Tl the contact owns a 2012 Cadillac Escalade. The contact stated that the factory rims were misshaped and caused the tires to deflate weekly and lose tire pressure daily. The tire pressure gauge was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the contact's home and then taken to naperville Cadillac (1507 ogden Ave, naperville, IL 60540, (630) 355-2700) where the mechanic stated that four new rims needed to be installed. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 69,279.

The consumer decided to go with a much less expensive replica version. However, the replacement rims appeared to be of significantly less quality than the original rims. When the consumer hit a pothole, part of the rim sheared off. The original rims were stamped gm USA and the replacement rims were stamped gm india.

The aluminum rims corroded, causing the tires to deflate. There was air leaking from around the valve stems. This happened at least 3-4 times. The most recent occurrence was on 8-8-05. The tires have not been changed, but they have been rotated. There were no other known problems with the vehicle. . The vehicle was leased.
