The contact owns a 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche 1500. While the contact's spouse was driving 5 mph in a parking lot, the vehicle accelerated without warning and crashed into a store. There were no warning lights illuminated during or after the crash. The vehicle was repaired and the store sustained $1,900 worth of damage. The sudden acceleration recurred, however, the driver was able to gain control. The dealer stated that for $100 they would clean the throttle body, but would not guarantee that it caused or would correct the failure. A police report was filed and photos are available.
