37 Steering problem of the 2019 Chevrolet Blazer

Failure Date: 08/01/2024

I keep getting this message that pops up, "steering assist reduced drive with care". At the same time this happens the temp gauge stays on cold, the ac quits working, the engine fan is on high, and most of the time I get code po128. We have had it in to the dealer and they said the its the thermostat or the temp sensor. From what I am reading it could be a factory issue with the emi issue from sensitive ect circuitry. This has been an ongoing issue for us for over a year.

39 Steering problem of the 2020 Chevrolet Blazer

Failure Date: 05/10/2024

Vehicle keeps throwing “steering assistance reduced please drive with care” message. It causes my car fan to constantly run. It also causes the coolant gauge to not work the needle drops below that cool like it’s not on and then the car won’t blow cold air from the vents. This message tells me that something could be wrong with the steering which puts my safety at risk. This issue has been happening to me on and off for months now and there are multiple complaints of multiple chevy owners having the same problem this issue needs to be addressed.

43 Steering problem of the 2019 Chevrolet Blazer

Failure Date: 03/03/2024

Received repeated message on display " steering assist reduced, drive with care" engine races at times and auto stop quicks working. Could lead to a crash if steering is restricted due to p0128 code was repeatedly triggered as a fault code. Turned out to be thermostat which is being replaced on thousands of these vehicles. You can search for the message. Gm is replacing under powertrain warranty however many vehicles are beyond warranty. This is approximately a $1000 repair.

44 Steering problem of the 2020 Chevrolet Blazer

Failure Date: 02/07/2024

As I was driving, my engine coolant temperature gauge went from normal level down all the way pegged to c. Message appears on my dashboard "steering assist is reduced. Drive with care". Also, radiator fan continuously runs as if the air conditioner was turned on, which it was not. After searching the internet and confirmed by dealerships and the shop I had my car repaired, this same issue with the coolant temp sensor and thermostat is a very common occurrence on these generation chevy Blazers. It just amazes me and disappoints me that this type of failure on a car happens as soon as 70,000 miles. Should last for much much longer before this type of failure happens.

45 Steering problem of the 2021 Chevrolet Blazer

Failure Date: 01/29/2024

The failing component is the esc/power steering. It is available for inspection. It is currently at bayway Chevrolet in pearland, texas. My safety and the safety of others is at risk when the power steering fails not allowing me to turn out of the way from road hazards or even make legal turns. This could result in an auto accident causing bodily injury or death to me or other drivers. Yes, a service shop in alvin was able to see/reproduce the errors. No, however the vehicle is currently in the shop being looked at by service techs. There were no warning lights, messages, or other indications prior to Monday, 1/29/24 around 2pm est, when this happened. The vehicle was driven home from work that evening. The vehicle was not driven all day Tuesday, 1/30/24. Today, Wednesday, I drove the vehicle to the service shop in alvin, texas to replace the battery. Around 10:45am est, the errors/messages came on. I drove back to the battery shop in alvin and they ran the codes. This is where they were able to feel the steering tighten up. I drove the vehicle to bayway Chevrolet for repairs. Once I receive an estimate or repair invoice, I would be happy to send that over.

47 Steering problem of the 2019 Chevrolet Blazer

Failure Date: 12/01/2023

My vehicle was diagnosed with a faulty thermostat, specifically that the thermostat was sticking and needs replaced. My vehicle is at approximately 59,150 miles as of 12/27/2023. Prior to the diagnosis of the faulty thermostat, I intermittently received a warning message "steering assist reduced - drive with caution", the thermostatic fan would run at full speed, and the p0128 check engine code was illuminated. These symptoms began approximately at the beginning of December 2023. The problem was confirmed by a certified gm dealership service department.

48 Steering problem of the 2019 Chevrolet Blazer

Failure Date: 09/15/2023

Here are the problems I've been facing: 1. Shift to park error: my Blazer often displays a "shift to park" message, even when the vehicle is already in the park position. This happens randomly and has no discernible pattern. As a result, the vehicle won't turn off, and I'm forced to repeatedly shift back and forth and apply excessive force to engage the park mode. 2. Steering assist reduced message and cold temperature gauge: another recurring issue is the appearance of a "steering assist reduced" message. At the same time, the temperature gauge gets stuck at the cold position, and the check engine light remains on. This seems to be a common problem among Blazer owners and requires immediate attention through a recall. 3. Fuel-related acceleration problem: I've noticed a fuel-related problem that affects acceleration. The vehicle experiences sudden slowdowns, with the rpms dropping, even when I maintain a steady throttle position. Then, out of nowhere, the Blazer regains speed and accelerates. This unpredictable behavior is dangerous and needs to be addressed immediately. 4. Random loss of power steering and power brakes: on several occasions, my Blazer has lost power steering and power brakes without any warning. It's incredibly unnerving and puts both the driver and others on the road at risk. It's important to note that my Blazer is well-maintained and has less than 60,000 miles on it. These issues should not be happening under these circumstances. I strongly believe that these problems require the attention of the manufacturer, and I urge them to initiate recalls to rectify these safety concerns.

