My lights on low beam are so dim I can't drive at night. I can't see they are so dim they are cloudy. Cadalliac dealer says it's a defect in light from moisture and I have to replace the whole assembly and with the same defective light. It will happen again. Gm should recall these and fix the problems. They know there's a problem but refuse. The power transmission has a hesitate in it sometimes in first gear taking off.
We recently purchased this car. We love it, the only problem is the low beam headlamps. We live in a very rural area, so there are no street lights of any kind in our area. The dealership where we purchased the car from were very nice and replaced the bulbs in the car and it did not make one bit of difference. The low beams are so bad that you can not see at night, at all. My husband almost hit a tree the other night because he could not see it. There is already a lawsuit with gm over the headlamp issues in California and florida for the 2011-2015 Srx. While gm is concerned with their customers or so they say, they are not offering any assistance with fixing this issue because there is no active recall. To me that says, "we are not going to spend all that money on recalls, we would rather payout on wrongful death suits". Which is clear by the class action suit in California and florida. My question is "how many people have to die before a recall is issued over the low beam headlamps"?.
Passenger side low-beam headlight is very dim. Replaced bulb and headlight is still very dim. Reflectivity seem to be almost nil inside the headlamp assembly.
We purchased a used 2013 Cadillac Srx on April 8, 2019. We picked the vehicle up from the dealer at approximately 6pm and proceeded to drive it home. Upon turning on the headlamps, we were unsure if they were actually on. The road in front of us was still dark compared to the other vehicles around us. I got out of the vehicle and assessed that the headlamps were on, just not very bright. We drove the vehicle home and researched to try and find a solution. It became obvious from comments by other Cadillac Srx owners, that this is indeed a problem. We are now forced to drive with our high beams on at night and are constantly having to dim them for oncoming traffic. It seems like replacing the headlamps with the factory replacement is not the answer as those headlamps would be the same as we now have in our vehicle. This problem needs to be resolved by Cadillac. Love the car, but am afraid to drive at night. We do not want to cause an accident or become a statistic.
Tl-the contact owns a 2013 Cadillac Srx. The contact stated that while driving after dusk, the headlamps were inadequate to illuminate the roadway. The contact stated that the headlamps were extremely dim. King o'rourke Buick GMC, 756 smithtown bypass #102, smithtown, NY 11787, (631) 240-0639, was contacted by phone and informed of the issue. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and informed of the failure. The contact was also informed that California and florida residents were reimbursed for replacing the headlamps in full due to litigation however, other states did not fare as well. The approximate failure mileage was 88,000. Ah.
Dims are so dim you can't see. Need to drive on high beams at all times!.
The low beam head lights or very dim can not see at night driving , it really bad I live in south carolina we don't have many street light on our roads. I wish someone would drive these cars that on the bad light list.
Driving at night is a nightmare, especially in the rain. Every night I have found myself struggling to see the road. I have to count on the rear lights of the vehicle ahead of me. Rural roads are the worse. I have a Cadillac because of the safety and well crafted engineering, but this safety issue is going to kill someone. Why isn't there a recall???.
The headlamps are defective and do not provide adequate lighting at night. I replaced the bulbs on 1/3/2020. The issue is not the bulbs it's the lamps. I would like to have the lamps replaced by Cadillac.
I have a 2013 Cadillac Srx the low beams are so dim you cannot see five feet in front of the car! there have been tons of other people with the same Cadillac and same exact problem. They will not do a recall and this is a serious safety issue driving at night. There has to be somehow to get gm to fix this issue before someone gets seriously injured! I am having to try and replace these poorly designed lights that do not provide enough safe road visibility with after market headlamps. I do not believe I should be required to pay for these replacement lights but I do not want any of my family members to die in a crash caused by these oem lights. Gm should setup a nationwide recall on all of these vehicles fitted with these lights.

Lighting assembly is completely out on vehicle. I can only drive with bright lights on. I have went off the road several times, due to lighting. I have had several checks from Cadillac and was told I need to replace the entire lighting assembly, but is a waste because it will go out again in a couple of months.
The low beams have a very low output. I have replaced the bulbs with the highest output bulbs the auto parts store has which did not improver the low beam output. This makes it very dangerous driving at night. I have to use my bright lights to see at night. This is a constant problem and it does not mater what type of road or if the vehicle is moving.
I am noticing that my head lights are very dim on my 2013 Srx Cadillac, feeling very unsafe to drive at night.
Driving with the lights on at night is like driving with no lights on, very dim and dangerious at night have to drive with lights on bright to see, which is bad for oncoming traffic. . Went to dealer and they told us that the only option is to replace the whole light assembly at 1100$ but would not say that it won't happen again.
My 2013 Srx has dim light can hardly see at night unless I put on high beams. Cadillac has paid some customers to have this fixed. They are just giving other effected customers the run a round. The in any beam lights are not adequate at any time.
About a month ago I noticed the low beams on my vehicle are very dim. They are so dim I have gotten out of my vehicle to ensure that they are even on. They are on but I cannot see more than 5ft in front of me while driving at night. It is very scary and dangerous how dim they are. Sometimes I turn on my high beams to see at night but this is also dangerous to other drivers.
I have a 2013 Cadillac Srx with the same problem. How do I join the class action suit?.
Low beam head lights are very dim. I have pulled over to look at the head lights to see if they were even working. I cannot drive it at night as I cannot see. If I must drive it, I have to use the high beams and oncoming traffic continually flash their brights at me. This vehicle is super dangerous while driving at night. No help from Cadillac dealership. I first noticed this about a year ago.
