I am an owner of a 2013 chevy Avalanche and must say that I enjoy driving this vehicle. The problem that I have is the vehicle has been going into engine power reduced mode. This mode makes the vehicle hard to accelerate to highway speeds. The vehicle will have a code of p2128 or p2138 which is an accelator pedel ciruit problem. I changed the acceleator pedal and did not solve the problem. I changed out the throttle body sensor and still the problem remains. On the dashboard it will show check engine light on, service stablinktrac light on, and service traction control light on. I have seen other vehicle owners experience the same problems with their vehicles and told that there was no recall and have to pay for the repairs out of pocket. These are very well made vehicles but when they going into engine power reduced mode, drive ability is diminished.

The vehicle is displaying error messages reduced engine power, service stabilitrak, service traction control. It also has the related service indicator lights for the stabilitrak, the traction control, and the check engine light is on. There is a service bulletin for this issue that only addresses the 2008-2011 model years, my vehicle is a 2012 and thus not included in the current bulletin and should be added to the covered vehicle list. #11-06-04-007b : diagnosis and repair - malfunction indicator lamp (mil) illuminated, reduced power message displayed, dtc p2135 set - (April 16, 2012).

The passenger side air bag was replaced under a current recall (n212328790) however, once they fixed the issue at love chevy (inverness, FL), the air bag light stayed on. It has never shut off and after speaking with the dealership as well as Chevrolet, they refuse to fix the issue they caused. I do not know if the recall has actually been fixed. Additionally, I am unable to refuel appropriately due to another recall (that my vehicle apparently isn't a part of), however, based on the amount of people that have the same problem, it should be a wider issued recall. This is for chevy recall # 08411 for the fuel system control module. It affects the charcoal canister, along with purge value and corresponding lines. Depending on how bad, charcoal canister needs replacement, even possibly the lines, as well as the gas tank. Very expensive fix that chevy refuses to address. This is a common problem that mechanics see with these vehicles.

Tl- the contact owns a 2009 Chevrolet Avalanche. The contact stated that while driving at 50mph, the vehicle would stall casuing the services vehicle soon warning light illuminated. The contact attempted to restart the vehicle 3 to 4 times in result the vehicle would start but there would be no power for the contact to switch gears to go. The vehicle was towed to a independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the fuel system control module failed and needed to be replaced. The dealer vandergriff Chevrolet 1200 w interstate 20, arlington, TX 76017 (682)-323-2486 was contacted and stated that no recalls were under the VIN for the repairs. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated to the contact that there were no recalls under the VIN. The failure mileage was 180,000. Ck.
Excessive rusting of the frame, brake lines, transmission lines, and fuel lines. The brake, transmission and fuel lines rusted completely out and required a full replacement. The frame has extensive rust and has deteriorated well beyond the frame of my 2003 camaro z28 which is 9 years older! the truck has less than 80k and has been well maintained, so there is no explanation for the amount and level of rust, except that there were inferior metals and manufacturing materials used in its construction.

Traveling at 65mph in -25 degrees f, our check engine light and stabilink traction control lights came on. Dash display said vehicle would lose power and our engine shut-down. We pulled over on a snowy highway and read blogs and found our throttle body sensor would crack and fail at extreme cold temp. We started vehicle and it reset, but same problem happened within 5 miles. I found a auto-zone in princeton, minnesota and bought part and replaced myself. As it was new years eve no gm assistance was available. Gm tells us there was a service bulletin but they failed to notify us. Also told us a dealer would fix the problem for free, but failed to tell us how to get to a dealer with the engine shut down. I researched and found this problem common at cold temperatures. Gm was dangerously irresponsible by not notifying us. They put us in a bad situation in extremely cold temps. I fail to see why this wasn't a recall when your vehicle basically shuts down. We could have easily been rear-ended or spun in a ditch. Thanks to blogs with no help from gm, I fixed the problem myself at extreme cold temp. Gm will not cover my $190. 00 for part, not counting stress, time and labor. How can they say they verified we received no notice, but would not cover our costs. I am sure there are many more drivers put in this situation. Thanks gm.
While fueling there seems to be a backlash air bubble that occurs and it takes approximately 10 minutes to put $30 worth of fuel. While pumping the gas no matter how slow or fast as the safety is in place to stop the fuel from coming out of the fuel neck where it meets the fuel going in this is normal to kick off the fuel so spillage does not become a problem however when you stop fueling there is a burp back as in a air bubble that splashes outside the vehicle which could potentially splash in a face or on your skin and it also runs down the side of the body of the vehicle again that is when fueling has stopped it burps the fuel out of the vehicle. Obviously the vehicle is stationary while fueling. This occurs no matter what gas station is used old new it doesn't matter.

