Child Seat Booster problem is a common vehicle problem that happens to most car brands and models. The following is a sample list of Child Seat Booster problems reported in most popular vehicles.
The vehicle having this issue was a 1997 Chrysler Concorde. The VIN of this vehicle was 2C3HD56F1V_. Booster seat tether strap anchor was installed to the left of the "third" light located in the middle of the deck lid - by the dealer I bought the car from - yesterday, 2/5/02. This would cause the booster seat tether strap to rest at an angle when hooked to the anchor. Dealer says the anchor was installed where Chrysler instructed them. Contacted Chrysler and they referred me back to the dealer and suggested I get a second opinion from another Chrysler dealer. Contacted NHTSA rep. And he said that the tether strap anchor should be installed directly behind the booster seat so that the tether strap rests in a straight line. Help! I'm getting the runaround and all I want to do is ensure I've met all the safety requirements for my daughter should we ever get in an accident. The tether strap anchor is still installed - at an angle to the booster seat and I will leave it that way as proof until someone contacts me with instructions/contacts of what I should do next. Right now my daughter is still using the harness within her booster seat so we have time until she reaches a point where the tether strap is absolutely necessary.

The vehicle involved is a 1997 Dodge Grand Caravan. The harnesses on the integrated child restraint seats do not restrain my child at all. She can simply wiggle her shoulders through and climb out. She has wiggled her shoulders and upper body through several times and been stuck at the hips. Twice I have been driving over 60 miles per hour on the florida turnpike and discovered that she had completely freed herself from the restraint and was walking around in the van! the harness was still clipped closed, but loose. Obviously, this is totally unacceptable. I need help fast. My daughter is only 17 months old and I will have another baby in June. It was May. 30, 1999 when this child seat booster issue happened.

The car is a 2000 Ford Windstar. According to Ford's owner guide on installation of child seats. You are suppose to put knee on seat and tighten belt. Then test it by rocking side to side. Fords seat belts do not hold car seat in place and can cause injury. You must use a clip on seat belt to prevent the seat from moving. Ford does not suggest to use such a clip to hold seat and can lead owner to false sense of security. The failure date was January 12, 2000.

The car was a 1999 Ford Windstar. The plastic seam where the back and seat portion of the child car seat broke. Therefore, the back can just flop frontwards and backwards. Our other seat (same model) shows stress at the same seam (plastic is a lighter shade of grey). The seats were purchased a year ago, have not been in a wreck or abused. I will contact fisher price tomorrow by phone. This problem occurred on Sunday, September 30, 2001.

The car is a 2007 Jeep Liberty. Crash happened when the problem occurred. My 3 year old child was restrained in an evenflo "big kid booster seat" in the rear-middle seat position of a 2007 Jeep Liberty. They were t-boned by a drunk driver running a red light, and the vehicle rolled-over several times, ultimately landing on the roof. The ems personnel and the emergency room doctors both deemed the child booster seat to be "inadequate" and a "very poor restraint," (as written in my daughter's medical records). Every interconnecting component became loose, ultimately resulting in my daughter hitting her head & receiving a deep cut, which has left her with a permanent scar. This child seat booster issue occurred Sun., Jul. 29, 2007.
