1 Fuel Hoses Lines/piping And Fittings problem of the 2002 Chevrolet Blazer

Failure Date: 10/02/2010

The fuel pump went out. It was replaced with a brand new pump, then 4 months later there is an obvious fuel line issue. My sons 2002 Blazer died while going down the street and there seems to be a leak in the fuel lines. After spending $331 for the fuel pump and now the chevy dealer wants over $200 for the fuel lines for a problem that seems to be with the truck itself. I have read numerous complaints about the fuel lines in this year and make truck with no recalls I know of to resolve the problem.

2 Fuel Hoses Lines/piping And Fittings problem of the 1996 Chevrolet Blazer

Failure Date: 01/09/2008

I recently was on the way home from denver, CO on the highway. I stopped for fuel noticing my vehicle was consuming more gas than usual. I fueled up and left. When I arrived home I noticed gasoline dripping on the ground. I immediately called a mechanic. My wife's father is a certified mechanic and owns his own shop in denver. He fixed the leak, but told me the leak started because the fuel lines were rubbing the transmission and showed me. To my surprise the fuel lines were not secured in their proper location. I have never had any work done to the fuel lines or even any work done in the area of the problem. So I took the Blazer back home to colorado springs. About a month later I noticed the fuel smell was back. I popped the hood because I did not see any fuel leaking. The fuel was pouring out of the lines at the top of the engine where they connect to the couplings for removal of the engine. I then decided to take the Blazer to a closer location for repair. This location was daniels Chevrolet located in colorado springs. They told me that the o-rings were pinched and that the gasket where the fuel lines go into the intake manifold was bad. I paid them 480. 60 to repair the o-rings and gasket. Four days later, the smell of fuel is back and the leak is there again at the couplings on the back of the engine were the dealership repaired them the first time. Now the Blazer is back at the dealership again for the second time for the same issue. The vehicle is my wife's, but due to the problem with the fuel, I have been driving it. The fuel leaks right on top of the exhaust pipe. This is could be a very dangerous situation if the fuel were to ignite. My wife had taken the Blazer to work three nights after the dealership repaired the o-rings and gasket, she had almost passed out while driving due to the fuel vapors entering the passenger compartment. Now the dealership wants to charge me again for the same repair they did. I am at wits end.

3 Fuel Hoses Lines/piping And Fittings problem of the 2002 Chevrolet Blazer

Failure Date: 12/12/2006

My fiance had purchased a 2002 s10 Chevrolet Blazer in October of 2004 because he wanted me to have something that was safe and dependable to drive. Just recently my children were driving the Blazer when all of a sudden there wasn't any power from the motor. The Blazer stalled and my daughter who was driving tried to restart the engine when a passing motorist yelled out to her to get out of the car that it was on fire. The entire engine compartment had caught on fire from a faulty fuel line fitting. I was unaware of a recall to replace this and needless to say I am highly upset that I had come very close to losing two of my children. A car can be replaced but my children's lives cannot. This problem needs to be brought out into the public so others will know of its possible dangers. This time I was extremely lucky, but another consumer may not be. The same exact problem occurred on my vehicle that had been previously reported by another consumer. "if the fitting becomes disconnected while the vehicle is in motion, the engine would stop due to inadequate fuel supply and cause loss of power steering assist. If an ignition source were present, fuel leakage from a disconnected fuel filter fitting could result in a fire". Well in this case the word "could" is replaced with the word "can". What does it take to get the word out that there are faulty mechanisms that can cause great bodily harm? I was never notified by the dealership nor general motors corp. That this was problematic. The vehicle is beyond repairs. I am thanking the good lord above that the lives of my children were saved. Even though I have contacted this organization, my search for answers will not end, I am also planning on contacting the general motor corp and the dealership where the vehicle was originally purchased. I will not rest until I know that these issues will be strictly dealt with.

4 Fuel Hoses Lines/piping And Fittings problem of the 2002 Chevrolet Blazer

Failure Date: 10/13/2006

Hello, my vehicle is a 2002 Chevrolet Blazer, that I leased then bought. I am the only owner. On 10-13-06, I smelled gas when I walked up to the vehicle to get in. I took the Blazer into mike shaw (gm dealer) at 1080 s. Colorado blvd. Denver, colorado 80246 to be checked. Mike shaw found that one of the fuel lines coming out of the fuel pump was leaking gas. Mike shaw's service adviser (calvin scott) told me that they thought a rock hit the fuel line. The service technician (michael j. Tymitz) doing the work on the Blazer showed me the leak before any repairs were made. The complete fuel pump needed to be replaced at the cost was $890. 51. I asked mike shaw if gm would pay for the repair and they told me no. The vehicle is out of the factory warrant time wise, but only has 31,900 miles on it. I called gm myself and told them what happened and gm paid for the labor $437. 88 part of the repair. At gm I talked to amanda markham, (service request number is 1-4384 25465). Chevrolet division, gm corporation, p. O. Box 33170, detroit, mi. 48232-5170. Telephone number is 866-790-5600 x 11634. It seems to me if the fuel lines can be hit by rocks that a shield should be put around the fuel lines by the fuel pump. I my self, do not know if a rock hit the line or not. I would be more inclined to think if was a defected part. I know I am still out $452. 63 for this repair. The possibility of a recall for this does need to be investigated. This could have been a big danger. Note: I do have the old fuel pump if you need to check it. Thanks. Robert lindsay.

8 Fuel Hoses Lines/piping And Fittings problem of the 2000 Chevrolet Blazer

Failure Date: 12/06/2002

Acceleration pedal hard to push, acts like it sticks. The dealership cleaned the throttle body, they said that there was carbon build up which caused the sticking. This is the second time I had this cleaned. When I asked the dealer, he said this was very common with the 4. 3 v6 engines. Dealer recommended adding fuel injector cleaner to stop the build up of carbon. I had been doing that. Seems like it lessened the build up but did not prevent it. I suppose this is going to be normal maintenance, similar to an oil change. I have had other Blazers and have never had this problem, it would be nice if the manufacturer could resolve the problem. Ts.
