My stabilizer track/abs light came on but before it did my car was driving about 20 miles even though I had my foot down on the gas. Then it jumps into moving fast. The light goes on and off, so when it's off the car won't move it drags then it jumps but when the stabilizer track/abs light comes back on it doesn't do this. I checked recalls and it says my vehicle doesn't have any but who knows if this has been fixed improperly before. I was driving and cars were beeping then when it jumped I almost hit a car in front of me.
Please investigate! approx. 3 days ago I was coming to a stop sign in a residential area & applied brakes. Speed limit is 25, but I was going slower, just to the corner past my home. Not only did brakes not work- the car began to accelerate on its own to about 35-40 mph- no gas applied. Tried pumping brakes, shifting the car into neutral, reverse, park- all while at an unexpected accelerated speed. I plowed into a residential yard which had a small hill thinking maybe I could stop the car that way. That didn't work. I swerved back into the street; car still revving and moving forward. At that point I thought I was going to crash into a house, pole or another vehicle. I ended up halfway on the street and halfway on a curb after continuously trying the brakes and shifting from drive to park (vehicle still accelerating as if it was possessed!!) and just before hitting a light pole, with driver side door open thinking I'd rather jump out of a moving vehicle than die from ramming into a pole, house or car- I thought to turn physically turn off the ignition while the vehicle was in drive. This is the only was the car would stop moving. This was a very disturbing and dangerous experience. I have no doubt this is not a normal issue and should be recalled and fixed by the manufacturer- whatever it is. My mechanic still has not determined what the issue is. We know it isn't as simple as just fixing the brakes. I and/or other people could have been killed in the process and even worse, my two small children could have been in the car which thankfully they were not. This was such a traumatic experience that I no longer feel safe driving the car for fear it could happen again with my children inside. If I have the car repaired, I don't even know that I feel comfortable selling it to anyone else- it's that dangerous! please investigate. This problem is deadly. 2004 Cadillac Srx 4dr.

There are 7 recalls on this vehicle and the mechanic verifies that none of the recalls have been performed.
My car was going 70 on the interstate and the reduced engine power signal came on and my car jerked and started powering down. It was a throttle body issue. Now my cars electrical system won't work, and electronic stability control won't work because of small magnets that had poor design. My car windows don't open. The electrical system shuts of while the car is driving and I can't see my steering panel at all.
Making a left hand turn onto my work parking lot, applied brakes to pull into my parking space and I heard a terrible grinding/shuddering noise and the brake pedal went to the floor. I didn't think I was going to be able to stop without hitting the concrete wall. The car finally stopped and then I saw the "service stability system" appear on the driver information center. Since I just purchased this vehicle used I looked this up and it appears this "should" have been considered as a recall gm needs to make before someone is seriously hurt or killed.

Took vehicle into gm chevy dealer today for tire rotation and oil/filter change. No other issues. Dove vehicle home and noticed two lights on dashboard; abs and stabilitrak. Also message on dic indicating to service abs. No issues before dealer service.
The stability system engages and disengages on its own. I have seen several fourms and reports as to people having the same issue . Happens at least 1 time a day but usually several times a day. When you are driving down the road (which is the only time it physically engages it) the stability system warning like comes on and says to service stability system and the system will engage on it's own. This is extremely dangerous as when this happens the car applys the brakes on it's own and they get alot of vibrations and it pushes the car left or right from the front end , almost got into a wreck and would love for a recall to me published for this because this is a serious safety concern .

At random times, while accelerating the traction engage message will appear and the car will not accelerate for 2--3 seconds. Very dangerous. The last time it happened was when I was trying to make a left turn in a busy intersection.
Im thinking of reaching out to an attorney before someone is killed in this car or by this car. Purchased new 2012 Srx. Has 49,000 miles. Sunroof broke 2 different time $3500. Liftgate/sunroof wouldn't open $3500. My husband researched to find this model has faulty drain hose in sunroof causing water to leak into vehicle resulting in erosion in the electrical module causing short out yet Cadillac, or gm will admit. Numerous complaints online. Google 2012 Cadillac Srx it's disheartening knowing the price you paid to get screwed! what next? I haven't been able to see at night lights on dim may as well be off! numerous times almost wrecked trying to see. Purchased extended warranty. Called johnson motor CO 12/26/19, couldn't get me in until 1/6/20. Dropped car off 8am Monday service tech agreed there was moisture and fading of my lights this is a major problem with this make but most likely I will be responsible. Stated fla and cal were the only states a lawsuit was settled. How can gm/Cadillac settle in 2 states and not everyone who owns these defective vehicles with the same issues? remember mon morning dropped my car off I receive a call 930 stating bad news we don't cover this and your extended warranty ran out at midnight last night(Sunday) you can call Cadillac and complain most likely they wont take responsibility. Are you kidding me right now? tried to get my car in week and half prior and this is faulty designs that has to do with gm/cad not anything I've done or caused from age. You pushed me out 2 weeks for service. I reached out to numerous individuals trying to fight this expensive issue only to be told over and over "im sorry I understand" not to mention they kept my car for a week, did nothing to it, would not put me in a loaner car. What kind of customr service is this? I will never buy another Cadillac! I hope this helps someone not to waste their $$$$$$.

