The lift gate fell down on me while getting packages out of the rear in my driveway. It was terrifying! once again, the lift gate fell down on my daughter a few weeks later at cvs parking lot, traumatizing her! she had her baby. I reported to tonia general motors product assistance claims; concentrix on behalf of general motors phone: 866-446-6963 x 5921511; they investigated, and "determined no warranty defect". How many sacrificial lambs before a recall? it is a manufacturer defect - water drains into 2 compartments from sunroof into draining compartments in the rear of car at lift gate, trapping moisture which burns out and corrodes lift gate and bluetooth modules. My sunroof still works, but not the lift gate of bluetooth. Nothing in maintenance manual other than in "features" to clean sunroof. Or it may not work. Nothing for maintenance of bluetooth problems or lift gate safety issues!.

While driving on the highway, the stabilitrak and check engine warning indicator lights come on. Next a warning reads, "engine running at reduced power" and the car slows down. When I cut the car off and restart, the warning indicator lights reset and the car will drive normal.

My car was in line for a car wash at val ward Cadillac parking lot. My electronic brake was on. The brake light on the dashboard indicated this. The car was in drive but stationary for approx two minutes. The car suddenly surged forward. I thought my car was hit in the back. I didn't understand why the car surged forward. My car hit the car in front of me. After the accident, the cars were separated by val ward personnel. They had to release my electronic brake in order to move my car. Per Cadillac, if electronic brake is engaged, it will release when gas pedal pressure is applied. My feet were on the floor of car when surge occurred. I did not touch the gas pedal. Conveniently, the accident occurred right in front of the val ward Cadillac body shop office. As far as I know the car was not towed, but pushed into repair shop. I will never use that electronic brake again. This should be a warning to electronic brake users. 7 mph listed below is a guess, as I went from stopped in line to surging forward. Mileage listed is approximate as Cadillac service records 9 days prior reflect 11,134 mi.

Even the slightest bump in the road sends the vehicle swerving. The whole car rattles. When trying to accelerate it hesitates before going, same with decelerating. Even when in residential areas and flat surfaces.

My cue screen has become unresponsive and I can no longer link my cell phone, use the gps for driving and other features. It all started with a small hairline on the corner of the cue screen back 2016/2017. The dealership stated it was $1500 to replace the entire unit which are not covered under the warranty. Florida is now a handsfree in the school zone and I drive to pick-up my daughter everyday from school. What if there is an emergency and I can't pick up my cell, since the cue no longer with sync to my bluetooth on my cell. The cue screen is locked in one location and I feel it is unsafe for the driver to no longer have the gps, bluetooth and other features we paid for. Attached, please find the article on the class action lawsuit filed over cracked Cadillac cue screens. I pray I don't have to wait years like the headlights lawsuits with general motors. Thank you for your time and assistance, patricia richardson 5240 tudor court naples, florida 34112 c. 239. 289. 1298.

Stabilitrak warning comes on and stays on. While on and making a sharp turn feels like the tires are trying to grip the road like there's no traction. This happens on sunny days with no precipitation. Also can not pick up speed. The stabilitrak warnings been on now for 2 weeks since the last time it rained. I find I'm burning gas quicker since it's on. Also sometimes my transmission won't shift into 2nd gear. It happens mainly when slowing down and goes back down to 1st gear but when I accelerate it won't shift back up. It also drops back into first while driving at a steady speed-not slowing down. I have to pull over and put in park then put back in drive in order for it to shift gears. It's scary when this happens on the highway because I have to get to the shoulder because the rpm's shoot way up and I don't want to damage the engine but I don't want to cause an accident either. I've seen recalls for this year and model for this exact same issue but my VIN is not on the recall list. I think this is highly unfair. These issues have been going on since I bought this vehicle in January 2016.
Sun roof drain hose is not probably set up. Which cased lift get modules to short out so I can along or use the lift gate and water to run in to the vehicle.

