1 Other Fuel System problem of the 2015 Chevrolet Camaro

Failure Date: 03/22/2026

The car powered off on me while driving on the interstate causing an extremely dangerous situation for me and other drivers without any warning, no signs the vehicle abruptly stopped I coasted to the side and avoided traffic and started right up but drove rough. It’s fuel and fluids in the car and no check engine lights were on.

Failure Date: 10/21/2025

While driving with cruise control on doing 70mph (+\- 5mph) the car was in fuel management mode so only 4 of the 8 cylinders were in use. When going on an uphill incline the car cycled to v8. Instantly, I had a loss of power for a second and then the entire engine locked up in the middle of moderate traffic. Providing maintenance log to show that it wasn’t a lack of maintenance.

However, after getting it back the car looses power and will not accelerate. It is currently in the shop as I type this complaint.

7 Other Fuel System problem of the 2021 Chevrolet Camaro

Failure Date: 02/11/2025

* initial transmission failure: -in February 2025 my vehicle began experiencing severe and rough shifting, which was quickly followed by a "check engine" light. I immediately took the vehicle to dealer for inspection. * dealer diagnosis and repair: -the dealership diagnosed the issue as a worn-out transmission solenoid and valve body. They informed me that they had to install a newly redesigned valve body and replace the solenoid. The repair was completed at my expense, and I paid approximately [$3000]. The dealership had my car for over six weeks, during which I was not provided a courtesy vehicle. As a result, I incurred thousands of dollars in rental car fees. * denied reimbursement claim: -the recall notice included information about reimbursement for out-of-pocket expenses. I was told by the dealership's service advisor that I would receive a reimbursement form, which I did. I meticulously filled out the form and submitted it with all the required documentation, including my repair invoice and proof of payment. The dealership rejected my claim, stating that my specific repair was not covered by the recall and that the recall was only for a software update. This is demonstrably false, as the recall notice itself links the software issue to premature component wear, exactly what I experienced. * ongoing safety concerns: -to make matters worse, I am now experiencing new transmission issues, including slipping, just months after the "repair. " I am terrified to take the vehicle back to the dealership, knowing I may have to pay thousands more for rental cars and another repair that may not even solve the problem. I am concerned for my safety and the safety of others on the road, as a failing transmission can pose a serious hazard. I am requesting that the NHTSA investigate this matter. It appears that gm and its dealerships are misleading consumers and failing to honor their responsibility to reimburse owners for expenses directly caused by a known defect.

11 Other Fuel System problem of the 2011 Chevrolet Camaro

Failure Date: 01/03/2024

February 16, 2024 dear sir/madam, I am writing to bring to your urgent attention a potentially life-threatening issue regarding the 2011 ss Chevrolet Camaro. It has come to my attention, through personal experience and extensive research, that a hazardous situation exists due to a leaking gas tank in this vehicle model. Despite the gravity of this issue, the car's diagnostic system fails to detect any loss of fuel pressure or sense any fuel vapors, leaving unsuspecting drivers at serious risk. General motors, particularly its Chevrolet division, has not issued any notice regarding defective fuel systems in the aforementioned vehicle model. This negligence is alarming, as the repercussions of such a flaw can be catastrophic, endangering human lives and personal property. Given the severity of this matter and the potential for serious injuries or fatalities, immediate action is imperative. It is my belief that this issue could affect model years ranging from 2009 to 2015, amplifying the urgency for intervention. One possible cause of this perilous defect could be attributed to the poor quality or substandard material of the fuel pump o-ring. Such a flaw constitutes a recipe for disaster and demands swift resolution. Furthermore, it is apparent that general motors may be aware of this issue but has chosen not to address it, likely due to concerns about negative product branding and the associated costs of rectifying the problem. However, prioritizing profit over public safety is unacceptable and morally reprehensible. In light of the foregoing, I implore both the national highway traffic safety administration and general motors to take immediate and decisive action to rectify this hazardous situation. Lives are at stake, and the responsibility to ensure the safety of consumers falls squarely on the shoulders of both the manufacturer and the regulatory bo.

