Increasing speed by itself, let foot off gas pedal and gas pedal sticking, 1st time I tapped brakes and it quit. 2nd time it did not. I had to slam brakes and hokd until the point they had overheated and smell burnt and filed a separate complaint for that today. Gas pedal sticking and self accelerating. Pedal to the floor accelerating. I do not drive like that and scared the hell out of me. I bout it 5 days ago from a Chevrolet dealership. I'm tired of rip offs. Next one best be brand new and they reimburse me for outside mechanical I inspection period. Bc I trust no dealer now. Went from 7p to about 95 in 10 seconds for 10 min. Not sure what braking did bx I coukd care less about the phone whike I am trying not to hit cars in front of me literally almost jammed an 18 wheeler and moving truck with me pushing the brakes as gmhard as I could.

I bought a 2019 chevy Blazer in February 2023 . The vehicle has issues when I fill it with gas. As soon as I gas up to full it starts jerking immediately afterwards. It makes loud popping sounds. The engine dies completely. It starts to tremble and will not go. When I try to turn in back on , the starter works very hard before it will turn back on. It does turn back on eventually but I have to pull over to the side and accelerate the engine until it finally stays on. I drives that way turning off at lights and stops. After about 10-15 minutes of this , it finally stays on long enough to drive another 20 minutes or so to get home. After it rests for a few hours, it goes like normal. This is a big safety concern for me since these episodes happen every week when I fill up my car with gas. I have almost been hit from behind during these episodes and it is very scary and such a hassle to have to deal with this every week. I have already had several chevy dealers and mechanics work on this problem and it continues to act up like this. I have all the paperwork for the work that has been done. $15, 000 have already been spent on this problem and the problem still continues. Please help me. I like chevy vehicles and have always bought chevy but this is the second chevy vehicle that has given me problems when I gas up. Please look into this problem. My phone number [xxx] if you need to make contact with me by phone. Thank you [xxx] [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
Engine - code p0128 engine coolant thermostat. This is a safety issue because it reduces the power steering on vehicle, auto stop stopped working, unable to remote start vehicle. Issue has been confirmed at an independent service center (I work at an auto collision center). Warning lamp - check engine light. Message on dash - power steering reduced. Appears everything came on at the same time. Per dealership items most likely needing replacement are engine coolant thermostat and engine coolant temperature sensor but ecm module could also need replacement. Advised common problem but no recall power train - transmission shutters when accelerating. Safety is at risk because vehicle will not accelerate or accelerate too quickly. Called to dealership advise flush transmission fluid twice to fix issue. We have done this 4 times in the past year. Shutter temporarily reduces but does not go away. Per service advisor it is a "function design" and if flushing transmission fluid does not fix issue then transmission will need to be replaced. There are no warning lights or messages on dash electrical - vehicle says shift to park when vehicle is in park and will not allow vehicle to turn off. It is a safety issue because vehicle will not shut off. Problem confirmed by an independent service center we have already replaced the in-line wire harness jumper. This did not fix the issue. Advised from service center that entire shifter would need to be replaced.
I was driving down the highway at 70mph using the adaptive cruise control. There was nobody in front of me, and suddenly the vehicle started picking up speed. I looked at the cruise control and it said 115mph, so I hit the brakes to override it and slow down. When I reset it for , ~70mph again it worked fine. This happened to me two other times with the same basic scenario. The speed is always over 100mph, and it always occurs when the adaptive cruise control has been in use for at least 30 minutes. I have an appt with the dealer that I bought it from to have it looked at. No warning lights and no other symptoms.