There is a fuel smell that occurs when vehicle is running and immediately when ignition is turn to on position especially on the driver side of the vehicle.
Two weeks ago driving 60mph on highway in snow engine light illuminates and lose total power. "reduce power mode" illuminated but engine shut off. We almost got rear ended by a tractor trailer on us 48 in wv. On side of road for 2 hrs in 20 degree weather waiting on aaa (no shoulder on hway) and motor starts. Take it to garage and get throttle position sensor (tps) code ans stabilitrak/abs code. We had accidentally hit the onstar button a minute before this and mechanic thought that was related so he cleared code and sent us on our way. For two weeks we were good andit happened again on highway in rain us 70east this weekend, again in middle of highway. This time car started after five minutes. Took car to dealer and they state the tps needs replacing and front wheel speed sensor broken. There is a gm service bulletin #11273b where gm acknowledges tps issue and covers replacement of tps for 2008-2011 vehicles. Also bulletin pip3089b for bad wiring to tps for 2003-2006 Avalanches. Gm denied my service despite the fact that a 2007 tps and throttle body are the same exact part number as the defective one. This is super dangerous and extremely frequent as there are 550 posts alone on edmunds as well as many reports to https://forums. Edmunds. Com/discussion/5759/GMC/yukon-denali/GMC-yukon-reduced-engine-power-message/p22. Please assist as they are not standing behind a defective and deadly product as the computer cuts total power right on highway. . .

