2 Suspension problem of the 2015 Cadillac SRX

Failure Date: 03/12/2025

Vehicle safety complaint – 2015 Cadillac Srx VIN: [xxx] mileage: 75,000 miles location: flint mi I am experiencing multiple issues with my 2015 Cadillac Srx that pose serious safety concerns. Evap solenoid and throttle failure: the evap solenoid and throttle are not functioning properly, leading to performance issues. Gas cap light comes on. The SUV struggles to accelerate, especially when attempting to merge or drive at highway speeds. Rear suspension not repaired:the rear suspension problem was not properly repaired by al serra Cadillac, despite previous service. This has resulted in unstable handling and potential safety risks while driving. Acceleration issues: at 75,000 miles, the vehicle is failing to accelerate properly, which is extremely dangerous when merging onto highways or making quick maneuvers. Safety concerns:the throttle and acceleration issues make it difficult to maintain safe driving speeds. The rear suspension problem impacts the vehicle’s stability and handling. These issues create a serious risk to both myself and other drivers on the road. Attempts to resolve: the rear suspension was previously serviced by al serra Cadillac, but the issue persists. The problem has not been adequately addressed by the dealership. I am requesting immediate attention to these concerns, as they directly impact vehicle safety. I would like Cadillac and the national highway traffic safety administration (NHTSA) to investigate these failures and determine if they are related to existing recalls or defects. Next steps:please advise on how to proceed with repairs and any potential recalls or warranty coverage that may apply. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

3 Suspension problem of the 2012 Cadillac SRX

Failure Date: 02/09/2025

Braking after hitting a pothole was a nightmare! no warning lights came on to prepare me for anything. Brake pedal went to the floor and would not work properly. Finally after getting my vehicle to stop I pulled over pumped my brakes and seemed to work after 5 tries. Toe link recall was “fixed” well not the case. After 2 recalls on the toe link I had a nice bill the cost me $1. 450. 00 after having to pay for this part. Still haven’t been reimbursed. Also headlights are very dim and can’t see at night!! I’ve asked multiple mechanic shops and no one has an answer for me. So have to use my high beams or else I can’t see anything at night . Very unsafe and no one can help me resolve this issue.

4 Suspension problem of the 2016 Cadillac SRX

Failure Date: 11/23/2024

Case #: [xxx] ] I have a 2016 Cadillac Srx (VIN: [xxx] ) that I have owned for 8 years. Throughout this period, I have encountered some minor issues that were easily remedied. On [xxx], I started my car and some warning light came on. •the abs light •the power steering light •the anti-skid traction light I contacted scranton motors in vernon, CT and was told I had a faulty brake module: part number 20842710. Furthermore, I was told that this part number has been discontinued and no longer available. I contacted Cadillac customer care and spoke to customer service rep alegra 866-790-5600 at extension 5918222 and she gave me a list of suppliers who may have this part. Again, I was told that this part was discontinued. The parts department had to go to the aftermarket to see if they could locate this part. It was found on ebay. I was told that the part could be installed but there is no guarantee that it would work. I was left with no choice but to have the part installed knowing that I would be driving an unsafe vehicle that could malfunction at any time. As stated earlier this vehicle is about 8 years and what I do not understand is why Cadillac would stop production on such a critical part that could cause physical harm to its passengers. In doing some investigating I found the Cadillac forum in which other owners experience the same problem. I have owned 4 Cadillacs over the last 9 years and for the most part I have been very happy with their performance. It appears to me that Cadillac should take some responsibility and compensate me for not producing a safe vehicle to drive. The trade in value according to kelley blue. Book is $14,000 and therefore, I should be reimbursed accordingly on December 12, 2024, I received a phone call from scranton motors advising me that the part that they had received from ebay did not work. Therefore, I cannot operate this vehicle and it is totally useless. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

5 Suspension problem of the 2011 Cadillac SRX

Failure Date: 11/22/2024

Trying to get recall performed but keep being refused. Mcguires Chevrolet of newton,n. J. Won't perform recall because I did not buy it from them. Had Cadillac schedule another dealer, johnson Cadillac to perform recall and they called the day before appointment to cancel. Said they did not have the parts or the alignment machine to perform recall. Why are dealers allowed to not perform a safety recall? any general motors dealer should be required to fix said vehicle.

7 Suspension problem of the 2012 Cadillac SRX

Failure Date: 10/05/2024

To whom it may concern, I am writing this as a complaint on the rear toe link separation recall that was performed on our 2012 Cadillac Srx. We installed new tires on our Srx in August 2022 (michelin defender 235/55 r20) with a mileage of 108,452 just due to this being our sons car and wanted him to be safe on the road. In December of 2022 we had the recall performed at lakeside Chevrolet in rockwall texas and the mileage was 110,893. Since the recall, we have been through 2 sets of tires on the back of this vehicle in less than 2 years with the outer edge of the tires being worn down to the cords. The car has 119,051 on it now. I am very angry as we tried to have the alignment performed and were told that these links that were installed can not be adjusted and will cost me another $650 to replace and another $130 for the alignment. The vehicle did not have any issues until we had the recall performed. We are now out $1404 for tires and $130 for an alignment that can’t be performed unless the links are replaced with adjustable units. My total to get this taken care of is over $2200 which was created by your recall parts. I would like to have someone reply to this email to let me know what can be done to take care of this situation.

