I was involved in an accident, I ran into a vehicle the damage was to the front of the car . The airbags didnt deploy or the sensors of the front of my car did not go off either.
On 6/25/18, my wife was traveling 45 mph. , in our 2012 Cadillac Srx. The vehcle in fromt of her went to make a left turn into a subdivision. But, then decided not to do that and pulled back into the lane of my wife. She slammed on her breaks, to avoid hitting the vehicle. However, she couldn't anticipafe their move. She hit them from behind, going 45mph. She hit her forehead on the visor bar twice, causing a skull fracture, brain bleed, sever concussion, deep lacerations, a burst artery in her forehead to where she was bleeding heavily and unconscious. Her chest hit the steering wheel, which badly bruised her ribs, causing a hiatal hernia, due to the impact. She suffered lacerations to her left arm, knee and has ruptured discs in her cervical spine. She was icu for several days due to the brain bleed and head injuries she sustained. Our air bag never deployed and the driver seat belt didn't lock on impact, allowing her to bounce upward twice and sustained the head injuries. The Cadillac air bags and sest locking mechanisms failed to protect her from injuries she should had never had. Someone needs to research further these issues for the 2012 Srx so other consumers don't feel safe in a vehicle, where the safety mechanisms fail. Cadillac should not be able to get away with this. Should the 2012 Srx have a recall on air bags and sear belt locking mechanisms failing? more than one complaint has been posted, so I hope the NHTSA investigates this for us all. Please consider this a formal complaint! thank you, and please follow up!.
Two cars ahead of me was going straight and all of a sudden turned into a strip mall without indicator, the car in front of me slammed on their brakes and so did I , but I still ended up rear ending the vehicle in front. I think my speed was around 30 at the time of impact. I hit my chin to the steering wheel. Got multiple cuts inside of my mouth. And couple of them on my face which required stitches. My air bag did not deploy and neither the seatbelt prevented it, which I thought was odd. Checked with Cadillac if hey were aware of any problem with the car. They denied the existence of such an issue. So I want to get the vehicle investigated , so that nobody else should get hurt the way I did; also I have another Cadillac and need to know. Will really appreciate it. Thanks.

Hit head on by truck going approx. 45 mph that swerved into my center turn lane. Front end demolished - car was totaled - but air bags did not deploy. Seat belt did not lock on impact. Side of my head hit driver's window or frame - was catapulted forward and caught in seat belt when it pulled out all the way, resulting in horrific and painful chest, abdomen and left leg injuries (soft tissue).

2013 cadiilac Srx. Consumer writes in regards to vehicle transmission malfunction. On June 14, 2014, the consumer was involved in an accident, in front of his residence. The last time, the consumer was at the dealer, he complained about the transmission acting strange. In particular without warning, it would race, the rpm would surge and it was necessary to brake during those times. When he entered the driveway, the automatic transmission was in gear. He brought the vehicle to a full and complete stop, with his right foot maintaining constant pressure on the brake pedal, he moved the gear indicator from drive to park. Immediately upon doing so, the transmission started racing. As the vehicle was in park, he took his right foot of the brake pedal. His hands were not on the steering wheel and his foot was not on the brake or accelerator pedal. With the engine racing, he reached for the key to turn off the engine, but the vehicle suddenly lurched forward, out of park and shot forward. The vehicle moved approximately 15 feet, knocking over a large planter, a four inch statue and finally coming to rest against a brick facade of his home. During the ordeal, the air bag did not deploy. Four days later, the consumer received a recall notice in the mail, regarding the transmission problem.

2012 Cadillac Srx. Consumer writes in regards to air bags not deploying in an accident. The consumer stated as his wife was driving, the vehicle was struck from the side, causing it to hit the concrete jersey wall and guard rail numerous times, from side to side.
I have had several incidents when my "vehicle stability control" has turned on by itself causing the entire car to violently jerk to the right side. I was coming off of a exit on 8/18/2011 at about 40mph once again the traction control came on for no reason causing the vehicle to jerk violently to the right, I lost control of the vehicle, jumped a curb, hit a light pole and rolled into the trees. Causing me to loose conciousness, miss 6 weeks from work and incure thousands of dollars in repair costs and medical expenses. The airbags did not deploy during the right side frontal crash. The seatbelt caused 3 herniated disks in my neck that I am still being treated for. In addition to that the transfer case chain snapped and I had to pay out of pocket for the repair.

I am writing regarding the Cadillac Srx VIN # [xxx] I purchased in 07/09 from massey Cadillac. We have a serious problem with this vehicle and the number of times it has been in the Cadillac repair shop since it was purchased. The most egregious defect is the passenger airbag. The vehicle has been in the repair shop a total of nine times for the same issue. The passenger airbag does not activate when a passenger is seated in the passenger seat. There is a safety concern & and a potential negligence claim for Cadillac because if a fatal accident were to occur and the airbag failed to deploy and the passenger was either injured or there was a fatality, Cadillac has been on notice for months that there was an issue with this vehicle. The vehicle goes into the shop, stays for a few days, is returned to me and the same issue happens again -- a passenger is seated in the passenger seat and the airbag sensor does not register that a person is seated there. Note: as of 4/29/13 the vehicle is sitting in the service department of massey Cadillac orlando waiting to be repaired. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
