Child Seat problem is a common vehicle problem that happens to most car brands and models. The following is a sample list of Child Seat problems reported in most popular vehicles.
The vehicle was a 2002 Chevrolet Blazer. The dorel child infant safety seat that was made on 10/10/2011. The product number is 22-391 mlo. The restraints on the seat are not safe for a child to be placed in the seat due to the restraints coming off or undone. All you have to do is simply pull on the restraints and they will come undone. And it is really unsafe if you have a infant in the seat that likes to hold the restraints or even play with them while you are trying to drive and cant always see what they are doing. I have had this happen multiple times while even just trying to place my son into the seat. The consequences of this happening are that I have to then either take him out of the seat and fix the restraints or I have to try and fix it while he is in his seat. The only thing I was able to do is fix the problem myself is to place velcro on the restraints on the back of the seat to make sure that they do not move at all when I place my son in the seat. I have tried to contact the company to see what can be done, but every time, I call there is a hold time or they are closed. It was Monday, Nov. 18, 2013 when this child seat issue happened.

The vehicle is a 2000 Chevrolet Blazer. The vehicle identification number (VIN) is 1GNDT13W9Y_. Evenflo express vision/ chase traditions forward facing booster with 5-pt harness. The problem occurs every time my child has been strapped into the seat,. The problem is that the right shoulder strap is overlapped on itself to secure it at a permanent length (making two straps on the r shoulder) and allow for the placement of the harness adjusted. , the one strap that is not secured by the chest clip easily slides on and off of the children's shoulder. . I have tried everything to get this to work but when she moves just a little bit it falls right off of her shoulder. I have tightened it as tight as I can and it still seems to fall right off. I have also had it installed when I bought it and they had a hard time even getting it on and staying in place. They thought it was weird. I do worry this is not safe for anychild, please fix this issue with a new harness please. Tighten it from the front bottom would be so much easier. I I bought this booster child restraint on September 14,2013 from an agency here in klamath falls oregon. Thank you. . . . The model number of my seat is 32921122 and the manufacture date is 06/03/2011. This issue happened on Saturday, September 14, 2013.

The vehicle is a 2010 Dodge Ram. While riding rear-facing in her car seat, my daughter put her foot over the side of the seat and accidentally kicked the tilt-release mechanism on the latch strap, causing the strap to loosen several inches. I am a cpst, and I am certain the seat was installed tightly and correctly before she kicked the release. I had heard of this problem happening to other people, so I diligently check my seat each time we use it. I feel the design of the seat and the placement of the tilt-release makes accidental loosening a real danger for anyone using the seat. The vehicle involved was a 2003 Honda Odyssey. Failure of the latch strap on both of my sunshine radiansl model 16500 car seats. The vehicle having this issue was a 2010 Mazda Mazda5. We have two sunshine kids radian xtsls manufactured in 09/10 and 10/10 (model # us19500) for our twins. They are installed rear-facing in our 2010 Mazda5 with super latch. On various occasions I have noticed that the super latch has become loose. At first I thought it was due to an installation error on my part, but I would tighten the super latch and have a great install and have the same problem occur. I'd say it's happened with both seats at least 3 times. I think my children are somehow bumping the buckle or resting their feet on it while we are traveling and this is loosening the buckle. It should not be this easy to loosen! I notice because the seats become very loose and there is no way that the super latch was not tight as I now check it every time I put my kids in the radians. I'm contacting diono today about replacement super latches but am very disappointed after reading online about there being over 100 complaints to the NHTSA about this problem that diono has not been required to issue a recall for their super latch. If I would have known that this seems to be a common problem with these seats, I would not have chalked up my initial problems with the super latch to an error on my part. I wonder how many other parents out there are doing that right now. (related vehicle information: model year=2010, make=mazda5, model=mazda5). This child seat problem happened on Tue., Dec. 27, 2011.

The car was a 2000 Mazda Mpv. The vehicle identification number (VIN) of the car was JM3LW28G5Y_. Since we purchased the vehicle, we have had a problems keeping our 2-year old's car seat secured properly. The seatbelts in the middle seats and rear seat will not tighten and/or loosen after buckling, causing the car seat to shift and move easily. I felt we must be doing something wrong and finally had an opportunity to return it to the dealer. After over and hour and throught the efforts of a service advisor and a lead service technician, it was determined there must be some sort of design flaw in the seatbelt which prevented the belts from locking properly. They also did not feel that installing a tether would remedy the problem to an appropriate degree of safety. They also called Mazda headquarters who informed them that yes, there is a design flaw in the seatbelts but they don't have a resolution at this time and they don't know when they will. The service advisors only recommendation to me is that I find another car seat that might work with these seats. Unfortunately, there are none. Thus, each time my family and I ride in the car, my 2-year old's life is at stake since we cannot safely install a car seat within this vehicle. Please provide me any information you can on seeking remedy to this problem. We will anxiously await your response.

