I recently purchased this vehicle and have discovered that you cannot see the road at night with dim beam, the cause is the reflector compartment on the light modules burns up from the heat generated by the light and takes away the reflector capabilities that give out light to the road. I am forced to currently drive with main beam everywhere which is a big safety issue. I investigated to see if tis is just my car and have found on you tube that it is a major issue with is car model. I am told that if I take the car in and pay to have it fixed that gm will reimburse in their own time. This is not acceptable, it should have been addressed by your department years ago and it is not on the recall list why? no accidents for us yet but we cannot drive the car after dark unless very important reason then full beam and my wife will not drive it at all at night! I will wait to hear back from you before I pursue this further but time is of the essence here so please respond soon. Thank you. Low beam headlights are dim. The vehicle is unsafe to drive at night or in low light conditions there has not been an incident at this time. Because of the dim light condition I am afraid to drive the vehicle at night.
After the light housing recall, the lights are even worse at illuminating the road ahead, I only feel safe to see when the bights are on.
My 2014 (bought 2017) Cadillac Srx headlights are inadequate for night vision. I don't want to drive at night. The lights are too dim to be safe. When I went on online, I found about 30 people with the same problem on carcomplaint. Com and gm is not helping us.
This is the second time I've issued this form. The headlamps on my 2014 Cadillac Srx (and about 300,000 others) setting is such that the headlamps' low beams do not illuminate the roadway due to faulty engineering or manufacturing and should undergo a recall service by Cadillac.
Moisture entering the headlamp assembly on my 2014 Cadillac Srx causes the low beam to become foggy and unable to illuminate the roadway at dark hours or in the rain which in turn raises a safety issue.
The contact owns a 2014 Cadillac Srx. The contact stated that the headlamps were dim and provided insufficient lighting while driving. The vehicle was not taken to be diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and informed of the failure. The contact was informed that a replacement was offered under a class action lawsuit however, the time was expired. There was no further assistance provided. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 75,000.
When driving at night, I can't see unless I use my high beams, on low beams I cannot see the roadway. I have contacted the dealership and they say they are aware of the problem, but there is no recall. So I would have to pay for this issue repair and hope that general motors would have to reimburse me for the repair, I can't imagine a more important safety issue than not being able to see at night on the highway.
The head lights give off a very low dimming or a low beam of light. Which I cant see the lines inside of the road or dividing lanes. The out side glass that covers the light is clear and not damaged. I have to use my bright light to drive everyday conditions. Iknow of others cadilliac owns who has also experiences this issue. This is a safety issue of life and death!! on coming traffic sometimes blowing to inform me my lights are low. Look into this safety matter .
Unable to drive at night due to very low light output. Like driving with no lights or with park lights. Had new lights installed, but still very low lighting. Worse if it is raining. Can't see 2 foot in front of you unless you have the high beam on. Rural driving, live in country.
Headlights are dim causing it hard to see at night.
Headlights are dim on low beam. After multiple reports/complaints by owners no recall was issued. It is a safety issue. Gm offered to reimburse up to $1600. My dealer wanted $2502. 40 plus tax to replace the lights. $1000 over the reimbursement cost which made a total of almost $3000 I had to put out then wait to get back $1600. I have not replaced the lights. This is a product safety issue that is gm's problem not mine. Why no recall?.
The headlights for my car - Cadillac 2014 Srx at night the headlights are not bright enough to see and driving is dangerous. The car is available for inspection upon request. I was driving at night making a turn and I hit a small sign post on a back road because I could not see it! I put others at risk driving with my high beams on blinding the oncoming cars. If people are walking on the road I can not see them and therefore put them at risk. Additionally I put myself and my family at risk. I am a first responder working in a doctor's office after dark and have to drive home on back roads that are very dark and not lit with street lights. The dealer at ingersoll auto of danbury CT confirmed the headlights do not work properly and are not bright enough to see at night. They said they are defective. When I purchased the car and could not see at night driving I contacted my dealership. They said the problem has been a recall in florida. I contacted Cadillac who said they sent me a letter and I should have them fixed.
The seals on the headlights let moisture in, causing the lights to be dim.
Running lights (low beans) can not be used. They are on, new, and adjusted properly. I have to drive with high beams on to see at night.
When the lights are on dim, you cannot see the road at all. It's like you are not driving with any lights on at all. After only having my car 5 days, I have run off the road twice, had two people pull out in front of me because they did not see me with lights on dim, and almost been hit once. This is a serious safety issues that many owners are facing. My choices to drive my car at time is to only use the high beams which blinds other drivers, risk not being able to see, or have aftermarket headlamps installed. Changing the light bulb did not work.
The low beams are so bad you can hardly see! I've almost wrecked several times at night and hit several curbs due to poor lighting! I replaced the current bulbs with led bulbs and it's better than it was but still not very bright! I've seen so many complaints! something needs done before more people have accidents!.
The low beams are horrible. At around 60,000 miles the low beams started to fade down. Can't see at night unless my high beams are on. Dealership wants 1800$ to fix. I tried replacing bulbs looked like it would work at least temporarily until they both blew out completely within 10 min of driving. Cadillac should fix this immediately this is a danger to everyone on the road.
