Chevrolet Camaro owners have reported 54 problems related to wiper (under the visibility category). The most recently reported issues are listed below. Also please check out the statistics and reliability analysis of Chevrolet Camaro based on all problems reported for the Camaro.
The autodimming rear view mirror has begun to darken in normal light and makes it difficult to see out of the mirror at traffic and objects behind the car, making for a potential safety hazard. The mirror looks like the pixels for the autodimming feature have cracked and leaked out, blocking visibility.

When driving all gages stop working all lighting inside and outside when driving. Happens sporadically. Took to Chevrolet and they said needed a battery so I changed and still happened. Took to performance shop and left for almost a month where a diagnosis was made that it was a corroded rear bumper wiring harness. I also found this problem on a forum with other cameros. He cleaned and it did not act up for a couple of weeks then on my way to work early one morning this week (dark outside) running approx 60 mph all of my lights went out again. My car still runs just no lights. Called Chevrolet to report safety issue with no resolution.

The back window is separating from the top the back window is falling out exactly as described in this other tsa and when this is brought to chevy attention the say it's not covered even though the car only has 32k miles on it and an extended cpo warranty. I have taken the car to classic Chevrolet in grapevine for them to tell me it's not covered. Https://static. Nhtsa. Gov/odi/tsbs/2019/mc-10154647-9999. Pdf.

I have a 2018 Camaro convertible. There is a known issue with the convertible tops on these cars. The rear glass separates from the top because of a manufacturing defect. I was told this is not a recall but other Camaro owners reported that gm replaced the top for them at no cost if you make a formal complaint/request. I reached out to gm directly and they told me to visit this webites instead. I am attaching photos.
Gm has a service bulletin about issue. It involves all 2016 to current Camaro convertible models. Back window that is sealed to the top just suddenly pops out. Rolling down window at highway speed while top up just pops out back window. The service bulletin states that and insufficient amount of primer is used during the assembly process. This allows the material to separate from glass. Window just pops out. Purchased car new November of 2018 with 50 miles on it. Car is garage kept and has less then 17000 miles. I am on my 3rd top. Gm will not cover the serious and potentially dangerous problem. Top right of passenger side window failed. Driving with top up and window open will further seperate glass from top and blow out. Car is not safe to drive with top up.

Hello, my name is sharris bridges, I’m the owner of a 2013 Chevrolet Camaro. I currently can’t defrost my car and can’t see the road because I have no heat. The Chevrolet Camaro has a issue with the blend door (temperature control door). It’s a piece of plastic that breaks which causes you not to have any heat. I was told by the dealership I would’ve to get the dash and windshield taken out just to get the blend door fixed. The bill they showed me was $2036 (majority in labor) for a issue that plenty people are having with the Camaro. This should be a recall! I’ve no heat, I can’t defrost my car, and more. Https://m. I’ve two pictures that I didn’t upload to the complaint about the Chevrolet Camaro blend door issue that I just submitted.
My radio turns on and off-very distracting to my driving and makes a loud popping sound from speakers-which is startling. Along with this my defrost turns on and off which sometimes limits my visibility. This happens while the car is parked and while driving intermittently. It happens about 20 times while driving a short distance of about 10 miles. It also happened while I was driving on the interstate.
On cold morning start, the climate control, radio, radio lights, blinker ticking audio, driver information display, steering wheel hands free phone control (speedometer, tps readings, trip info, etc. . ) does not power on. Driver cannot defrost the window. Then. . . After car is driven 10-15 miles they power on. (car warms up some) internet search reveals many others with similar problem. Some say clip a white wire behind radio, real fix is replace bcm. And dealer only program, the vehicle specific bcm (body control module) it may sound easy to just say. . . Dont drive the car, but if you have no other means. . . . Who is going to do that? I am a ase certified tech, though expired 2002. Not wrenching anymore but I know a little bit. . Read more...

On the 2010-2014 Camaro there is a major problem with the hvac blend/valve door. The electric actuator connects to the defective blend/valve door it appears to be made of abs or some type of plastic. The main concern is that in cold or rainy weather the front defrost will not work allowing windshield to fog up obstructing the view where there is no visibility while driving. This is a serious and dangerous problem to the motorist. This not a normal wear part. Chevrolet has not offered any type of warranty to repair the defective product but will charge $2700. 00- $3500 to replace a $14. 00 part. This caught me of guard a couple of times in rainy weather I had to use passenger side door window and mirror to pull off the highway.

