 1 with this problem. Very unfair. Cadillac should be responsible for this problem. This engine design has too many flaws!.

Escalade having same issues as everyone els. Oil pressure due to poor build and cut backs on general motors behalf. A unit with a price up words of $70-$80k should not have the issues. We as the customers and the victomes should not pay the price and our own lives (families lives) for a companies selfishness. Passenger seat controle module burnt due to yet another faulty gm product. They seam to not care and want to fix the issues that can again lead to harm to anyone in and around the vehicle. I still own this vehicle but it has been a utter disgrace of what kind of products we have been sold. To this day would like to know why the company recalls parts that would cousy them nickels and dimes and not the major items that can lead to disasters like death. For crying out loud they replaced my DE others dash. . . (dash). So replace a plastic dash that has no harm what so ever and OH don't mined if you truck catches on fire do to faulty modules. Shame how gm has let a company like Toyota who actually listens to the costumes seem like a more patriotic company and keeps their customers safe on the roads. Check engine , service traction control, stablilink and low oil pressure lights keep coming on. Dealer has had the truck trying to correct (or chase)the problem. They still are coming on. Dealer says it maybe the motor.

My vehicle engine light comes on and the gas needle bounces back and forth. When the needle bounces back and forth from full to empty the engine light in the dash will come on and may stay on for awhile but will then go off. When I put fuel in the tank the light will go off but once I start driving again it comes back on and the needle bounces back and forth. Engine mounts failed and potential for wiring harness to be stetched to the point to cause loss of many engine functions. Additionally the oil pan gasket has also failed. Was informed by dealer service advisor that these are common occurences in these vehicles.

2007 model Cadillac Escalade while parked in a garage, not driven for about 2 days caught fire all on its own and burnt down causing extensive damage to property and other vehicles.

The reverse mode, tilt down exterior mirrors failed to operate. In addition, the vehicle failed to respond when the accelerator pedal was depressed. The vehicle lurched forward unexpectedly. The failures occurred whenever the vehicle was in operation. The vehicle was taken to the authorized dealer for inspection and they stated that there was no program available to repair the reverse mirror failure.