The contact owns a 2023 Chevrolet Blazer. The contact stated that while driving approximately 50 mph, the vehicle experienced unintended acceleration and the speed increased to over 70 mph. The contact indicated that while depressing the brake pedal the vehicle failed to slow as needed and the parking brake was activated to eventually stop the vehicle. The vehicle was later towed to the local dealer who was unable to determine or confirm the unintended acceleration failure. The contact was informed that the brake rotors and brake pads needed to be replaced due to excessive wear. The contact stated that during a previous unintended acceleration failure, the speed was reduced while depressing the brake pedal; however, the vehicle would accelerate when the brake pedal was released. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The approximate failure mileage was 9,000.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? multiple components in the engine timing and transmission system have failed. These include: camshaft actuator solenoid valve failed twice (at ~30,000 and ~60,000 miles), each time with different dtc codes. Camshaft positioning sensor failed, triggering p0024 (“timing advanced and bouncing around”). Timing chain tensioner spring failed, requiring re-timing. Camshaft carrier case gasket experienced a major oil leak at 59,000 miles. Thermostat failed. Battery was replaced, but no diagnostic testing was performed—only code clearing. At 82,000 miles: torque converter has failed, transmission fluid is tarnished, and the radiator is leaking internally. Yes, the vehicle is available for inspection upon request and has been registered as non-operational. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? the vehicle exhibited repeated hesitation, delays when accelerating, and revving while braking. In stop-and-go traffic, it now sputters as if it may stall. These behaviors create unsafe driving conditions, especially at intersections and in congested areas, putting both myself and other drivers at risk. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? yes. The torque converter failure and transmission issues were confirmed by national transmission in long beach, CA. Prior component failures were confirmed by martin Chevrolet, who performed both camshaft actuator solenoid valve replacements under warranty. Multiple dtc codes were recorded and cleared, but no electrical testing was performed. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? the vehicle has been serviced by authorized gm dealerships, but gm did not escalate the issue to their tac (technical assistance center) or assign a field engineer, in violation of gm's internal escalation policy. No inspections.
The service advisor at the Chevrolet dealership denied a repair to my abs control module because it was a “known issue”. He told my wife and I our car is unsafe to drive and still wants to give it back to us. Other gm vehicles have recalls open for the same issue one needs to be open for this. Abs lights and multiple others no brakes or random braking.
When slowing down (at the end of a street for example) foot is on the brake but the car will jerk and engine revs as if it is trying to still accelerate forward without moving the gas pedal. The rpms increase. No warning lights, vehicle has been inspected. No issue found by dealership.
While driving, veh showed message , engine power being reduced, service parking brake. Then it died and would not restart. Parking brake was not engaged. Vehicle was in drive and moving apps 30 mph. I was driving straight. Now the check engine light stays on. Vehicle had reduced power and feels like I'm driving with brake engaged. When the vehicle dies the brake service light illuminated and then turned off after 10 minutes.
The contact owns a 1998 Chevrolet Blazer. While entering a parking lot at 20 mph, the accelerator pedal traveled all the way to the floorboard and the speed increased to 45 mph. The contact attempted to apply the brakes, but the vehicle did not stop. As a result, the vehicle crashed into the front of a building. The contact placed the vehicle in reverse and drove out of the building, but the accelerator pedal was still all the way to the floorboard. The vehicle eventually stalled. A police report was filed. The contact sustained four fractured ribs, which required medical attention. The vehicle was picked up by a tow truck (paid for by the manufacturer) and towed to the contact's residence. The contact was awaiting an investigator to render a diagnosis. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided case number: 884883. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was not notified. The approximate failure mileage was 185,000.

When applied the brakes there is some roughness under the vehicle brakes has been changed and some time getting jammed.
: the contact stated the vehicles throttle butterfly fractured off and locked the throttle open, which prevented the vehicle from slowing down. The vehicle was stopped in a parking lot and was not taken to a dealer.
This was the second complaint consumer filed on same issue on same vehicle. This was the second time vehicle had malfunctioned, and consumer did not have the odi number for the original failure. Consumer stopped at a red light with vehicle in drive engine rpms red lined and brake pedal went to the floor. Vehicle then started pulling away and going through red light. Consumer pulled vehicle into park and vehicle stopped moving, and engine red lined until it stopped on its own after about two seconds. Consumer tapped the gas pedal a few times with vehicle in park and vehicle went back to normal idle. When this happened consumer was not in the same place as the last time but vehicle acted exactly the same as last time.