12 Other Fuel System problem of the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro

Failure Date: 07/13/2023

Hello I’ve purchased this car from ajs auto inc and since purchasing it I’ve been complaining to them about my transmission and rear end I am now going on my 3rd transmission in this vehicle and I pay way to much money monthly for this to be going on and chevy knows about the issue but refuses to do anything about and or the dealership.

13 Other Fuel System problem of the 2023 Chevrolet Camaro

Failure Date: 07/10/2023

Rattling noise at engine idling condition, coming from passenger side in engine compartment. Once vehicle reaches an idle condition around 650 rpm, the noise is present and will go away once engine rpms increase. Likely related to bulletin #pip5395b (or subsequent update). Could also be confused with a small exhaust leak or an interference condition between some part of the engine and chassis.

14 Other Fuel System problem of the 2023 Chevrolet Camaro

Failure Date: 06/07/2023

Car (with 6 miles/brand new) was taken to dealer for a rattle in the engine bay. They have explained the fuel line is rattling against the fire wall. They tried to fix it and the problem was not resolved. They are saying they have to contact gm to open a case. This should be cause to update the TSB: pip5395e for the same issue.

15 Other Fuel System problem of the 2019 Chevrolet Camaro

Failure Date: 04/17/2023

High pressure fuel pump cracked and leaking after 37k miles.

16 Other Fuel System problem of the 2018 Chevrolet Camaro

Failure Date: 03/23/2023

Manufacturer default in the trunk. Water is getting into the trunk causing water to fill up in the battery compartment. Thus, shutting the vehicle electrical system down completely. After researching, I contacted gm who stated that they are unaware of this issue, although many people who own this type of vehicle have had this issue occur.

17 Other Fuel System problem of the 2018 Chevrolet Camaro

Failure Date: 03/05/2023

Part number 12703596 that feeds the fuel line has an l bracket that holds the line in place. This bracket is secured to the cylinderbhead on the driverside of the vehicle. The bracket separated from the fuel line at the weld creating a hole. This caused a fuel leak. This fuel leak sprayed fuel down the backside of the engine towards the exhaust. Luckily I did not cause a fire.

18 Other Fuel System problem of the 2017 Chevrolet Camaro

Failure Date: 02/04/2023

This car originally was towed four times because of the failure of the fuel pump wiring harness to the pcm unit the fix was they put a fusible link between the fuel pump I believe and the pcu it still has problems it's intermittent it has issues of burning and melting the case or the plug-in is burnt in there we've addressed it with upper management of Chevrolet and they wanted us to take it to a different dealership and it was just a fiasco after that they said they fixed it they didn't fix it gave it back to us. I'm the father of the driver of the car I worry about my grandchildren and my son having a fire in that car I keep having problems we have to go get them and jump start them and figure the mess with the wires in the trunk so tired of this thing please help there has been consecutively people on the internet telling how to fix which general motors should be responsible for this fix is pathetic how much I've read about it.

19 Other Fuel System problem of the 2018 Chevrolet Camaro

Failure Date: 01/13/2023

Exhaust-piece that holds exhaust together has come loose twice now. Dealership confirmed the cause was due to a poor manufacture weld. The dealership has replaced the exhaust once, and this time the manufacturer is only agreeing to pay a portion of the cost. It was replaced less than two years ago and the car is driven less than 12,000 mi a year. Safety issue- because the piece that holds the exhaust together is welded on poorly (please see picture) and easily falls off. This is also a serious health hazard because when there are cracks in the exhaust fumes are inhaled. I would appreciate it if NHTSA would investigate this issue, as my next step is to file a lemon law claim.

20 Other Fuel System problem of the 2020 Chevrolet Camaro

Failure Date: 04/20/2022

Unknown issue but when gas peddle is pushed and speed is above 65mph the vehicles dashboard lights go out and the car starts to sound as if it is going to shut down and power to the vehicle is declined dramatically.

