Twice under warranty windshield wipers failed to come on and the dealer (different from where I bought the car) replaced the wiper motor. The repair lasted approx. 1 year before the next failure. Now that the warranty is over all of a sudden it's the switch and will cost me $275. 00. The same symptoms each time- wipers would not operate until put on full or by pushing the mist control first.

The windshield wipers when turned off stay in an upright position instead of going down. Had to replace the motor which was burnt out and also the wiper circuit. I understand that there have been numerous problems with various year, make ,and models of chevy's windshield wipers.

While traveling on the freeway with windshield wipers on the second highest setting, the passenger-side windshield wiper arm broke in half. The wiper assembly slid up the windshield, flew over the top of my car, and landed in the middle of the freeway. Fortunately, the only driver behind me was several hundred yards away.
Windshield wiper blades replaced.