The contact owned a 2015 Cadillac Srx. The contact stated that while driving approximately 30-40 mph, the vehicle made an abnormal humming sound. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact continued driving for five hours, when the rear driver's side wheel detached. The contact lost control of the vehicle, and the vehicle spun three times before landing in a ditch. Upon inspection, the contact discovered that the rear driver's side axle had fractured. There were no injuries sustained. The vehicle was towed off the road and eventually to a parking lot. The vehicle was deemed totaled by the insurance company. 9 Suspension problem of the 2012 Cadillac SRX

Failure Date: 01/16/2024

I was driving down a highway and all of the sudden the back end of my car started swerving back and forth. I almost lost control, but managed to get it slowed down without causing an accident. I knew something major was wrong and the dealer I bought the car from was about 5 miles away. I managed to get it there safely, but could only do 10-15mph or the swerving was too much and I would have lost control. No warning lights came on and my steering wheel was even crooked. I had no issues prior to this. I always take my car to the dealer for oil changes/tire rotations and they have never found anything wrong. When the tech inspected my car, he determined the toe link broke. They checked for a recall and it said it was fixed in August of 2021. I bought the car in February 2022. I knew nothing about the recall or this issue. The tech said it was repaired with the same 3 piece style setup that the recall was for to begin with. Also, that they fix the recall with one whole piece now. The dealer wouldn't warranty it again since the computer documented it had already been done. I called Cadillac to see if I could get reimbursed, since the same style faulty parts were installed. I was told they couldn't do anything since it was closed and to submit it here.

21 Suspension problem of the 2013 Cadillac SRX

Failure Date: 03/16/2023

With gm recall n212340980, the toe link was replaced with a nonadjustable toe link and thus it can not be aligned properly causing the tire to wear incorrectly and causing vibration in the wheels and suspension and also causing the vehicle to pull to the center into oncoming traffic. This is a huge safety issue, the vibration can cause the lug nuts to loosen and wheel to come off while at highway speeds. Now I have to pay to have the toe link to be replaced with an adjustable toe link to correctly align the wheels to end the problem caused by this recall. This has been confirmed by an independent service center. This issue was discovered when the lateral arms were replaced due to the bushing becoming worn and needing replaced.

26 Suspension problem of the 2012 Cadillac SRX

Failure Date: 01/01/2023

In Nov 2021 we had the recommended recall repairs done at a Cadillac dealership which replaced the rear toe links with a non-adjustable bar. 2 months later we installed new tires at big o tires but they were unable to perform a rear alignment due to the stationary toe bar. We went back to the Cadillac dealership days later but were assured the alignment was fine. Just over one year later (approx 15k miles driven) we have significant wear on our inner tires. Last week we had big o run an expressalign report and the rear tires have severe negative values. The value even with the toe bar should be +0. 020. I contacted hunter machine alignment and they confirmed our concerns. They said Cadillac solve this problem immediately. At this time Cadillac is only agreeing to inspecting the installation of the recall repair however this does not resolve the safety concerns with this vehicle. Why would a stationary bar be installed if the customer would not be able to get their wheels properly aligned? this recall repair seem to have increased the safety and reliability of this vehicle further. . We had our vehicle recalled for links in the rear suspension some weeks ago. Saturday 6/4/22 we were going south on hwy 19 south of tavares florida at 45 to 50 mph in a light rain. We went thru a light puddle in the road twitched. Didn't feel like anything I had experienced before. A couple of blocks further on the back of the car veered back and forth significantly and I thought I had blown a tire, all tires were hard. We returned the car home gingerly and completed our trip with our daughters car, when we got home I got under the car to see if I could find anything bent or broken, I was astonished to find both back tires bald and thru 2 layers of cord halfway across the inside face of each. The car has 48609 total miles. The tires have about 22000 on them. The car has been dealer serviced , on schedule including tire rotation.

34 Suspension problem of the 2011 Cadillac SRX

Failure Date: 05/27/2022

Received recall notice (#n212340980), contacted several dealers and all said the same thing: if you did not purchase the car here, then appointments are six weeks out! finally, went tremonte Cadillac as they were kind enough to take the car in sooner; brought the car there and within fifteen minutes I was told "you are all set", thanked him and left. On the way home the "service rear axle" message came back up again! being the weekend I did not contact the dealer. The next day the light came back on and the vehicle information center would not display. Contacted the dealer and they said to bring the car back. The fact that the dealer is 45mins away, my difficult work schedule and being told the car can be driven, you just lose the awd capability, I opted to wait till the fall. Also several attempts to contact Cadillac by phone, email and letters-with not one response! I am writing you at this time as we detected the car pulling to the right and loss of awd system. Hoping your office can assist us. Respectfully, rick and val miller rickval4210@gmail. Com.
