The contact's sister owns a 2013 Chevrolet Camaro. The contact stated while driving 45 mph, the vehicle stalled and lost electrical power. The check engine warning light illuminated and the "engine reduce power" and “ignition switch failure" messages were displayed. The contact veered to the side of the road. The contact was able to restart the vehicle after several attempts however, the vehicle would not run smoothly while driving. The contact stated that the failure had been reoccurring while driving and while stopped at the traffic light. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic several times where it was diagnosed that the ignition switch needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired.