49 Steering problem of the 2021 Chevrolet Blazer

Failure Date: 08/11/2023

The contact owned a 2021 Chevrolet Blazer. The contact stated while driving 69-70 mph, the steering wheel strongly pulled to the left side and into the roadway median. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle hit the median and bounced, facing incoming traffic. The contact slammed on the brakes and shifted into park (p). The air bags deployed. The contact was able to exit the vehicle with the assistance of bystanders. Emergency services arrived at the scene but the contact was not transported to the hospital at the time. The contact later received medical assistance and was informed she had sustained soreness on the neck, shoulders and bruises all over the body. Additionally, the contact was advised she had sustained post traumatic stress disorder (ptsd). A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow lot, where it was totaled. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 24,000.

51 Steering problem of the 2020 Chevrolet Blazer

Failure Date: 03/18/2023

My 2020 chevy Blazer began demonstrating possible problems with the transmission in November 2021 which have continued to date. The rpms will rapidly increase and the car will feel as if it is jolting forward. If driving below 20 mphs, when I try to accelerate to a higher speed, the car will drag and then skip forward. I have videos showing this and have taken it to the dealership on two occasions but it couldn't be replicated and no codes show during diagnositics. The car is currently being repaired (at the dealership since 3/18/22) due to 3 separate concerns that are CO-occuring which seems quite strange to me. The thermostat has gone bad, causing my check engine light to come on while driving (and having to have it towed). The car is also not recognize my remote key to operate the car. I am also getting "steering assist reduced" notifications while driving. I had the battery replaced 3 weeks ago because that was felt to be the cause of the steering assist notice, but after 1 week the notices started occurring again. I will also occasionally get "ecm" notices while driving. I don't see how all of this could be happening at the same time and it not be indicative of a more major powertrain issue. I do not feel safe driving the car, even when these separate issues are repaired because I am fearful of the core, underlying cause.

52 Steering problem of the 2020 Chevrolet Blazer

Failure Date: 01/10/2023

Value stem gasket covers need replacing oil spilling out everywhere it’s a 2020 should not be happening oil leak hot and cold temperature not working properly a warning flashing for the power steering being deceased and not use that car get moved every hour just about always in jt working or just taking a break the auto shut of makes transmission slip or sounds like it is.

53 Steering problem of the 2019 Chevrolet Blazer

Failure Date: 10/16/2022

Initially received stabilitrak dash warning when brakes were applied for longer than 30 seconds (ie. , stop light) for several days with no sel. Then, while driving along a secondary highway at approximately 60mph, all dash lights lit up, power steering failed, power brake assist failed, and vehicle started stumbling. Pulled to side of road and vehicle shut off. Performed restart and was able to complete drive home (approx 3 miles). Upon arrival and shutting off vehicle, all dash lights illuminated then shut off. Vehicle would not start after (no click, no turnover, indicating failed battery). Attempted to charge/maintain battery but battery charger indicated sulfated battery. Multimeter showd 7. 5v. Replaced battery and car started normally but all computer functions were reset to factory defaults. The failure of the power steering and brakes due to a faulty battery is an extreme safety issue. The fact that the battery is only 3 years old and internally corroded to the point it can't be charged is both disappointing and an additional safety hazard.

54 Steering problem of the 2022 Chevrolet Blazer

Failure Date: 03/22/2022

We were sold a new vehicle with known computer problems. The dealership knew of the defects but sold it to us anyway. They consider it a warranty issue. Chevrolet doesn’t seem to care.

55 Steering problem of the 2019 Chevrolet Blazer

Failure Date: 11/17/2021

I looked online and a lot of chevy products are having this issue. Something will pop up saying limited driving assistance then your cold hot gauge doesn’t work is get stuck your air conditioning quits working your oil gauge quit working your battery how much voltage you have quits working it falls your whole window up where you can’t see. This is an ongoing issue with most of GMC vehicles, especially Blazers. This is a safety issue that could cause your car to blow up or your windows. The fog over where you can’t see and you have a wreck and I could kill you.