Tl- the contact owns a 2012 Chevrolet Camaro. The contact stated that the blend door in the heater-a/c unit does not operate as needed. This failure caused the vehicle to not emit hot air, which also affected the defroster. The vehicle had yet to be serviced or taken to a dealer for this issue and the manufacturer had not been notified of the failure. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure mileage was 70,000.
On 2010 model ss/rs with high intensity discharge headlamps (regular production option code t4f; I believe the code is), the visibility of the headlamps is severely diminished after the first couple of years due to heat from the required zenon bulb. Heat from the bulb, causes the plastic reflective dish at the rear of the light assembly to warp and crack the mirror reflective finish causing diminished throw (distance) from the headlights. With the severely diminished visibility from the headlights, a driver (me) cannot see much further than 30 feet or so in front of the car at night. If rain is present at night, a driver (me) cannot see the road at all except for the center line street markings and sometimes the road shoulder or curb just near the front end of the car. This makes it impossible to drive the vehicle at night and especially in raining conditions. I have changed the bulbs twice using the same manufacturer bulbs before identifying this defect in manufacturing with no change in result. This a huge safety issue for all 2010 and up models with high intensity discharge headlamps with severely diminished visibility putting drivers at harms risk and other drivers around vehicles with the same defect. Making it difficult if not impossible to see lines in the road adequately, pedestrians, construction markers and roadway shoulders and curbs and could lead to accidents that could've been prevented. There has been no TSB or response from Chevrolet that I could find regarding remedy to this issue and it needs to be researched and looked at. It has taken me this long to figure out what the problem is after researching with other owners having the same issue. With the difficulty to diagnose that the headlight assembly is the problem, other unsuspecting owners continue to drive their cars each day with this severe safety issue. Issue is inside the light assembly.