Cue system froze up, no response from touch screen, vss system warning light on, seat heaters do not work. Thus no ability to control heater or defrost system and owners manual indicated that if the vss light is lit the vss system is not operational. It is not possible to operate a vehicle in michigan in the winter with out control of the defroster and since the vss system is tied in to the brakes I am not confident the antilock brake system will function. Vehicle purchased 6-29-13 and has approx 37,000 miles. Dealer offered to repair for $1750. 00 but negotiated to $750. 00 I feel this is a safety defect on a low mileage vehicle and the manufacture should cover the cost of repairs. There have been at least 5 "service update bulletins " with softerware updated for the cue system on this vehicle when I have had it in for service. So clearly there are electronic problems with this system and my latest problem impacts my safety while operating this vehicle in the wintertime. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate thes softerwarecand operational issues to preserve driver safety while using this vehicle. It was parked in the garage in late August 2016 and when started up in early November the cue control system screen was unresponsive.
Cadillac Srx recall. When driving vechile, the stability system engage come on and causes the vechile to pull to either side. Press ok button and it straightened up.
I bought the Srx used in September and since then I have had one issue after another. If I accelerate too quickly my transmission, (I think), has a very loud ratcheting/popping sound. My service suspension system error msg comes on every time I start my vehicle. I have read that this could be related to the air compressor not working or faulty sensors. My service stability system error msg also comes on every time I start my vehicle. This seems to cause the traction control feature to mess up, which then on occasion when I press my brakes, even slightly, my brakes lock up and I skid for just a second. My power steering fluid seems to continually leak or the pump is bad. I have refilled my resovoir many times and I constantly have a very loud "whining" sound. My power steering system also seems to go out occasionally and my vehicle is very difficult to turn.
Cue touchscreen does not respond. This controls your radio, ac, defroster, navigation. At 52,000 Cadillac will not warranty this. Very common problem in the Cadillac forums. The radio control unit has been discontinued yet the Cadillac reps say this is the first we have heard of it. Completely denying the problem.
I have a 2004 Srx awd. I always get the "stability system engaged" message with some vibration and vehicle rear side goes left side and after little time its goes away . Sometimes when I step on the brake I would get a grunting sound then the "griding" from brake pedal. It happens on when vehicle speed is more than 40 mph & few times I almost hit another vehicle in other lane.
Random traction control engagement and stability system both noted in radio -- but no conditions to warrant it and no codes to explain it--when checked nothing found. Causes dangerous unexpected slowing of vehicle both at initial acceleration and turning which is contrary to what would be expected by surrounding traffic. Then sluggish w deceleration but no check light and mechanic can't figure. Now will only drive forward, can't drive or even push in reverse. This event was preceded by loss of acceleration on highway (sluggish) -- also dangerous and still ni engine light!.

Stability system engaged is happening intermittently and more frequently even in situations where it is clearly unneeded - dry, straight road with no acceleration or deceleration. Dealer could not diagnosis even with road test. Gm hotline sent me back to the dealer. System engages randomly for a few second and then releases. Car jerks to one side. Very disconcerting. Wife will no longer drive car.