1996 Chevrolet s-10 Blazer engine started revving while consumer was stopped with brake pedal depressed. The consumer stated the vehicle started to move forward into the intersection. When he placed the gear into park everything returned to normal. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. No mechanical or electrical failure could be found nor were any trouble codes stored in the computer.
1997 Chevrolet Blazer engine revved to a very high rpm. After the vehicle hit a pothole in the street the engine revved very high. It revved somewhere around 4500 rpm's. The consumer popped to hood to see if he could determine what caused the problem but couldn't find anything wrong. The next day the consumer inspected the vehicle and found that butterfly valve was open and showed where the wedge shaped piece was supposed to be riveted on. It appeared that the wedge piece broke away from the rivets and pivoted down into the throat of the injector body causing the computer to sense the need to floor the gas pedal.
While driving vehicle would accelerate without prior warning. The consumer has made contact with the dealership.

Loud rumble when accelerating from dead stop when first starting trip. Rumble only occurs around 1500 rpms.
On three different occasions my 2001 Chevrolet Blazer has nearly caused me to have a terrible accident. Twice while just driving along at a normal rate, the motor sped up to probably 70 or 80 mph creating a very dangerous situation. It was very lucky that there was nothing in front of me. This has been an ongoing defect with this vehicle. The service manager states that this a very dangerous defect in my car. I am afraid to drive it as each time they say it is repaired, it has happened once again. This is a very serious situation which could easily lead to a dreadful accident and loss of life. It is my opinion that general motors should offer me a new vehicle in place of the very dangerous one I now own. I could not, in good faith, consider selling it knowing how dangerous it is. Fortunately there has not been an accident with it, but I feel that it could easily happen. On all three occasions, my dealer, buzz chew, southampton, NY has been apprised of this defect and attempted to fix it, but it is only a temporary fix. It is also a know fact that other vehicles of the same make have had the same ongoing defect.

While accelerating on the highway the vehicle hesitated and shut down without prior warning. Please provide additional information dealer is aware of the problem. Ts.
Vehicle was turned on and lunged forward while in park. This was the first time happening.
The throttle, on my 1998 Blazer, sticks when first depressed and then engages, with the throttle partially open, so the vehicle lunges forward. A local repair shop told me cheverlot issued a letter telling all repair shops about this problem as it happens on all of these vehicles all the time when starting from a dead stop. I have contacted cheverlot several times and offered to fix the problem myself if they would tell me what to do but they refuse. They tell me to take it to a gm service center, which I did, and was told it will cost $65 and the repair will not be permanent. My concern is someone will be injured when one of these Blazers or s10 vehicles lurches forward in a parking lot. Please tell me what I should do.
Throttle gets dirty, every 15,000 miles it needs to be cleaned. If pressing the accelerator pedal slightly vehicle will not move. If pressed with a little more force vehicle will launch forward. Dealer knows of problem. But, not acting on it yet.
I was driving along and the engine raced out of control, with my foot on the brake I was doing 50 - 55 mph. If there was more traffic, there would have been a crash. Now the dealership(hoskins Chevrolet-elk grove village,IL) says the vehicle performs normally.
While driving the Blazer at 40 mph, the Blazer speeded up without pressing the gas pedal, driver tapped the brakes and Blazer went faster. Driver put both feet on the brakes, engine continued to go faster. Pulled emergency brake, engine continued to go even faster. Blazer slowed down and driver put Blazer into park. Dealer could not duplicate the problem.
Throttle control does not slow engine speed properly, dealer service can not repair.
While the a/c system is activated, rpms go up 1300 -1800 and vehicle accelerates. But braking system does slow it down. Dealer cannot determine the problem.
Throttle fails to close completly when accellerator pedal is released for a period of time up to 5 seconds. Inspected 5 times due to intermittent burning rubber smell. Dealer contacted and cannot remedy the problem, problem still exists.
Throttle body broke apart ,causing accelerator to open up and speed forward without touching gas pedal. Dealer contacted. Please add VIN.
Driving at 35 mph, vehicle started to pick up speed without foot on accelerator,2 wheel,4 wheel low and 4 wheel high light came on,also loss of steering ,could not turn wheel, causing safety hazard.
While driving vehicle will accelerate on its own up to 35mph without pressing the gas pedal. Consumer states this happens three to four times a day. To stop acceleration driver has to put the vehicle in nutural while moving and shut enigine down. Dealer has been contacted.
Vehicle lunged forward while stopping and shifting gear from drive to park. .

I would like to attach this to the previous comment that the front throttle body plates need constant cleaning as well. I would like to also enter a correction that my vehicle does have a abs brake system.
