Vehicle gear shifter is stiff and difficult to pass from park to drive--the gear shifter gets stuck in neutral often. The entire dash and instrument cluster goes black during driving and will not come back on until hours later even after the vehicle has been turned off and back on. This has caused me to be unable to see my speed, turn signals, fuel gauges or any engine controls. This leaves me unable to operate or control my vehicle. This is a huge safety issue when driving as I am unable to determine my speed or see any of my vehicles controls or warnings. The front passenger seat motor has a horrible vibration and struggles to adjust the seat properly. I have contacted multiple dealerships on multiple occasions regarding these issues and have been told that the extended warranty will not cover any of these issues although I was told it would when I purchased. Chevy has refused to offer assistance with towing the vehicle to a dealership when the cluster stops working and encourages me to drive a vehicle that is not operational. The service manager at one location told me this was a known issue with the vehicle.

The front passenger seat belt was not clicking in. There was no damage done to the seat belt it just stopped working. The car is only 3 years old the seatbelt should not fail this is a safety issue. I had to pay $366 to fix it at the dealer. They said it was no longer under warranty and since there was not a recall they would not pay for it.

The contact owns a 2003 Chevrolet Blazer. While driving 5 mph and looking in the blind spot, the contact stated that the passenger seat blinded him more. The seat prevented him from seeing other vehicles in his blind spot and nearly caused a crash. The contact would have to place the seat all the way down or forward in order to see properly. The dealer was notified of the failure a few years ago, but did not assist. The current mileage was approximately 19,000 and failure mileage was approximately 4,000.

I have had numerous problems with my 2000 chevy Blazer LS 4x4. Under warranty the dealer replaced the oil lines by the oil filter, whole seat mechanism, driver side window motor, rear shock. They also fixed my hood rattle after 5 visits to the dealer and I told them what was wrong the first time it went in. Since then at 40,000 miles the driver side wheel bearing went out and had it replaced and at the same time had the fuel pump replaced since that went out also. At 50,000 miles the same one went out again and had it replaced. Now at 68,000 miles the passenger side wheel bearing is bad. Also on my first wheel bearing replacement, they told me the ball joints were very loose and should think about replacing those also. These things should never be going wrong with such low miles. From what I am reading on the web and hearing from the dealers, this is a very frequent problem that chevy will not recall and take responsibility. I sure am happy that I haven't had a wheel fall off and kill someone yet.

Seat recline levers snapped off without warning. These units are made from zinc die casting and should have not been used. Gm will do nothing to repair, the repairs are over three hundred dollars to replace with similar zinc rods. The local dealer said they see this all of the time. I know of 5 people with similar problems. Consumer service will not do anything about it, normal wear and tear!.
When reclining the drive seat, the latch snapped. As a result, the driver seat is unstable. Dealer has been notified. Ph.
The driver lifted the handle to recline the passenger side seat and the handle broke, without using excessive force. A week later the driver side handle broke also. There is a tis bulletin (220801) for this problem. Ts the driverside handle was replaced prior to purchase and broke after only 34,000 miles.
No summary listed for above vehicle.
The gas pedal sticks 75% of the time upon initial acceleration, whether that is from a stopped position or accelerating after slowing. The sticking is such that force has to be exerted to get the pedal to depress thereby causing lurching of the vehicle. In parking lot situations or on icy roads this can be potentially very dangerous. Also, both front seat adjusters that allow the seat to be repositioned have broken off while trying to repostion the seat. When we reported these items to our dealer they said these are common problems they are seeing frequently. If this is so I feel it is a defect of the manufacturer. The seat levers were plastic painted to look like metal and both broke off within a week of each other. Dt.
The rod that connects the reclining handle to the seat. The metal actually came off with the handle, so the seat is stuck in an unsafe position. Dt.
Consumer stated the seat was repaired and the cushion was replaced.

In a period of twelve months, handle used to recline the seat on the driver's side has been replaced twice and needs to be replaced again. The handle automatically breaks off in the driver's hand when the seat is reclined. The dealership is aware of the problem. Please provide any further information.
The driver's seat is loose on its track and causes the driver to experience involuntary movement. (attorney for consumer) yh.
When driving vehicle seat has to be hit more than once to lock into place. Also, the tensioner drive belt came apart. Had to be towed. The dealership has been notified.
We've had numerous problems with the same dealership in getting our vehicle repaired. We feel this is a safety issue, because if your seat can't be adjusted properly you can be injured by the air bag, and also you can't adjust your seat to gain clear visibility. This is the third time in a little over a year we've had this part break, and every time we try to get it fixed there is always a few days of delay and they don't give a loaner car because they say it's driveable.
Driver'ss side seat has a litte hole from which a sharp piece of metal sticks out.

Passenger's seat adjustor lever position causes the occupant's clothing to get stuck in this lever, almost injuring the occupant while exiting out of the vehicle. The 1999 Blazer changed the location of the passenger's adjustor lever.
Both front seat covers have torn 4 times in less than 4 years, they have been replaced each time by the dealer, but this is only a temp. Fix, they each tear at the lumber switch which is very sharp, gm has been notifed but they just keep replacing the seat covers, they will not investigate the design problem.
Bar within driver's and passeger's side seats numbs drivers legs, possible manufacturing defect. Owner is very concerned for safety.