Driving straight down a two lane road immediately started losing power. The tc light and engine light came on and stayed on. Also, the stability system check came on. Try to reset but tested it according to manual and as backing out of driveway the lights come back on and stay on. Purchased vehicle in April 2017 and one thing after another seems to happen. How do I know recalls have been fixed? when on look up on NHTSA shows there are no unfixed recalls but I believe they've never been fixed. Also, after rainy days if you lift up tailgate water comes pouring out.
Stability traction control and anti-lock brakes and check engine light will not go off even after computer module wheel bearings 02 sensors were changed while driving on local city streets in mount vernon NY while turning the anti lock brakes engages and makes the brake pedal shake and the steering wheel gets tight this has been happening for about 2 years now and ongoing.
Abs stability code (c0045) left rear wheel speed sensor encoder ring broken. Mileage 96,020. Replaced speed sensor ($28. 71) and rear hub assembly ($188. 54). Labor ($420). The broken sensor and hub created a noticeable and significant reduction in acceleration. Vehicle would nearly stall. Mileage 96,360 began receiving service rear axle code. No noticeable performance problem, but a slight whining noise at lower speed.
Stabilitrak (etc) engaged during highway driving on dry road nearly causing a wreck by slowing the vehicle abruptly below 20mph. "engine power reduced" illuminated. Accelerator position sensor (aps) code in the ecm. Less than 6000 miles after dealer replacement of aps and fixing connections, same dangerous slow down from highway speeds. Events not reproduced for dealer.

Biggest problem with this vehicle is the headlights in the dim setting. It is almost impossible to see the road in this mode. Have changed to bulbs to the most expensive I can get with no better results. I have read many forums with the same complaint how does this go on without getting recalled, huge safety issue. The issue with stability track is has to be set every few months.
So just bought this crossover, which is more like a short SUV, or a really sturdy and stout station wagon; with 98,000miles 9n it. So there must've been an issue with the air bags because I was cleaning under the front seats and while doing so, k I locked a resistor wrapped in electrical tape off of some wires and even since my service airbag light has been on, not to mention there are wires cut that I need relieve go to the air bags as well. All that I was fine with. It was when I got acquainted with my Cadillac cue and its blocky, glitched, slow, yet precisice directions; it has totally failed me while driving. One moment its telling me to make a left and the next intersection, then it told me that the map dvd, wasnt the map dvd and still has yet to read it's own map disc.

So many rusted frame complaints should have warranted a recall. In my case a frame should not have rusted badly in less than a year . Many even show on you -tube trying to fix rusted frames because no one is listening. Underbody coating actually should have been added . Thin sheet metal sections are the worst parts .
Vehicle stutters like it is trying to turn off or the wheels are catching on something. This happens when first pulling out and sometimes when driving. Mostly happens after making a u turn. (does not matter if the turn is tight or not). Car hesitates and then straightens itself out. This is dangerous and hard to figure out. The first time it happened I had pulled into traffic in front of a big truck if there hadn't been a turn lane for me to get into he would have run me over. This has been happening for 3-4 months not. The stability control service just came up today. There are not warnings otherwise.
Toe link torqued incorrectly suspension in rear is affected.
Stabilitrak light comes on, engine light comes on with reduced engine power, loud thumping noises from front drive train at any speed turning or driving straight, unsafe to drive.
"takata recall" change oil light on continuously even after oil has been changed and cannot reset. Airbag light on also both warning lights come on when cranking and while driving. My traction engages when emerging to turn on to incoming traffic the car slows down. My concern is the roads are not wet or slippery for the traction to engage and that's a safety concern , it could cause an accident. My airbag light just recently started coming on and reading the owner's manual. It would be a safety issue if I had an impact it won't deploy or while driving it could deploy. I've heard that Cadillac has a lot of electrical problems and I wanted to know if other people complained of these problems. It is a safety issue and some people like me or not financially able to pay $100 plus dollars for the dealership to check it. Thank you in advance and I will look forward to hearing from you.
The vehicle switches to stabilitrac and abs at the same time causing the engine to not shift into the next gear. This causes the transmission to be over ram and I have to stop the vehicle completely and put it into sport mode and manually shift the gears in order for it to shift gears. The vehicle is in motion at the time of transmission not shifting correctly into the next rpm.
Unsafe defected headlights. Today, I had a tech at claude nolan Cadillac jacksonville, FL check the headlights and the cue-system on my 2013 Srx model. The tech-adviser informed me that I need headlamps that cost $1200 each and three downloads to fix the cue technology system issue. What? these issues are well documented as ongoing issues. Why are we. . . The customers addressing general motors (gm) noted defect/issue surrounding the Srx 2013 model? I will use social media to inform folks and potential buyers to beware of this safety issue. Gm is not being accountable nor responsible. The Srx 2013 model is an unsafe vehicle due to their headlights: a recall is needed for this defect (that's the right thing to do). Buyers beware of any other gm-Cadillac models; not to mention the Cadillac-cue system experience that freeze or cycle automatically without touch. As a consumer, I supported gm-american cars (not after this). Remember gm, you can measure lost revenue.

