We have three cracks on our dash board. The car is garage kept and has never been in an accident and the cracks keep forming. We have had the car five years and every year another crack forms.

Interior dash crack , onstar system stop working.

Infotainment screen shows cracking, becomes unresponsive and clicks on it's own intermittantly. Renders all functionality including all radio/sound, navigation, projection, etc. . . Useless.

We are concerned about a safety issue with a cracked dashboard and deployment of the takata airbags. On January 8, 2019, two, long, wide cracks appeared in the passenger dashboard from the windshield vent toward the glove compartment. They were about 6' long. Beneath the cracks one could see a light tan, soft looking item. The next day a similar crack appeared on the driver dash. The vehicle was parked in the garage like it has been every day and night. It has about 72,000 miles; we are the 2nd owner and purchased it in 2009 with about 7,000 miles. Because the vehicle is listed as part of the takata airbag recall, we are concerned about the cracks and what may have caused them. Could it be a partial inflation? and will there be flying shards of plastic dash during an inflation of the bags. The car is listed in the NHTSA recall 16v381; manufacture recall number 2049151. The remedy is not yet available. On or about December 29,2016, gm offered to cover the estimated $1,082. 78 repair of a cracked dashboard in a 2011 GMC yukon denali in tate county, mississippi. The dashboard has cracked and researching the problem, I found that this is a common problem with gm vehicles my year model and after. The vehicle is garage kept and is not exposed to direct sunlight or extreme cold temperatures.

Dash on my Escalade has cracked in 3 different places and poses a hazard to occupants. Dealership says they are aware of dash cracks in that model as well as others but gm refuses to recall. This appears to be a manufacture defect in material used and should be addressed ASAP.

My dash has cracked. The vehicle has been garaged every day since I purchased it new in 2011 and has not ever been mistreated. This is obviously a defect in craftsmanship of the vehicle.

Dashboard is cracked to where the wiring is showing. Stabilitrak light comes on from time to time.

We purchased the vehicle in may and noticed the first crack a few months later and this morning Feb 16 2017 I see the 2nd crack. I am afraid if I have a wreck, the piece is going to fly off and damage airbag or slice the face of the driver. Please fix this issue!!!! the vehicle was stationary when cracks formed.

Cracked dash- driver's side, completely cracked and separated, from steering wheel side to windshield. Cracked in second place a few days ago, off the main crack. Very flimsy material and creates a noise when driving.

My dashboard is cracking on both ends and the stability control has gone out twice.

Crack on front dash appeared a couple of years ago. Was told it was a common problem but no recall. Today I now have three cracks and an estimate of almost $400 to replace the part. In a quick look online this problem appears to be very common. I know there is a push to have gm replace this part at their expense as it appears to be defective. Something I agree with and am in favor of.

Cracked dash - the dash is cracked and every model 2007-2011 that was made has a cracked dash. The new replacement dashes from gm now have reinforcements that the original equipment do not have. In the event that the air bag is deployed it would cause the plastic dash to fly around the driver and passenger compartment causing possibly fatal wounds!.

The contact owns a 2002 Cadillac Escalade. On September 3, 2007, the contact plugged her television into the cigarette lighter and the vehicle began smoking. The vehicle then became engulfed in flames. Her husband doused the vehicle with water and drove it to the Cadillac dealer. The carpet was burned, the tracking system failed, and the wiring harness had to be replaced. The purchase date and powertrain were unknown. The current and failure mileages were 48,000.
