I got my car back from the local dealership after they replaced my motor then 2 weeks later to the day my husband was backing in our driveway and the shifter went in reverse but the car wouldn't. So badically the vehicle rolls whild in park. The dealership said this couldn't possibly be them so it has to be a defective. My car only has 64,000 miles on it. They replaced the part, a transmission control lever, at my expense of $962. 59. This is overwhelming considering the expense of the new motor at 64,000 miles, which is absurd. Thank you for your time.

I am reporting an issue with my 2019 Chevrolet Camaro 2lt rs involving a faulty torque converter. The vehicle began showing symptoms consistent with transmission shuddering and performance issues. After diagnostic evaluation at a certified Chevrolet dealership, I was informed the torque converter needs to be replaced and the transmission fluid flushed. Upon researching, I found that this problem is covered under a technical service bulletin (TSB) issued by gm for this specific model and year, indicating it's a known issue. However, my vehicle is now out of warranty, and gm has not issued a recall despite the safety and drivability concerns. I believe this defect should be investigated further, as it poses a risk to vehicle performance and potentially driver safety.

Subject: inadequate anti-theft security – 2023 Chevrolet Camaro ss 1le to whom it may concern: I am filing this complaint regarding the lack of sufficient theft deterrent technology in the 2023 Chevrolet Camaro ss 1le, which directly contributed to my vehicle being stolen in July 2025. Despite being a high-performance vehicle valued at over $50,000, the Camaro lacks a modern immobilizer system, encrypted key access, or any active anti-theft protections to prevent increasingly common theft methods such as relay attacks, can injection, or signal spoofing. My vehicle was stolen in under one minute from a secure location, and the incident aligns with a growing national trend of gm vehicles being targeted due to these vulnerabilities. 2 years of $1,000 payments for it to be easily stolen is outrageous. I had full coverage insurance and was enrolled in onstar, yet the recovery process was ineffective, and onstar was unable to track the vehicle in time. Chevrolet and gm have not provided an adequate explanation for why newer models are being sold without basic theft-prevention technology that is now standard in vehicles from other manufacturers. Given the scale of this problem, I believe this represents a serious consumer safety and security issue, and gm should be required •upgrade security firmware or modules in vulnerable models •offer retrofitting of immobilizer technology or free anti-theft solutions •notify owners of the known risk and potential theft vulnerability I am requesting that NHTSA investigate the scope of this issue and determine whether gm’s failure to implement industry-standard theft prevention constitutes a violation of consumer safety expectations. Thank you for your time and attention. Sincerely, [xxx] murrieta, CA [xxx] phone: [xxx] vehicle info: •year/make/model: 2023 Chevrolet Camaro ss 1le •VIN: [xxx] •date of theft: [xxx] •location: murrieta, CA information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. The blender door that controls the air flow will close all the way and causes fog build up on the front windshield constantly whether it's cold or hot outside. It also randomly changes from hot to cold during driving. This is a concern due to drivability with the windshield fogging up or the comfortability of driving in extreme conditions ie. . . Hot, cold, or rainy conditions keeping the temperature in the car to see. Thank you for your time.

* initial transmission failure: -in February 2025 my vehicle began experiencing severe and rough shifting, which was quickly followed by a "check engine" light. I immediately took the vehicle to dealer for inspection. * dealer diagnosis and repair: -the dealership diagnosed the issue as a worn-out transmission solenoid and valve body. They informed me that they had to install a newly redesigned valve body and replace the solenoid. The repair was completed at my expense, and I paid approximately [$3000]. The dealership had my car for over six weeks, during which I was not provided a courtesy vehicle. As a result, I incurred thousands of dollars in rental car fees. * denied reimbursement claim: -the recall notice included information about reimbursement for out-of-pocket expenses. I was told by the dealership's service advisor that I would receive a reimbursement form, which I did. I meticulously filled out the form and submitted it with all the required documentation, including my repair invoice and proof of payment. The dealership rejected my claim, stating that my specific repair was not covered by the recall and that the recall was only for a software update. This is demonstrably false, as the recall notice itself links the software issue to premature component wear, exactly what I experienced. * ongoing safety concerns: -to make matters worse, I am now experiencing new transmission issues, including slipping, just months after the "repair. " I am terrified to take the vehicle back to the dealership, knowing I may have to pay thousands more for rental cars and another repair that may not even solve the problem. I am concerned for my safety and the safety of others on the road, as a failing transmission can pose a serious hazard. I am requesting that the NHTSA investigate this matter. It appears that gm and its dealerships are misleading consumers and failing to honor their responsibility to reimburse owners for expenses directly caused by a known defect.

The rear window became unglued on the bottom passenger side causing the window to peel back. With this peeling back it makes it difficult to see, because this causes the window to continuously fog up.

