Two problems related to ignition have been reported for the 1999 Chevrolet Astro. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Was driving 65mph when vehicle suddenly died out. Lost power steering & brakes. Cruise control went out first. Power door locks failed to work. Would not release to open the doors. Took vehicle to dealer for the defective parts & had them repaired.
While driving about 20 mph vehicle stalled without prior warning, consumer drove to a side of road, and vehicle had to be towed. A technician stated that stalling was caused by a pinched coil wire which had to be rerouted.