Light recall doesn't cover entire original light and I need to get it replaced (out of pocket expense to be $1204. 64). . The car did not have over 100,000 miles on it when it showed issues. History replacements prove the whole light must be replaced.
About 6 months ago, noticed low beam visibility was very low. Dealer said "common problem" needed to replace entire lighting unit ($800 each side). Now after having time to research, finding it is a common problem with other Srx owners. Did change bulbs, but that was no help. Cadillac needs to step forward and remedy the problem.
Headlamps have condensation build up and the low beams do not provide enough light to drive. Last night I almost had an accident trying to go somewhere and had to take corrective measures to keep from driving into a ditch that I could not see. This is incredibly dangerous and we almost wrecked because the low beams give off almost no light to the roadway.
Very low intensity low-beam lighting while operating vehicle during hours of darkness. Consequently, vision is reduced to unsafe levels resulting in a near-miss involving bicycling pedestrians. Gm doesn't recognize it as a safety issue but hundreds of internet reported complaints indicate otherwise.
The Cadillac cue has frozen and needs to be replaced. The highlights are so dim it is impossible to drive at night.
Dim lights housing burned out. Diagnosed by local mechanic and confirmed by Cadillac dealership in smyrna, GA. Service dept. Says all Srx are having this problem, but he also stated that the recall was already done. The actual recall I received was about condensation in the lights which does not seem to be a problem for my vehicle, so if people are taking their vehicles in and being told the recall is already done, then they are probably not reporting the problem. This affects the safety of myself and others as I am unable to see well in dimly lit areas and I have to use my bright lights to avoid having an accident. There is no warning indicator for this. I can just tell that the lights are not working properly. Also the electronic touch screen that controls the radio and heating is not working properly. I cannot redirect the heat, so it only blows out of defrost vents. It’s very cold in the back for my 4 year old. My vehicle is available for inspection upon request and once I get the mechanic to look at it again, I can provide a picture of the burned out housing unit.
Unsafe to drive at night - the low beams on this car as so dim that you cannot drive it safely at night. Cadillac refuses to accept there is an issue. Multiple class action lawsuits have been launched and this same complaint is all over the internet. I can't understand why nhsta hasn't looked into this problem since it presents dangerous situation and affects multiple Cadillac models fro 2010 to 2015. Problem continues to worsen as the car ages. Please look into the obvious safety hazard.
Brakes did not slow vehicle down in 25 mile per hour accident, brake work done by dealership 2/2019.
Tl- the contact owns a 2014 Cadillac Srx. The contact stated that the low beam head lights were extremely dim. The contact mentioned that he can not see past 40 feet in front the vehicle while driving. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or independent mechanic for a diagnostic test or repairs. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 37,121. Dr.
My headlamps is very dim. I cannot see when I am driving at night. There is enough light that I don't get pulled over by the police, but not enough see a car license plate in front of me.
We purchased our 2014 Cadillac on 7/3/2019. Carfax check out great. 5 days later we left town at 9:30 pm for a Mini vacation. It was getting dark. We thought the lights seemed pretty dim, but then again it wasn't completely black outside at this point . As it proceeded to get darker we started to get extremely frightened it was like driving with dim flashlights . The high beams work fine but the low beams do not! ! I got online to see if there was a problem with this and it turns out there are several complaints and a class action lawsuit in California !!! I called the Cadillac dealership and they acted like they had never heard of this! we seriously thought we were going to be in an accident that night . What is it going to take for Cadillac to take responsibility for this are several people going to have to die? not a great way to drive on the freeway or in town. We did both.
Head light low beams are dangerously dim. It is very unsafe to drive this car at night. Someone is going to get killed or seriously injured with this issue. A recall for this safety issue is immediately needed to save lives. Already came close to an accident when a truck pulled out in front of us, while driving home. . He could not see us. Please take this seriously and help us.
When driving at night the low beams are very dim. I have to drive with the high beams other wise I cannot see the road. Other drivers get upset but I cant use the vehicle at night. Lights are on but very dim. I had dealer inspect and he said the focusing lens get destorted and the light doesn't go through. Cost wold be over $1800 and not permenantly fix the defective focusing lens.
Tl- the contact owns a 2014 Cadillac Srx. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle at night the low beam head lights were extremely dem and caused a visibility hazard. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer otto Cadillac(1730 central Ave. Albany NY. ) who diagnosed that the failure was cause by moisture in the head light assembly and the entire head light assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 60,000 . Jft.
Cadillac Srx low beams lights are extremely dim. Provides very little visibility at night. It almost looks like the car is running on day lights only, even though the low beams are on. It is extremely dangerous and needs to be remedied ASAP. I have had the bulbs tested and the mechanic says they are fine. It is just the way they are placed in the vehicle. I am terrified to drive at night, but this is my only vehicle and I do not have the funds to replace it right now.
My headlights are so dim, they look as though they are not even on! I cannot drive at night anymore. I was informed that there was a recall in 2019 for this issue, however I never saw one. This should indeed be a safety issue, because these headlights don’t light up t. Gm should be ashamed of themselves!.
