The events that lead up to the failure of the fuel injection system equipped on my 2001 Chevrolet Blazer are in correlation to the manufacturers knowledge of having installed a defective product on 1996 - 2002 vehicles with sequential central port injection. After having to deal with the problem of figuring out how to fix the code p0300( random cylinder misfire) on my 01 Blazer, I realized it was time to get more help from outside sources who have experienced similar issues with their vehicles. I've done enough research to know now that after eight years of owning the truck and dumping money into unnecessary repairs that Chevrolet should fix this problem at their cost since they knew about it after being investigated by the California epa research division on air pollution back in 2003. They found the scpi system installed on models between 1996 and 2002 to be faulty creating a problem with the start up of many suvs which lead to emissions failure. I'm researching this now because I've finally connected the dots and realize that Chevrolet knew about this problem many years ago and they cut a deal with the epa to extend the warranty coverage on such vehicles for 10 years or 200k miles in an attempt to satisfy California regulations. Well, what about the rest of the united states and how we deal with air pollution. I thought gm and Chevrolet wanted to be the company that would set the example in "going green" for our planet. It doesn't make sense until you realize the amount of money that they save by not having to replace faulty fuel systems on older model vehicles which happen to be driven by people who are a lot smarter than they think. I've taken the liberty of filing my claim with chevy to resolve this issue. I'm hoping that this complaint along with valuable information on the internet as well as your web site can inform others of their rights and how we should all be covered under warranty to fix the problem permanently. Thank you for your time.

1998 Blazer fuel injectors clog, engines cuts out, no response, stalling, back fires, shuts down, three times fuel injectors replaced, told "that model known for that. " arizona car on arizona gas; also driver side seat adjuster latch broke off. Cost $1500 each time to replace injectors, same problem with new injectors, unreliable vechilce, driver is 76 and travels to summer home in mountains, 500 mile stretch, stranded on road, 50 miles from nearest town in 100+ temperatures.
My 2000 Chevrolet Blazers fuel level sending unit went out after 6 mos of owning the vehicle I bought it used in 2003 and all the sudden the gas gage wasn't working so I took it in to see what was wrong and I was told that the fuel level sending unit went out. So I started asking around and a lot of owners of the same make, model, and year also complained that theirs went out as well I got quotes on how much to fix it and was told that the price range was $380-$460. And I would have to replace the whole fuel tank just to get it fixed. Also the rear-end differential broke and it took 3 months to finally find one because the manufacturer doesn't make the part for that year anymore. I am very disappointed in the quality of my car and strongly regret buying it with all the problems it has.

Besides the fuel injection system going out of this vehicle there is something called a barring in the heater and air thing that we need fixed. When we run the heat or the air the car gets really loud. My mechanic called johny morris and they said that they have had tons of Blazers brought back to be fixed because of the fuel injectors. What I want to know is, if there is so many being brought back to be fixed why doesn't Chevrolet do a recall on the fuel injectors? its not like its a cheap part to fix. I bought this Blazer as is with no warranty but you wouldn't think that something this major would go wrong when the vehicle is only 2 yrs old.
Fuel injectors fouled and vehicle would not run. One injector was replaced, others were cleaned. Dealer stated it was bad fuel and to use only mobil gas, chevron was no good. Chevron was contacted and they said it was a known defect in the injection system. Chevrolet was contacted and they said there was no problem. Fuel mileage started going down after repairs. Car was again towed at 8,900 miles, dealer stated that it was out of fuel, which would mean the car is now only getting 10-miles per gallon. Dealer stated that this was okay and the computer would tell them if anything was wrong. No solution offered, no test other than checking the computer for codes was performed. This dealer stated to only run shell gas, all others present a problem. Again, chevron states that this is a known problem with the injectors. The epa allows a car to get this kind of mileage without reporting it to the public?.
Fuel injector failed causing fuel to fill wiring harness and caused damage to computer. Nm.
Fuel injectors fail every 3,000 miles. They are constantly being replaced and cleaned. I have taken the truck to the original dealership which is 55 miles away from me. The gas gauge does not work and indicates the incorrect amount of fuel. The indicator fluctuates from full to empty as the truck is being driven. My case number with Chevrolet is #990453585.