While driving the temperature gauge will drop down to 0 degrees and the radiator fan will run until battery is disconnected.
I was driving my vehicle to school, and all the sudden I get a message saying "engine power reduced!" as soon as that happened, my vehicle's speed decreased rapidly. Making it hard to keep up at the same speed as traffic, I plugged my scan tool. And engine codes: p2138 and p2127 appeared on the reading. My check engine light is still on, and I noticed I see a flashing red color where my brake and gas pedal are located. I suspect its my accelerator pedal position sensor that malfunctioned or, my throttle body position sensor. But still I feel very unsafe driving the vehicle, the engine power is running extremely poorly. I would like to get a free repair and inspection of from a chevy dealer, I will continue driving the vehicle until the problem is fixed!.

The car warning system states place car in park when car is in park. Cannot turn override this system. Have to wiggle the gear shift until it recognizes it is in park. This seems to be an issue with some gm products.
Blend door is broken and when doing research, I found this issue is common with 2010-2015 Chevrolet Camaros. My car only had 57,000 miles on it when this occured.
The convertible top on this car is up and secure but the information system says it's not secure. In this situation the trunk will not open and the top not secure warning with a alarm bell goes off. Gm is aware of the issue and has done nothing. The most often reported is a bad switch for the top latch. The switch is no longer available through gm. So how can I get it fixed?.
The infotainment system's screen will go black and lock the radio on the last channel and volume setting and cannot be changed. When it goes black it also disables the onstar safety system. If I were in an accident when this happens I would be unable to call for help. This happens almost every time I drive the car.

1. Transmission control unit issue/shift to park gear issue depleting battery/other.
Apparently it is a known issue with repair shops. The 5th bow of the convertible top is a faulty part that when bent causes leaks within the vehicle. These leaks bcome massive and could cause mold within the rear floor panel. I've replace the part in 2018 and now 2024. However, the repair shop is now telling me the part is nolonger manufactured and can be located in the country.

The key is getting stuck in the ignition and is known as a recall but it’s saying not for this car. It’s expensive I don’t trust anyone with my car and this is stopping me from doing normal things for the day and night activities.
Driving in extreme cold and heat conditions and the heater would not heat nor would the air conditioner blow cool air. The window would not defrost making visibility impossible during heavy rain and snow. Nearly recked due to heater and air not working. Had vehicle trouble to dealer and discovered blend door to air conditioner /heater is faulty. There was a recall in 2019 for this part on 2015 Camaro yet I am told by gm my VIN is not covered. My car is not safe to drive in extreme heat due to the possibility of heat stroke or exhaustion nor in inclimate weather due to visibility issues. Gm needs to add my VIN to the 2019 recall due to the highly dangerous possibility of bodily injury from the faulty blend door. In addition, the key fab gets in the way of leg room causing the car to shut off when driving.
The trunk will not open. It will not open even using the keyfob, using the actual key, nor pressing the button on the driver side door. There is a constant message saying that the trunk is not secured and the car is constantly alarming because of the trunk. Unable to open the convertible top. Message says to open top manually. There is no way to manually open the top.
The stereo system in this car controls alot of the electrical system. For a while it would come on and off now just off. It will not alert you if you forget to fasten seat belt, or if you forget keys in ignition . Defrost has warm air on one side cold on other no matter what settings are on . This causes windshield to fog up horribly and limits vision. It does not make sound when blinkers are on are left on after turning. So you can be driving forward and not know blinker is on giving other drivers the impression you are turning. I've seen videos where drivers are removing stereo and cutting white wire which says stereo comes back on when wire is cut. But it also disables hazzard lights. Now your in the dark changing a flat and you have no hazzard lights , but your stereo works very dangerous. This has got to be some sort of wiring issue which also make me fear a potential fire hazzard.
My car has 23,507 miles on it. It has not been driven hard. I took it in for rear differential service. I was informed that both rear shocks were leaking. It was recommended to replace the shocks for $1479 because the shocks have an adaptive feature for different drive modes: touring, sport, track and traction for snow and ice.