21 Other Fuel System problem of the 2017 Chevrolet Camaro

Cylinder 6 fuel injector failed at 23,800 miles and this part is not covered under power train warranty. It's a $900 repair!.

22 Other Fuel System problem of the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro

Failure Date: 04/02/2021

When the car is in motion, it turns on the check engine light and turns off, it tries to turn on and stays on for a while had a turn on. The check engine is not cleared. It is as if there is no gasoline in it. They indicated to me it is a problem with the gasoline tail of the gasoline bomb. There is a recall but it is not reported. Vehiculo have only 31,600 miles.

23 Other Fuel System problem of the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro

Failure Date: 01/11/2021

Evaporative emisions vent valve selenoid malfunctions. Parts has manufacturing deffect and fails regularly. It’s location makes it very complex and expensive to repair. This malfunction disables the remote start which is, in my case, a safety issue. The cost to fix is prohibitive an users postpone it or disregard it. This well known issue among owner of this model, dealers and mechanics. It does trigger a “check engine light.

24 Other Fuel System problem of the 2015 Chevrolet Camaro

Failure Date: 05/19/2020

I was driving my car, speed about 45 then it slowed down to about 20 and then a sign came on saying engine power reduced. I was going 5 minutes up the road to a gas station.

25 Other Fuel System problem of the 2015 Chevrolet Camaro

Failure Date: 01/01/2020

The flip key fob gets stuck every time I park and will not come out for average 15-20 & sometimes it will come out if I move the gear shift to all gears and then put back in park. It doesn't always work though. This was a recall, owners were given a new flat key which I was not, and I do not believe the dealership (classic elite Chevrolet) corrected the recall. This has been an ongoing issue since 2020, after buying the car September of 2018. I was also given 2 key flip key fobs, which one was broken because the previous owner's knee hit the fob and the key broke off. It is obvious this ignition switch issue causing the key to remain stuck in the ignition was never fixed. I have asked for proof that it was fixed and I was told they couldn't provide proof or provide me with the flat keys that were to be provided after the recall. Check engine light comes on randomly, then will go off a day or two days later. I connect my sensor and it says 3 items: 1-high purge flow 2-cylinder 1 misfire detected 3-gm failure recorded. Yet, my car passed all the testing for inspection. I do not believe the dealership corrected any of the recalls that were issued for the 2015 chevy Camaro when I purchased it. I have spent thousands of dollars taking my car into the certified service center to be told, it's basically all in my head, and I know it's not. 100%. I need answers. I need proof. I need to know why the recalls that were "supposedly" completed, have resulted in the same problems still occurring years after the recalls were issued. Below it states to tell the approximate date this incident occurred. I will put the date it started. Please know, that all the issues are still occurring.

26 Other Fuel System problem of the 2015 Chevrolet Camaro

Failure Date: 01/01/2020

My radio has been turning off and on . Then after 2 months of doing that my radio completely shut off. When ever I put my signals I'm not able to hear them. Which I believe it's a risk because I'm not aware if I have them on or not. I have heard that I'm not the only one with this problem. The dealership won't take responsibility for this.

27 Other Fuel System problem of the 2015 Chevrolet Camaro

Failure Date: 09/10/2018

Takata inflators: known recall. Need to be replaced before anything happen. Heater is not working at all. Blowing out cold air.

Car will not heat in the winter, started this winter. I only had the car 2 years.

29 Other Fuel System problem of the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro

Failure Date: 04/06/2018

The timing chain stretched and is failing. Dealer admits this is a known issue and that other model cars with same engine have been recalled for replacements. Although it's a know issue dealer is charging $2000 for the replacement of the timing chain with the one Chevrolet switch to in the next model year Camaro as they were aware of the issue.