I noticed the dim lighting on low neam and took it to my mechanic. I had him replace the bulbs. They were very expensive bulbs and only helped minimally. I the went to cadiilac dealer and they will not replace the lighting harnesses. I have read online many cases and the dealer has many of the cases documented. In fact, the car in front of me at service had the same problem. Case #.
Lights on dim are so dim you can barely see. Problem with seals in light assembly. Having to replace but understand that it is a common problem and a flaw in the Srx.
I bought a used Cadillac. Within a few weeks I noticed that I could not see at night. I thought it was my eyesight. I later bought a hd light bulb for $200 and had it installed for another $250(you need to remove the bumper to replace the bulbs on this car). Yet there is no difference, it has gotten worse and dangerous. I just came back from the dealer and he wanted to change the whole light assembly or go get after market assembly. On a hunch I researched online and saw that this was a rampant problem with Srx's all over the country.
Notice low beam head lights were horrible at night. Check everything and noted there was a problem with reflector. Today took the Srx to Cadillac dealer as purchased extended warrenty. Dealer noted there was a problem but warrenty would not cover replacing the assembly as needed. Was advised the cost to replace the pair would be 1700. 00 needless to say I did not have the work done. It is an extreme night time driving hazard and a very costly repair. Something needs to be done about it.
The low beam headlights are so dim it is almost impossible to drive at night. While turning into my driveway at night, my neighbor who was walking her dog stepped into my driveway to get out of the way of oncoming traffic not realizing who was driving down street, I did not see her until the last second. I have spoken with dealer twice and they told me to call gm divisional headquarters which I called. I was told to have vehicle inspected by dealer; inspection fee is $135. If headlights are found defective dealer would replace for approx. $1800. I could then submit paperwork to gm headquarters, and they would consider a reimbursement.
Our low beam headlamps are dim. We bought the car in may 2015, then left the area. We took it in for routine service three months later and complained about them. We were under bumper to bumper warranty for 50,000 miles. We were told that's just the way they are. We took it in to other dealerships as we traveled and were told the same thing. After 9 different times over 2 1/2 years, we finally insisted they be checked, after our warranty had recently expired. Then they confirmed there was an internal fault with the lamps and they need to be replaced, at a cost of $1,100. We contacted gm with our complaint. The best they will do is install them for free, but we have to pay over $800 for new lamps. We have since learned there is a class action suit starting because this is a huge problem for many. We literally cannot see at night or before daylight without using our high beams. We now will replace them ourselves with after market parts but that's not a guarantee that will fix the problem. We saw a number of complaints on your website. What makes us angry is that we were literally blown off with our complaint 9 times at various dealerships (attachment has all these documented) before a dealership said they had just diagnosed this problem with another customer after she insisted the service advisor drive it home one night. It is a safety hazard and a defect. We assure you, Cadillac is aware of it. There are a lot of us driving unsafely. We try to avoid driving at night or dusk but that's not always possible.
The head lights are very dim. This is an ongoing daily issue. The issue cannot be remedied by changing the bulbs alone. There is very now visibility at night unless the high beams are used which distracts oncoming traffic. This issue is experienced in all driving settings, city, highway, country roads. It is most pronounced when driving in dimly lit country roads.
The low beam lights on the Cadillac Srx 2013 barely shows up as lit. When driving at night there doesn't appear to be any lights on at all. Makes for a dangerous situation.
I bought this car used in August, 2017. I am unable to drive the vehicle at night due to the low beams being dim. Does gm plan to replace these bulbs? I cannot drive it for fear of accident, hitting a deer or someone not seeing my vehicle.
Low beams are very, very dim. I find it hard to drive at night and often drive my wife's outback at night specially if raining!.
Same issue in two class action lawsuits against moisture entered the headlight casing which eroded the plating reflecting the light, resulting in dim headlights, unsafe to drive at night. We have had this issue for year, but managed to drive other cars at night. Now we need to drive this car at night for work. We have replaced the light bulbs. But the issue remains. Gm said they sent letters to Cadillac Srx owners in California in 2020 as a result of the lawsuits. After I told the gm rep that I had never seen such letter, she said the best she could do was to take a note on my file. Gm should recall the affected Srx’s and replace the headlights, as it is a safety issue.
Dim lights are working at about 20 percent.
The low lights are so low that you can not see at night. The brights are fine. I replaced the filaments and put in stronger blubs, but the low lights are still not adequate for night driving. This started in June 2016.
Can not see with low beams at night. Also, the screen freezes on the "cue" display.
Headlights are dim.
The lights on this car have been an issue from the time of purchase! first we thought the lights needed to be adjusted. Dealership told us they are adjusted perfectly. I cannot drive this car at night! I will kill someone or myself! contacted dealership again & was told they could meet us halfway for replacement. Cadillac is very aware of this. I've researched this problem & know other owners have the same problem. I tell everyone not to purchase a Cadillac because they do not stand behind their flaws. I want to include my name so that when my husband has to bury me from getting killed in an accident he will have proof that the complaint was made to our government as well as numerous times to the dealership. It is going to take the death of one or more persons and an outrageous negligent lawsuit for gm to get on board with this problem. I've even made a file for my husband to access to give to attorney upon my death. Thank you gm, at least my husband will be able to buy a new Ford! sincerely, patricia landry car was purchased from ron taylor Cadillac in houston,TX.