2010 Cadillac Srx "service stabilitrac" light has been coming on for the last year. I've had the shop who ran the code. The code came back as possible fail but inconclusive. The mechanic checked all fuses and entire breaking system and found nothing in need of repair and all systems working properly. To replace the part that "maybe causing" the warning to come on would cost me up to $1200.
I have had my car 6 years and it has been in the shop over and over from the engine lights ,stabilize bar, power steering, transmission problem, anti lock brake and traction control light, security light, catalytic convertor, would not start, remote not detected, sunroof leaks, oil leak, seat belt, brakes problem, gas mile not accurate,.
Service theft system came on one day and it wont give me the key back I have to take it out manualy also wont read miles, temperature, fuel and sometimes while on the road it will die completely, it reads service theft system and service stability.
The contact owns a 2016 Cadillac Srx. While driving 50 mph, the reduce engine power light illuminated and the vehicle began to decelerate. The contact stated that the failure recurred randomly. In addition, the stabilitrac light illuminated when the failure occurred. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the cause of the failure could not be determined. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 7,000.
Power steering engages on its own and causes problems when I am turning into traffic. There is a problem with the power steering pump that is causing it to turn only when in motion and it is still hard to turn.
This incident has happen twice and I was almost in a fatal car accident (killed). Both incidents I pulled out of a drive way turn left the 1st time and right the other and my brakes locked up on me and the “system stability” service stability system appeared on the dash, oncoming cars approach the car and I was almost hit with kids in the car with me; I had to shut down the car and restart. Cadillac needs to get the issue fixed ASAP before it causes death. I am making this comment because if I have a fatal accident I will make sure my family is aware of this issue. I have notice many many many people have complained about this issue and that it needs to be a recall. If Cadillac fails to recall this issue blood will be on their hands. May god have mercy!.
The stability system engaged message displays as I am driving. At first it was only at speeds over 45mph. Recently it comes on at any speed during any road or weather conditions. When the message appears the car sways as if a gust of wind is blowing the car. At times I hear a grinding noise as well. I have almost lost control of the vehicle when this happens and I am driving on the interstate at speeds over 60mph. Once the message appeared as I was applying the brakes and there was a deep grinding noise and feeling. The movement the car makes when the stability system engages makes the vehicle very unsafe to drive. I have taken the vehicle to 2 different repair shops (one being an authorized Cadillac dealership) 3 different times, spent over a thousand dollars in repair attempts, and no one seems to have an answer how to fix the problem. The car is unsafe to drive with such unpredictable conditions. There has to be an answer to this potentially fatal defect on this vehicle.
Since oct. 2014 I have had issues with the"stability system" to be serviced yet it works??? the hood hasn't ever stayed up which had been a pain being starting a couple months ago the battery starting having issues in the cold weather. Something is draining it and I don't know from where.
While driving at a very slow speed the car tracking system light comes on and the car lost the ability to accelerate. I was in the medium of a very busy highway and almost had an accident because the more I push on the accelerator the car would not go any faster. This is very dangerous and I am almost afraid to drive my vehicle. I have taken it to the shop for this problem and they had no idea why this was happening. I have to be very careful when at a stop sign getting ready to take off because I don't know if the car will accelerate or not. This has been happening for a long time and I am wondering if anyone else is having this problem.
At low speeds when pulling out of a driveway or taking off from a stop sign or traffic light my 2006 Cadillac Srx traction control engages and almost stops my vehicle in the middle of the road. I have almost been hit several times by other drivers because of this problem. I took my Cadillac to a local gm dealership (dale earnhardt Chevrolet) in newton nc. On my first visit to the dealer they found a multiple misfire (code p300) and a faulty oil pressure sensor (code p0521 & code p0523). I was told by the dealership that the misfire was causing the traction control to engage, so they changed all the spark plugs and changed the faulty oil pressure sensor. When I picked up the Cadillac from them and drove it home the traction control continued to engage several times. I returned my Cadillac for the second time to the same dealership the next day. They scanned the vehicle computer for codes again but could not find any and could not duplicate what I was describing that the vehicle does. I returned home with my Cadillac and drove it for several more days. The traction control continued to engage and when my family was almost involved in another crash I took it back to dale earnhardt Chevrolet for the third time. They test drove it again but still they couldn't get the traction control to engage. They contacted general motors this time. General motors told them to update the pcm and apply dielectric grease to the ebcm connectors and clean the terminals and test drive. The dealership completed the work and test drove it for a whole weekend. When I picked up my Cadillac they told me everything should be ok now. On my home the traction control engaged again several times. That was on 07/21/2014. I have spent close to 1,000 dollars on this problem and I don't think the vehicle is save for me and my family to drive anymore. I have no idea what to do now.
Water drain from moon roof separated and water fluid ed the vehicle short in out many components. Took in for service had to pay $1900. This should have been coverd I feel that this repair should have been completed at no cost to me. Being that there were at least five other vehicles in the same dealer repair shop at the same time. Spoke to the technician repairing the car before mine and was told he knew actually what the problem was. He showed me that the drain tube came from the factory pulled to short and tight and when there is a heavy rain the run off caused the tubing that run down the front windshield end pillars to separate which then leads to water filling the interior cabin of the vehicle, in between the doors, over the dash and it's interior components, down into the lift gate and onto the interior flooring which it had and flooding it.
