Front suspension required replacement due to excessive wear on the control arms. Code p0017 generated by computer indicating need to replace timing chain. Vehicle currently at 90,000 miles.
Tl- the contact owns a 2010 Cadillac Srx. The contact stated that the previous owner heard an abnormal noise coming from the front of the vehicle upon operating the vehicle or making a turn. The vehicle was taken to the dealer more than twice and they were not able to replicate and diagnose the failure. The contact indicated that upon owning the vehicle the noise continued and that upon inspecting the vehicle it was noticed that the bushings were twisted and dry rotted. The dealer was notified of the failure and did not provide a diagnosis to repair the vehicle. The contact heard an abnormal noise while making a turn and operating the vehicle as well and as a mechanic he purchased the part from the dealer and replaced the front lower control arm bushings and the vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and they provided no remedy. The approximate failure mileage was 56,000. Dyd.