1. The power steering (confirmed by dealership) is causing vehicle to pull very hard in one direction 2. Something fuel related does not allow my car to accelerate properly. Foot will be on the throttle and accelerating and without moving the throttle the vehicle will slow, rpms will drop then suddenly begins to accelerate again. 3. Car states it’s not in park after I shift into park.

58 Steering problem of the 2020 Chevrolet Blazer

Rearview camera and back up camera constantly not functioning and going black while and motion or backing up. Car acts like there is something in front of it (like a wall) on certain roads and does not want to accelerate to turn/pull out from a stopped position. I have had this vehicle for 2 months. I have had a car prior to this that did this before and stopped and left me stranded on a busy road and caused an accident. I can't believe this car is acting like this!.

59 Steering problem of the 2020 Chevrolet Blazer

62 Steering problem of the 2002 Chevrolet Blazer

Failure Date: 11/10/2015

"takata recall" vehicle acted like it wanted to only go right and I couldn't turn left and ended up hitting the guardrail on the right side of the road and almost totalled the vehicle. Didn't know about any recall so I went to junkyard to get whole front end, fenders, hood and pretty much every thing on front of vehicle except for motor. But did replace fan on motor. Cost in parts only was approx. $700. 00 (have receipts). Not including labor! & time and cost spent not having a vehicle until fixed. Also no airbags deployed!.

When turning onto my residential street I had severe vibration in steering. I parked SUV because it was dark. The next morning SUV was taken to chevy dealership. They stated that both high and low pressure lines had rusted in two, under clamp attached to left fender well that holds lines in place. Dealership blamed salt and road moisture for problem even though clamp is located in engine compartment near top of fender well. Repairs and replacement of lines were $925.

65 Steering problem of the 2002 Chevrolet Blazer

Failure Date: 12/28/2010

My daughter was driving at night and started to fish tale and spin out, she said that she had no control of the steering wheel and it lockup the driver side front tire. This caused the vehicle to do a 270 spin then go backwards hitting the curb, flipping the vehicle onto the driver side, causing it to roll. Because the shoulder was an embankment, the vehicle rolled onto the top then rolled back down onto it's wheels. The vehicle came to rest facing the wrong way on the highway. The cost of fixing the damage exceed value of the vehicle. Similar incident occur earlier just as a spin out (oct. 2010 ?), steering lockup after turning left at an intersection had some oil on the road from a previous accident (not related to us); however, she recover from the spin and just turn off the engine and restart the vehicle unlocking the steering wheel. It was assume that the spin and lockup was from the oil on the road.

68 Steering problem of the 2023 Chevrolet Blazer

Failure Date: 09/06/2005

Since I’ve got the vehicle I experienced issues with it not going in drive or reverse sporadically. I was air to obtain this in video and show it to the dealer for the first time Dec 2023. In addition and overtime it’s seems this issue may go hand and hand with the lane assist issue that had been known on chevy models where they either don’t work of they don’t recognize the lanes correctly and they pull although your in the correct lane. I have specifically taken the car in on 3 or more occasions about it disengaging and not driving forward or backwards. More recently it started to seem as if while u was actually driving the car did not want to accelerate forward and then while trying to accelerate the steering wheel pulled and caused the car to spin out of control on the freeway. The car was just in the shop from end of April till may and the issues are unable to be duplicated so I just keep getting pushed off with the car. The car radio constantly malfunctions and glitches I several different forms, black screen no sound or not allow bluetooth capabilities. My most main concern is this power train issue and me getting stuck with a car that is going to be it of warranty and the issue has never been resolved even though I have showed the dealership a live video of the occurring issue that there is something wrong here.

69 Steering problem of the 1997 Chevrolet Blazer

Failure Date: 08/27/2005

I purchased my 1997 chevy Blazer LS in February of 2005. Since the purchase I have had the alignment done twice. After the second alignment the mechanic stated they found the reason my Blazer was continuing to pull the right was because the gear box needed to be replaced because it was stuck to the right. This procedure is going to cost me 470. 00. The mechanic said this is a common problem with gm vehicles. The steering wheel turns to the right when I start the vehicle and pulls severely to the right making my driving effort more difficult and also causing unnecessary wear on my tires.