The vehicle was a 2007 Volvo V50. Took car seats to pacific safety council to check proper installation of two car seats. Technician found granddaughters seat (base) stuck in rear facing position. Would not return to forward facing position. Technician had seen issue before so we removed base, returned bar to proper position and attached car seat. This was done with my assistance. Did not want child returning home in improperly installed car seat. Called britax with problem and issue was not resolved. My concern is the safely of seat. Is it going to pop back into rear facing position during an accident or prior? was there a change made in newer models (after 05)? if not recalled, were they aware of issue?. It was Mar. 16, 2009 when this child seat issue occurred.

The vehicle having this issue was a 2002 Volvo S80. The VIN of this S80 is YV1TS92D72_. About two weeks ago, I attempted to install a child safety seat in my 2002 Volvo s-80. In order to do the job properly, I looked in my owners manual for the location of the lower anchorage system. On page 12 was the illustration and location of the anchors, but I was unable to find them in the car. The next Monday I called the dealership where I had purchased the car and was informed that sometimes Volvo didn't install this part. I was told to look in the wheel-well in the trunk. The part was not there. So, I was told to stop by the dealarship and they would take care of it. Several days later, I went to the dealership, and the mechanic couldn't find the anchor either. Some discusion transpired, after which I was told that my owners manual was in error, and that my car did not come with the lower anchorage system. It was going to cost about $100 to order and install the part. I was angry. Afterall, my owners manual showed the location of this system. How could Volvo make such an error? I called Volvo customer service to complain. I was read the following statement, "Volvo reserves the right to make model changes at any time, or to change specifications or design, without notice and incurring obligation. " as a result of this statement the company confirmed that they were not going to rectify this situation unless I paid for it, since they are not responsible for the contents of their owners manual. I leased this car in may, 2002, more than halfway through the model year. I seems to me that Volvo has the obligation to see that its owners manual is current at the time of delivery. Volvo is a brand that has earned its reputation through safety. I object to the fact that they Dodge their responsibilty for safety by hiding behind some legalize. It is the company's obligation to the consumer to see that either their car is delivered as stated, or to see that any erroneous statement and illustrations are removed from the manual. It was May. 27, 2003 when this child seat issue occurred.

I purchased a 2002 Audi A6 as our "family car. " during the purchase process I inquired about the safety regulations in regards to the side airbags (rear seat) and child safety seats. I was told that as long as they were postioned properly that there was no danger to a child in a properly installed seat. Not long after recieving the vehicle, we found out the "family" was imminent. During my research into what child safety seat to purchase, I was shocked to find out that the dealership provided me with inaccurate information. I also found out that you are not supposed to place a rear-facing car seat in front of a fold down arm rest. This basically ruled out my entire back seat!! I began to work with Audi to solve the problem. I have spoken with the general manager, service manager and anyone who would listen. I realized just how ignorant they are on the subject and that I was sold this vehicle (with the upgrades/airbags) under false pretenses and inaccurate info from those who are supposed to know their cars. I have worked with the local fire department authorized to check the installation of car seats and we have found a solution. But I am not happy with the fact I must "find a solution" to a problem that should have never occured. Of course Audi will do anything I am willing to pay for, yet I don't feel I should be required to pay for their inaccurate information. They will not disable my rear airbags either! what course of action do you recommend? is there a way to have them disable my airbags? is there some way that I can make Audi take responsibilty for the knowledge, or lack there of with their employees?. It was 01/22/03 when this child seat issue occurred.

The vehicle involved was a 2010 BMW 535i. The keyfit 30 base does not stay secured to the backseat. The lock appears sprung per the installer's opinion. This is the third time I've had them out to tighten the base and finally resorting to use a locking clip. This is highly dangerous and I can provide pictures if requested. It was 09/19/12 when this child seat issue occurred.

The vehicle involved was a 2006 BMW X5. This complaint is regarding the sunshine kids monterey booster seat model no. Us15000 (which is not listed under make and model choices). The red shoulder belt guide has a slot on the middle of the bottom where you thread the belt through (unlike many other booster seats that have a slot on the back through which to thread the seat belt) and the shoulder belt often gets folded and stuck in the slot, making the shoulder belt loose if the child leans forward and then sits back. I often have to tell my child to pull the belt tight since it does not move freely through the guide. This child seat problem happened on Monday, Mar. 30, 2009.

The vehicle involved was a 1999 Buick Roadmaster. Britax roundabout # 16109s;, correctly it does not give enough rough to place the child in the carseat. There is much more play without the fix kit to actually get the child in. Their 800 number they give will not allow you to speak to anyone. For a very expensive carseat, I am very dissapointed. Do I use it without the addtional harness or do I trash over $200? thank you.