30 Other Fuel System problem of the 2011 Chevrolet Camaro

Failure Date: 11/27/2017

The contact owns a 2011 Chevrolet Camaro. The contact started the ignition and the check engine warning indicator illuminated. In addition, the vehicle stalled, but was able to restart on the first attempt. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer (jim causley Buick GMC truck, 38111 s gratiot Ave, clinton, mi 48036) where it was diagnosed that the charcoal canister needed to be replaced. The canister was infested with spiders and spider webs that blocked the flow of fuel fumes, which caused the vehicle to stall. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer stated that there was no recall and were familiar with the failure. No additional assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 26,000.

31 Other Fuel System problem of the 2017 Chevrolet Camaro

Failure Date: 11/08/2017

2017 Camaro zl1 manual this is specific for this car model. There is an issue with throttle response when moving out of a stop. Engine stalls and rpm comes back afterward very high. This is dangerous on cross road stops and stop lights. Had few events the car would almost stall and be in a dangerous place in the road with upcoming traffic. This problem can cause a collision. It requires new ignition timing programming of the ecu. Chevrolet is aware of the issue for a long time and has not issued any fixes yet.

32 Other Fuel System problem of the 2012 Chevrolet Camaro

Failure Date: 08/08/2017

The vehicle has a surge in throttle while in gear at a complete stop. This forced the vehicle against the power of the breaks into a fence and a wooden parking stop causing significant damage. This has happened several times while the vehicle was stationary overpowering a normal pressure on the breaks while in gear. This has happened a total of at least 10 times. Last occurring the last day I drove the vehicle. I placed the vehicle in storage afterwards.

33 Other Fuel System problem of the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro

Failure Date: 12/01/2016

New vehicle emissions fuel system. Emission error code for solenoid developed when vehicle was very new. Dealer has had the vehicle 4 x's and are unable to repair the error code. Many explanations however vehicle will not be able to pass state emissions inspection in the future. Vehicle will not be able to be registered in the state or any other state. Dealer is indifferent about this problem??.

34 Other Fuel System problem of the 2013 Chevrolet Camaro

Failure Date: 04/16/2016

This has been an ongoing issue since 41,000 miles. (Feb 2015) after driving a few miles in a day, you can feel a change in the vehicle drive and the rpms reduce to under "2" and then down to "1", the car then displays the "!" "reduced engine power" warning. 3 emergency lights come on and the check engine light comes on. When safe, I pull over and turn the emergency lights on, turn the car off, wait a few minutes and then restart the car. For a few seconds the "stabiltrak" warning light comes on. The car then drives sluggish and will not go over a 40 to 60 miles speed. This continues to go on every 3 to 5 miles. We have been taking the car to dealer and they have replaced a connector, wiring harness and a ecm module. After a few miles of driving the same situation occurs. This last time when I safely pulled over to a side street and turned on the emergency flashers in the early morning hours a car almost rear-ended my vehicle. The reduced speed while driving on the freeway is causing a frightening driving experience because other drivers do not realize that my car is experiencing engine reduced speeds that I have no control of and I cannot exit the freeway until an exit ramp is available. I do not feel safe pulling off to the side of the freeway due to the re-entering onto the freeway with disrespectful drivers who cause life threatening issues. Researching the issue on line it seems there are too many with the same issues. I did read that the onstar system may be causing the conflict??? this issue has become very time consuming and expensive with the missing of work. How do we get this corrected. It started at 41,000 miles and we now have 91,000 miles. We do have a premium extended warranty to 125,000 miles. The warranty company said that general motors should / must correct this issue and it is a known issue.

35 Other Fuel System problem of the 2012 Chevrolet Camaro

Failure Date: 05/07/2015

2012 Camaro has had power down problems while just merging on interstate started at 40,000 miles. Air bag module claimed by dealership if the problem and will cost to fix along with throttle control body. Car had been diagnosed by another dealer but nothing was told could be the taka airbag recall but not sure with price of 1500 for repairs this also includes break changing I'm sure is not the major cost. I've been trying to get this airbag issue addressed. The power down and a dash info pop up first came at 36000 mile. All issues have been on highway 90 also interstate 10 on ramp and general driving.
