3 Car Stall problem of the 2002 Chevrolet 2500

Failure Date: 02/01/2010

I own a 2002 Chevrolet silverado 2500hd with 8. 1l engine. The truck has started stalling (engine completely shutting down) while I am driving at different speeds. This has happened at least 7 or 8 times now. This is very dangerous because you never know when it is going to happen or how fast you may be going. So far, I have replaced battery, battery cables, had the fuel lines serviced, and had the fuel injectors cleaned. After doing a little research, it appears that the crankshaft position sensor is the issue as is on many of these trucks. There was a recall on the 2001 trucks for this issue but not on the 2002 trucks for some reason. Costly to fix this issue. My truck only has 67,000 miles on it.

4 Car Stall problem of the 2001 Chevrolet 2500

Failure Date: 03/04/2007

Starting early March 2007, my 2001 Chevrolet 2500hd, 8. 1l truck began to stall in many and different circumstances. I was first stopped at a light on a business trip then began to go and shortly after the engine died and various lights illuminated on the dash and system warning box. From that point it has continued to stall at different speeds and different times for no apparent reason. It has restarted each time, sometimes after just a minute and sometimes up to 5 or so minutes. To date it has not been determined the cause and no one can tell me how to fix it. This is deeply troubling due to the fact that my wife drives it a lot and carries my three children with her and it has continued to stop on major roads, rural roads, and just anywhere it decides. This needs to be addressed thoroughly!!!.

5 Car Stall problem of the 2001 Chevrolet 2500

Failure Date: 02/15/2002

I have found a safety recall on a 2001 chevy silverado 8. 1l crankshaft position sensor, I have called the dealer and the chevy hot line and both of them said that the recall did not pertain to my truck, but my truck is having the same troubles as the other 8. 1l is having, my truck is stalling when im driving and when im at a stop, their is no code or dash trouble light comes on, my lights also dims quite often not always does it stall when the lights flicker, I have been having trouble for the past 6 yr and no one can find the problem, then I looked on line and someone else had the same problem and they fix the problem by changing the sensor all I ask is that my truck that has a 8. 1l be included in the safety recall as the other 8. 1l silverados thank you.
