Two problems related to transmission failure have been reported for the 1997 Chevrolet Astro. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Transmission failed.
After driving for an extended period of time transmission would shift violently through lower gears. Dealership continued to inform consumer that a TSB (technical service bulletin) would be released for this problem. However, transmission failed, and needed to be replaced.
