Rear brake lines burst while I was in motion. I was going down the highway and had to use the gears to slow down. They were corroded through. Same thing happened in 2016 with my fuel pump line corroded through. Was leaking while I was driving. Did not notice for a few days until there was puddles of gas where I park. Over the past few years my cladding has been falling off from rust through on the bottom secure points.

My 02 Avalanche has had all the fuel, em brake, wheel hub while husband was stopping at light when the top caliper bolt came out wedging the caliper between the wheel and bolt this stopped the truck sounded like gun fire and the rest end went 8 ft into the air. Air bag not deployed. Cost days pays and $ new bolt to get back on road, no injury. Plus drvr fr axle pass too. 2nd tranny only 4yrs apart has failed again with my 6 grkids on my 56th b. D. In TX 105 * heat index. It took 4 hours to get home having to stop every 10 min for 20 min because it was overheating. My grkids were heat exhausted as was I. I have had to replace the short column in my steering and I have been jiggling the key to start it for appx 8 years now. 2 fuel pumps in less than a year the last one was stuck for 3 hours at gas station w/3 grkids while my d-n-law was waiting to meet me 2 hours from her home. I think that covers most of the investigations and complaints and not one did chevy pay for. I didn't bother asking my husband has 2500 school hours in auto mechanic repair. My trim is faded and have to oil it to keep it from cracking. The truck still drives excellent but you people are who I'm going to sue if something catastrophic happens in that truck for your laxidazical attitude in enforcing the safety laws. How much kick back do you receive from the car companies to not recall their cars and trucks? don't be shocked it is obvious big money dictates what gets recalled. People die for the greed of others and that is pathetic. If you enforced the safety laws stricter there would not be people dying or badly mft'd vehicles causing wrecks scaring people causing ptss. I think this agency is all about making people think you do something when you dont, at least not until 600million cars have to be recalled. 2 should be enough. 1 a repair 2 not a coincidence. Thank you, ns. All while driving.

Module kit,f/tnk f/pmp,lvl s/fuel pump module assembly is leaking fuel, becase of poor grade plastic and metal construction, this also happened on my 2002 trailblazer but was covered by a recall,no such recall covers my 2004 avalache even though it is the same problem, cost to fix 870. 89 estimate, to remove gas tank and replace fuel pump module assembly, cant send pics have drop gas tank and that cost is 250. 00, vehile stars slowly then when parked empties fuel lines on top of tank then on to ground very dangerous, service manager big jim 319 261 0999 , says this is a common problem, he knew what it was before inspecting on houste, if 2002 is covered why is 2004 not covered? want my 1000. 00 back from gm.

Tl-the contact owns a 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche 1500. The contact stated that when the vehicle was turned off fuel leaked from the fuel lines and fumes emitted into the interior of the vehicle. The contact also stated that the abs warning lamp flashed and the brake pedal became extremely difficult to depress. The contact also stated that the seat belts failed to operate correctly to secure and retract. The vehicle was taken to an independent facility to be diagnosed for the failure. The contact was informed that the fuel pump modular assembly, module kit and fuel tank needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 06e043000 (fuel system, gasoline), 05v163000 (seat belts), 05v043000 (service brakes, hydraulic). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. I purchased the 2006 vehicle used in Dec 2013. In 2014 the transmission went bad. In 2015 I replaced the transmission and brake pads & roaders. 2016 replaced the fuel pump because it also went bad, replaced tires (normal wear), bought a new battery because it died. 2017 it needed two hub bearing and both front wheel hub replaced. This is an ongoing problem with this vehicle! I just found out my air bag sensor will need to be removed and replaced. All my money has been flushed down to this vehicle. I don't recommend anyone buying a chevy truck.
Vehicle running fine and no warning lights - noticed fuel smell in garage and took in for oil change and see what's up - found the entire top of the fuel tank was a puddle of fuel and was running down sides. Had the tank dropped and found the top of the fuel pump was rotted away where the pressure and return lines exit pump and before they attach to the plastic fuel lines. Only leaks when vehicle running so had no spots in garage but was leaking alot while driving - 25 mile drive to shop used 7 gallons of fuel.
The vehicle is equipped with the ability to handle flex fuel after you run the flex fuel then switch back to unleaded the fuel pump is damaged, I've spoken to other owners that own an Avalanche same model year and they are experiencing the same issue but gm ignores this. Can you offer any feed back for this ? if so thanks.

My 2008 Avalanche with 72,000 miles on it, is completely rotting away underneath. Ive had to replace many parts, shocks, autoride compressor, fuel pump module, had body rust repaired, have had 3 door handles fall right off. . Last 2 mechanics told me that all parts located underneath truck are rotting away and that I need to get rid of truck because it is not worth repairing. I have tried to work with gm but they claim that its normal wear and tear. Paid 30k for truck Dec 2011. Have membership to car wash, and keep it very clean. Undercarriage included. Cant get my service suspension light to shut off, even the dealer cant. This truck should not be rotting away the way it is. . Please help.