The fuel lines rubbing together causing fuel to dump every where right next to the cat on the driver side of the truck n this is not a recall. Then I say its attepmed murder charge agaisnt chevy. . . .
The defective fuel lines rubbed together and caused a leak. I paid a local dealership about $1100 dollars to replace the fuel lines as it was unsafe. My vehicle is not under a recall but in researching, it was discovered that others have a recall. I opened an incident with Chevrolet as a defect but they were not able to assist as my truck is over 70k miles and pasted the warranty, the fuel lines are next to the catalytic converter and would have caused a fire.
After driving the smell of fuel comes from the engine by the drivers door. I contacted gm and my vehicle does not show on the list of this known recall. They passed me to a local dealership which stated my vehicle is not one that falls under the recall and admitted they had fixed others with similar issues. This is appalling that a manufacture can assist some customers but not all. I will never purchase another gm vehicle again.
The contact owns a 2008 Chevrolet Avalanche. The contact stated that there was a fuel odor coming from the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 143,000.
I was driving approximately 15 to 20 mph down a hill that was curvy and all of a sudden my truck completely shuts off as I was driving down the hill and almost went into a ditch because the truck just shut off while in drive and luckily I was quick enough to put it in neutral so I could steer it away from the ditch and I turned the ignition over and luckily it turned on while in neutral otherwise I would of crashed into the ditch. Then it shut off again about 30 seconds after and luckily I was able to put it in neutral again so I could steer and coast down the hill because it wouldn't start up the second time when it all shut off. I was stranded at the bottom of the hill near a light so I tried to start it again and it would keep trying to turn over but wouldn't start again. I was stranded in the middle of the road and had to call aaa to tow my Avalanche to my house. This could of killed me if I wasn't quick enough to figure out to put it in neutral to be able to steer. There should be a recall on whatever made this happen and I still don't know what is wrong with it because it happened late last night and I was looking for recalls and it doesn't show anything on this.
I've had my truck for 4 years now and its been in the shop 5 times due to transmission problems. I've gotten the transmission rebuilt 5 times and its still giving me problems. 6/2014- present day.
Supply and return fuel lines have a flexible, shielded section at the frontmost end . . . The hoses cross and therefore rub against one another . . . Top hose became worn through, causing copious quantities of fuel to be pumped out onto the cross member and roadway . . . Extreme fire hazard.
As I was traveling on the highway at 70mph the engine sputtered and stopped running causing me to lose all power assist and to coast to the side of the highway. The vehicle was towed to my mechanic where it was discovered that the fuel line had rusted out and needed to be replaced at my expense.
Gas was dripping out of one of lines, after smelling gasoline for a month or so. Today the truck will not start and I'm afraid to jump start it.
This vehicle has had oil consumption problems since purchased. It runs out of oil 1500 miles after an oil change. Several consumer complaints have proved this is a very common problem and suggested reporting it to the epa. My truck now needs a new engine because of this common defect with the afm and bad lifters in the 2007 Chevrolet Avalanches. It is completely abnormal for an engine to burn this much oil into the environment. Not to mention the consumers who are now being forced to replace engines due to this problem. It needs to be fixed.
The contact owns a 2008 Chevrolet Avalanche. The contact stated that while driving 40 mph, the vehicle began to hesitate. The contact stated that once he reached 60 mph, the failure stopped. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection where they stated that the fuel module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 60,000.
I noticed a strong smell of gasoline and upon inspection found a significant fuel leak under the driver's door. A closer look reveals that there are 2 rubber fuel lines that touch and have worn through each other, causing them to leak fuel. This is all within inches of the exhaust system. Any reasonable person would assume that this is a fire hazard! this is an obvious design flaw that could easily be avoided.
The contact owns a 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche. The contact stated the brake and fuel lines was rusted and leaking fluid. In addition, the contact stated that the frame was rusted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 110,000 and the current mileage was 140,000.
Driving home from work, I notice a raw gas smell. Pulled into my driveway, left the truck running and got out to see what was going on. Looked under the vehicle and saw gas pouring out. Stopped the engine and got under the truck for a closer look. Upon inspection, I noticed that the two plastic braid over rubber fuel lines were coiled over each other causing them to rub, wear away the plastic braid and rub the rubber hose to the point of creating a hole. This is where the gas was spraying out from, right neat to the exhaust pipe! I immediately got out from under the truck for fear that it might ignite. Looked on-line and saw multiple complaints exactly what I found on my inspection!.
Noticed a strong gas odor in the garage. I couldn't see any leakage until I started (pressurized the fuel lines). I noticed a braided area of the fuel lines that cross over each other, touching, which caused them to rub together creating a pin hole in each line. When pressurized, they shoot fuel out. Luckily, they didn't cause a fire as we had just finished a 700 mile trip with our grand kids. The shop wants $805 to replace the lines. This is a safety hazard that should be recalled. Very dangerous!!! ## VIN failed ## 2005 chevy Avalanche ##.
Arrived at work this morning and my 2005 chevy Avalanche was leaking fuel, upon further inspection the fuel lines were rubbing together and caused a break in the line.
The airbag indicator light is on and off. Took it to serive centers the light came off for a week then came back again. Mechanic told me the spring coul needs to be replaced got it replaced but the problem is still the same. When ithe weather is cold the lights comes off when its warm the lights are one told the mechanics they said its the connection they tried to fix light will come of for a few days then back again. The second problem is the engine light - they told me its the fuel ejection pump got it replaced but not resolved. I keep taking tthe truck back to the service centers but after a week the light indicators are on. I also failed my inspections due to this problem. The only reason I pass is that it has to be fixed but after inspection the lights are on again. I have read all complaints about this problems but GMC motors doesn't have an active recall for it its just a communication stating the problem. The truck is still running but this safety issue needs to be resolved by the company. And I think thats part of the reason tgey dont make the avalance anymore.
Engine shut down completely while driving. Brakes wasn't working properly.
Cracked dashboard on passenger side where airbag is fitted. Upper lefthand side of airbag. Traction control/stabilitrac system: service indicator warnings activate, switches from 2 wheel drive to 4 wheel drive high even though selector is in 2wd mode. The first occurrence of this was at 70k miles, then again at 90k. Then again at 97k the transmission was damaged and needed to be replaced. Again at 101k miles the ringgear in the rear axel was destroyed. Rear axel was replaced. Fifth time for those counting, 116k miles service stabilitrac and service traction control warnings, switching from 2wd to 4wd high while moving, while parked, selector in 2wd position with someone at the wheel or cab empty. Evaporative emission control warning. Check engine light on, code comes back to eec. Indicating a leak in the return line. The first time this was replaced at 70k miles, this is the second time. And no it is not the gas cap being loose or needing replaced. The first time there was "water in the connector" (yeah sure).
Tl- the contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche 1500. The contact stated that while parked, the vehicle would not start and the engine warning light continued to illuminate in the process. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed that an unknown part related to the fuel system needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
The contact owns a 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche 1500. The contact stated that fuel fumes emitted into the interior of the vehicle. The contact stated that the abs warning lamp flashed randomly and the brake pedal became extremely difficult to depress to stop the vehicle. The seat belts failed to work properly to secure and retract. The vehicle was taken to a repair shop and the fuel lines were replaced; however, the failure recurred. The dealer replaced the cables associated with the tailgate. The vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign numbers: 06e043000 (fuel system, gasoline), 05v163000 (seat belts), 05v043000 (service brakes, hydraulic) and 04v129000 (structure). The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 30,000.
