The contact owns a 2007 Cadillac Escalade. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 16v381000 (air bags); however, the part for the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. While driving approximately 65 mph, the contact crashed into a deer that ran out in the road. The deer struck the vehicle's windshield. The air bags did not deploy. The vehicle was towed. A police report was filed. There were no injuries. The vehicle was taken to a body shop and the bumper, fog lamps, tow bracket cover, air deflector, fan motors, and radiator were repaired.