The back glass on my convertible few into traffic as the bonding agent failed and is a common problem with my vehicle.
The blender door is junk. It falls apart, so no air conditioning or worse, no heat. I got stuck in a traffic jam in freezing temps and despite blankets, I may lose a piece of my ear lobe. Flash forward, not a single local repair shop will fix this. They say it's a recall issue. . . Or one that should be. Sadly, the dealerships want $4k - $6k to fix it. Something that just is not in my budget with this economy. Chevrolet might want to fix this before someone loses more than an ear lobe. I will be suing if my doctor has to remove a portion of my ear. They were concerned over a stupid sticker on a visor, but not people freezing to death or dying of heat stroke. Do better Chevrolet. Do beter NHTSA - I filed a complaint about my Ford going into limp mode on a highway without warning over ten years ago and the only response from anyone was crickets.
The a/c blows warm air because the air box used to control the a/c was made with a flimsy part. The part is cheap to replace, but the repair is over $4,000 because of the vehicle’s design. The a/c is controlled by an air box under the dash board but the box cannot be worked on without first removing the dash board and the dash cannot be worked on without removing the windshield. I was told that there was nothing I could have done to create or prevent the problem, it’s just not a sturdy material used. And there is nothing that can be done to prevent this from reoccurring, which would be another $4,000+. In fresno’s over 110 degree summer heat, driving around without an a/c is a health concern. Also, the vehicle won’t release the key from the ignition when it is turned off. I have to wait up to a minute for the car to release it.
Ldrivi at 40 mph on a 45 mph street a car suddenly braked ahead of me I bumped my ignition key fob unintentionally when I went to react quick and went to brake and suddenly the car went off I went to swerve as quickly as I could to not rear end the person upfront but the wheel locked and it was so hard to turn that I even hurt my shouldn’t from trying to avoid the car in front but t ended with me crashing the vehicle rear right corner/sideswiped my car and front driver side airbag failed to deployed. 1 month ago three way Chevrolets denied me service for discriminationsl reasons and denied me the repair of u ignition key recall which was never fixed I never got a new programmed key they denied me the rep pair without me paying them 800$ and I couldn’t afford 800 so they denied me service and only gave me a blank uncut key or even programmed they admired to saying they couldn’t repair my recall so they didn’t follow proper protocols and reported. To you as repaired when service documents. Provided by them state they did not in fact repair my recall and denied me the service of the repair which unethical and put my life in danger and others I could have died or cause have liked someone for three ways Chevrolets unethical negligence and making failed reports for unrepairwd recalls.
Car only has today 46,500 miles and passenger airbag sensor stopped working last year, started intermittenly working after 30,000 miles and now completely not working, repeated problem for all chevy Camaros having this problem with few miles on cars and barely any passengers sitting in seat to activate use.

While accelerating my Camaro begins to shake violently kind of like a shuttering. It happens on cruise control also. The violent shaking makes it hard to keep control of the vehicle. I looked online and found thousands of owners with the same problems. The weirdest thing is that my check engine light comes on for a few days then goes off for months. This absolutely needs to be recalled! I’m going in for my second opinion tomorrow but the last mechanic said I can replace the torque converter or that I might have a misfire in my engine. People need to be compensated for these expensive repairs, especially sense the car is so expensive. Gm had to know these parts were faulty. In no way shape or form, is there this many complaints about a vehicles parts and as a company they knew nothing about it. These mishaps are extremely dangerous and could be life threatening.
The rear window is separating from the roof. It seems to be a common problem with certain Camaros and other type gm convertibles. The original roof was replaced on this vehicle for same problem. The replaced rear window, roof is now separating from the roof again. (in less than 2 years since the original roof was replaced) gm/Chevrolet's only fix is to replace the entire roof. It appears to be a manufacturing defect with the glue/adhesive in the manufacturing process. Chevy will not honor or stand behind their product and want me to pay for the entire roof replacement. It is a known issue among convertible Camaro owners. Chevy even issued a technical service bulletin on this issue in November of 2019. Bulletin # 17-na-216. It seems gm will only fix this issue if the vehicle within the 3 year 36,000 mile warranty. I believe this is a safety issue because the rear window could shatter while driving or become loose and fly off and hit other vehicle while at highway speed.
Car will say “shift to park” warning message even with car in the selected gear of “park”. Happens at least 5 times a week, and I have to turn my car on, back up or pull forward put the car in park, try to turn it off and I will be met with the error message. I have to try this numerous times before it finally realizes the car is in park. I fear if the car comes out of park it will roll down a hill and hurt someone. There is an open recall on chevy malibus for the same exact reason, hopefully the same can be done for the Camaro and other gm products being affected.
Every once in awhile, the ignition key will not turn off to the steering lock position. Leaving the key in accessory position. This defect makes the key impossible to remove. The defect in the 2015 Camaro has been documented in many automotive & Camaro forums, but gm denies that there is a problem. Gm had a similar problem in 2. 2 million cars; models with a key-sticking issue, an says, include the 2005-2010 cobalt, 2006-2011 chevy hhr, 2006-2010 pontiac solstice, 2007-2010 pontiac g5, 2005-2006 pontiac g4/pursuit, 2007-2010 Saturn sky and 2003-2007 Saturn ion.
Appears the vehicle alerts to “shift to park” when the vehicle is in park. Cannot lock the vehicle. Beeps constantly to put in park even though the car is actually in park.