At any speed and at least 100 times or more, the vehicle stability control activates and causes the vehicle to pull to the left. At freeway speeds it can be a very strong pull to the left and it also makes a noise. The dealer doesnt seem to know why. When the stability system kicks in at 60 to 70 mph and it pulls to the left so hard it it is dangerous, it also makes a sound but I dont know what the sound is. It is dangerous as I have to correct for the sudden pull to the left. I also researched this on the internet and found that many people are having the same experience as me. I believe that there should be a recall on this problem and it should be solved. If this rapid pull to the left gets any worse, I believe it is possible that it could cause a wreck or roll over due to over correction of the pull to the left. Please investigate this problem.
On several occasions the stability system has engaged on its own, causing my car to brake on its own and swerve and skid to the right and left, brakes shudder and goes from 70 mph to 30 in a few seconds. . . It has happened at different speeds in different climate conditions. The message on screen says stability system engaged, then traction engaged, which I have turned off. I brought my car into a dealer after the first experience and they replaced the stability system sensor, at a cost near $600 to me! a couple weeks went by with nothing wrong, we moved across texas and now its happening daily!!! the dealerships don't know what is wrong and 'havent heard any complaints like mine', which I find very hard to believe after reading the complaints listed here and in other blogs/websites!! this is a very dangerous problem that gm really needs to fix, I drive my kids around in this car and depend on it to get me to and from work safely not veering me off road possibly causing a major accident!!! I like many other people work hard to pay my car note and cant afford $600 'fixes' that dont fix!!!.
Every time I start my car I get service brake assist and service stability sys" and I called my mechanic and he said he has read a lot of complaints about this. After researching I did not want to go spend a lot of time and money since it seams no one has the answer to our problem. My car seams to run good it is just scary to think there might be something really wrong with my car. I hope you guys can get the answer to our problem [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
05 xrs total loss of control w/ serious accident by garrbosr Mar 31, 2012 (4:27 pm) I was on the belt parkway yesterday on the edge of queens where the cross island and belt split, heading east into the tunnel overpass. A few miles back I became aware the car was strongly over compensating in the turns . I even checked tire pressure in all 4 tires, w/ reads of 36,35,35,32. New expensive tires with less than 5,000 mi reads were a bit I filled on a cold day when alerted me low pressure. Going to pull over at first chance let some air out im coming up on the overpass tunnel going east, baring to the rite, im in the rite lane of the left split, I slowed down to around 45, I was prepared , I entered both hands on the wheel, its was a little rutty there and a little pot hole. The car lunged into the turn, almost hitting the rite hand wall, I was barely able to keep the car off the wall on the rite with a slight correction, was thrown to the left as it over compensated coming back into a full broadside left, clipping the car coming by on the left, with my front l corner and taking out her rear bumper, somewhat righting my car but slamming me into the east west divider wall, taking out the entire rite side and breaking the rear left axle. With all the high priced high end suspension, steering, tcs, anti lock breaking this car should in no way ever reacted this way. Its designed to prevent this exact scenario ! everything failed !.
The contact owns a 2005 Cadillac Srx. The contact stated that while driving approximately 65 mph, the vehicle suddenly decelerated to 40 mph. The contact was able to accelerate to higher speeds but the vehicle hesitated in the process. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where they advised her that the stability control failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and they offered no assistance. The failure and current mileages were approximately 79,000. The VIN was unavailable.
Electronic stability control turns itself on for no reason and causes steering issues. At high speeds this could lead to a serious accident. I am affraid to drive my car. I have been to the dealership and they act like they have never heard of this problem before, but I have seen and heard of other cases. Please look into this.
When stopping, then starting up (with the engine running, like at a stop sign) the 2005 Cadillac Srx will often fail to move when the accelerator is pressed and the +traction control+ indication lights up on the radio. This also happens sometimes when turning without stopping. It happens on level ground and when going up inclines. It makes a grinding sound (like when gears are raked in a manual transmission. ) by letting off the accelerator, then re-applying it, the car will move, but the hesitation is very dangerous. If the driver does not let off of the accelerator during one of these episodes, the car will very slowly begin to move and eventually accelerate normally. This happens on wet or dry pavement, with no reason for loss of traction. +turning off+ the traction control feature by pressing the button on the console does not always prevent this from happening. The problem does not happen all the time, but intermittently. I have had the car into the dealer for repair of the problem numerous times, but the dealer has never been able to diagnose or solve the defect. I put my safety and others at risk with every mile that I drive this car.
I have had several incidents when my "vehicle stability control" has turned on by itself causing the entire car to violently jerk to the right side. I was coming off of a exit on 8/18/2011 at about 40mph once again the traction control came on for no reason causing the vehicle to jerk violently to the right, I lost control of the vehicle, jumped a curb, hit a light pole and rolled into the trees. Causing me to loose conciousness, miss 6 weeks from work and incure thousands of dollars in repair costs and medical expenses. The airbags did not deploy during the right side frontal crash. The seatbelt caused 3 herniated disks in my neck that I am still being treated for. In addition to that the transfer case chain snapped and I had to pay out of pocket for the repair.