On numerous occasions I have been blinded by the sun because of the uselessness of the small sunvisor. This has occurred both with front visibility or trying to shield eyes from the side window. My passengers have also been effected the same way. The visors are not deep or long enough respectively to be of any value. This concern is more severe when express way driving or in heavy traffic, which I have recently encountered and prompted this reporting.
Whenever the a/c is running the defrosters stay open and badly fog the windshield on the inside. . . Gm is aware and has fixes that do not work. I have attempted to have the dealer and gm correct it (it appears to be extremely widespread as a problem). . . Gm responded that the car functions as it was designed. I find it dangerous.
Defrost not working due to heater not putting out correct temp from faulty blend door failing high cost in labor not repaired due to need of dash removal after 11 old recent repair. Window stays foggy causing blinding on highway movement. Along with review mirror constantly dropping after repeat tightening. Part in dash is poor design of cheap plastic part with a huge labor price. Need recall on part market is flooded with this failure all year models. Need help 4000 in 11 months is not acceptable for 49$ part.
~tl the contact owns a 2013 Chevrolet Camaro. The contact stated that the windshield was foggy inside the vehicle. When the contact turned the defrost system on to be able to clear the windshield wiper inside the defrost system caused the lights that are located in the defrost are to darken and turn signal lights sound become mute. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer to have a diagnostic performed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manfuacturer was contacted. The failure mileage was 46,000. Li.
In humid conditions the car windshield will fog up (condensation). This is caused by air leaking from the front defroster vent. Covering the vent resolves the issue. Gm issued TSB;#17-na-201: excessive windshield condensation, hvac defrost door flutter type noise heard - (Jun 16, 2017). Had the repair performed in 2017. The issue is not resolved and appears worse now. This appears to be a common issue w/ this generation of Camaro. I feel this is a safety concern as it impedes immediate visibility.
When using the windshield defroster, instead of clearing the condensation, it creates a very thick area of condensation on the inside of the windshield, regardless of temperature setting or fan speed. I have to carry a micro fiber cloth to clear this condensation repeatedly, even while driving.
Same issue as other's have reported. Windshield fogs up right above dash vent even when that vent is not selected and a/c is running. Happens often.
Front windshield keeps fogging up to the point when driving it becomes a safety hazard. Took in to get it fixed by dealer according to the fix chevy provided and the fix made it worse, I can't drive with air on or windows will fog up and interfere with visibility. It is a very serious safety hazard when driving.
Windshield fogs up when driving to the point that visibility is so obscured you can't drive. When you turn defog on, the outside glass fogs up and you must use wipers but the fogging reoccurs so quickly that it still obstructs view.
The windshield fogs up and drips with air on the feet. No way to clear the increasing fog unless you turn the air-conditioning off and increase the heat there for on the 90+ hot and muggy day you are left with heat exhaustion or pulling over on the side of the roadways which is never safe. When it rains good luck deciding if you want to turn the window defoggers on and cause condensation or open the windows in the rain to get wet which makes the windows steam up completely or last resort is to turn the heat up on the defrosters and heat up the whole car. . Or again, pull over to the side of the road indefinitely or do not drive your car in 80% of the south's weather conditions. Really sad that gm and the Chevrolet dealerships fix to this issue is to say "welcome to the south" and laugh. This happens when its muggy out, raining, cool and wet, early morning or late evening. It only gets worse with the wipers, only gets better with higher heat for extended periods of time. So in essence most of that or those days.
Windshield fogs up and blocks visibility tremendously (on a vehicle with low visible already, it is very dangerous). This is caused by cold air leaking from the windshield defroster vent, and happens regardless of defroster setting. It becomes a problem on hot and humid days and when it rains, rendering the ac useless if you want to see out of the windshield. Further, turning the ac off does not decrease the fogging, nor does driving the car or sitting stationary. The only ways to keep it at bay are to run hot air (horribly uncomfortable on hot/humid days) or to constantly run the wipers on a high speed. Aside from those, running cold air conditioning (windshield defroster off) causes a dangerous amount of fogging in the aforementioned conditions.
Windsheild fogging up while driving with the ac on.
Windshield still fogs after dealer performed the TSB,it now fogs with the a/c off and the vent on blocking visibility during the rain and early morning in florida.
Constant window fogging when the ac is on.
Vehicle was purchased new. Within the first 3 months windshield has always fogged up. Issue seemed minor at first but is annoying and is a safety hazard. When running the ac, I always have to turn on wipers to clear-and condensation is always right above defrost vent.
Mainly at night the windshield has lots of condensation on the outside . There is a service bulletin but it doesn't help, actually it made mine worse. You can feel the air coming from the defroster on the inside of the car. We have to ride with the wipers on. I had a case with gm but it was closed because the engineers said that there is nothing to be done. We bought the car in February it has some condensation but has only gotten worse.
My pressure tire lights come on even when my tires are inflated . . They marked that the tire where low at 22 and I pumped air untill they where 40 without knowing because the tire lights indicated they where low. . When I'm coming to a stop the wheel shakes.
The front and back windows get a film on them. We were told it was because of the leather seats. When the car has been sitting when you start the car there is a shift flare from 1st to 2nd speed. It does it one time after it's been sitting for an hour or so.
6 months ago my infotainment screen started flashing and the cd would occasionally pop out of the player on its own. The music would turn itself off then come back on, startling me as it would be accompanied by a loud static or popping sound. It started off intermittently, then the screen went completely black and the music stopped working completely except for the constant buzzing/static sound accompanied by clicking as though something is trying to turn on. The screen and the music occasionally make a surprising appearance, usually after I've come to a stop, rolled my window down or used the turn signal. Which brings me to the next thing, the air conditioning system. To this day it comes on and off at its leisure, including the front and rear window defrost. My blinkers no longer make the sound to alert me that they are on. On a few occasions my drivers side window has failed to operate. I assume one day that will be also be inoperative based on previous trends. I cancelled my subscription to onstar since I have no access to the features any longer. This means I no longer have navigation, access to emergency services, hands free calling or even roadside assistance. I no longer have the ability to remote access my vehicle which was one of the main selling points. Now please imagine taking an uncomfortably silent ride with me and then all of the sudden a cd that wasn't playing pops out and the air conditioner keeps going on and off, all while the car sounds like its about to explode. I've researched online and found countless sites with numerous owners stating that they are experiencing the same problems. Add another 5000 or so characters to this complaint box and I will gladly copy and paste those owners' stories for you to consider as well. Chevrolet/gm say that this is my issue alone. I believe this should have been a recall years before I purchased my vehicle.
Ac blows on front window causing constant condensation on windshield. I have turned the ac on and off, adjusted the temperature high/low and my windshield always gets fogged up. The higher the humidity the worse it is.