Lower front drivers ball joint failed. Causing serious accident at highway speed.
While driving our 2005 Cadillac Srx a service stability system error message appear on console display screen along with tc and abs light coming on the dash. Vehicle's brake system begins to work on its own for no apparent reason (no ice, snow, rain or gravel). Vehicle needs to come to a compete stop, sometimes shut the vehicle completely down and restart to get the tc and abs light to go out on the dash. This has happened 3 times in the last few weeks. Not safe to drive. Any assistance would be helpful?.
Faulty headlamp that I keep having to replace something on it because it keeps going out and ac will not get cold on level 1,2, or 3. It's giving faulty codes.
Service stability system code comes on rear wheels lock up after making loud grinding noise, first time I had it towed to dale earnhardt Cadillac dealership they found nothing wrong. It now does it when I turn rt or when driving straight.
This winter it was freezing, my 2011 Srx Cadillac displayed a "reduced engine power" message, and I couldn't go over about 5 miles per hour. I had to pull over and stop the car. After a short time, I restarted the engine and had power back. I took the car to the Cadillac dealership with the check engine light on. They said it was my throttle body sensor. The cost came to $603. I was the second car out of four within a one week time frame that had to get this problem fixed. Cadillac did a recall for this same problem on its other vehicles but not the Srx.
Stability control system engages during normal driving and dry, level, low-speed conditions such as pulling onto highway from a stop. This has occurred three times, in each instance starting from a dead stop to make a turn. When the system engages the driver has literally no control over the vehicle - brakes engage abs without driver input, engine power is suddenly reduced, and vehicle is brought to an immediate crawl and then stop, until it disengages. Thus far I've been fortunate enough that this has not occurred where any oncoming traffic has posed a threat of collision, but the potential for a major accident is obvious. Researching this issue online indicates that it is not an uncommon experience with this vehicle, and reported dealer responses are not encouraging. An electronic safety system should by definition not be a lethal threat; there appears to be no protection against a hardware/firmware failure mode causing unwarranted and wholly unpredictable deployment of the system with very high risk of causing complete loss of control of the vehicle. How is it possible that I read dozens and dozens of reports of this issue without there having been a recall? I grant that my vehicle has 185k miles. . . But competent engineers know how to design s/w that would disable the stability control if any fault is detected, ie steering position sensor, yaw sensor, ecm. It's staggering to imagine that a few lines of code couldn't be added doing just that, instead of allowing the system to deploy at will when no valid conditions exist. I can tell you that it's a desperately dangerous situation to suddenly find yourself facing, and then read report after report of dealer service blindly replacing sensors and modules at very high cost to the vehicle owner without resolving the problem because we don't really know what causes it.
The stability system engaged keeps coming on in dash. Causing it to pull one way or the other. The vehicle was in motion at time on highway.
He passenger side headlight quit working on my 2010 Srx last week. There's a lot of condensation in the headlight assembly. The service manager at the local Cadillac dealer told me the headlight assembly must have been bumped and the seal compromised. The cost to fix it is $1,250 plus 2 hours labor and tax. The car is within the time warranty but outside the mileage warranty. He was very clear that gm would not help me with this problem. I guess gm trains their dealers to blame all products that prove defective after the warranty expires on their customers. This is my third Cadillac and I've had more problems with this car than the other two combined.
2004 Srx stability sys ready comes on and the steering pulls left or right abs light , brake light , comes on no one seems to know what it is or what to do help.
