I was driving on I-16 running about 65 mph all of a sudden l hear something like a cannon going off. My truck started weaving it took all I had to stay in control. I was finally able to get to the side of the road looking in my rear view mirror seeing a big transfer truck coming my way trying to Dodge the huge piece of tire that came off my truck. I finally was able to get out because of the traffic. The back left side of my truck was all crunched in where the tire had beaten it to death thank the good lord I was ahead of the traffic so they had time to slow down. It was a bfgoodrich lt. 287 75 r16 t/a k/o. I've been doing some research and finding out this is happening a lot with this tire why on earth has bfgoodrich not put a recall on this tire because of the complete tire separation. I am deathly afraid of the other 3 tires on my truck now. These tires are not cheap by any means.

In February of 2002 the right front tire was replaced for radial pull. On Sunday 6/2 the left front tire was replace for tire separation. On Wednesday 6/5 both rear tires failed due to tire separation at different times. The milage for four failures was approximately 18,000 plus or minus 250 miles. I am the original owner of the van and the tires were original equipment. I believe that four different tire failures on the same vehicle indicates a serious quality control issue with all the tires from that manufacturing lot.
