Strong gas smell on and off since August 2005. Looked over by mechanic - was told I have a internal gas leak - and that I was driving a "fire hazard". Gas leaking in engine - small cup in area of engine - filled with gasoline.

I was driving to texas over christmas and after I stopped in colorado and got fuel by the time I reached wichita kansas is when the fuel gauge started to stay at full when I knew it was almost empty. The gauge bounces around when it is in park or neutral. I travel a lot and it makes it very difficult to judge just how far I can drive before I have to refuel. No repairs have been made as of yet.
