The doors latches and the doors openers will not funtion properly. For example: the driver door latch will not catch, therefore you have to take and manually push the latch back until it clicks and you also have to take an pull the door handle from the inside of the car at the same time as pushing the latch back to close the door. All four doors on the car are like that. Second, the driver door handle has already been replaced once due to failure to operate opening the door as if it is stuck or something. The color of the car is red and the first time the driver door handle was replaced, it was replaced with a plastic silver handle. The handle has since than broke again and has not been replaced due to failure to operate correctly the first time it was replaced. This car and disfuntional parts has become a nusince.
The floor shifter on my 2007 colbalt will not lock out to prevent car from moving will ignition switch is off. The pin inside shifter works it's way out of shifter and prevents lock out mechanism from engaging. In order to start car ,the ignition switch has to manually engaged by sticking finger underneath steering column and pushing the button to release ignition to start car. This is another defect that gm needs to address in recall notice with ignition switch problem. I have two small keys on ignition key ring. . . Very light. This problem is more widespread than reported and the manufacturer needs to correct this flaw.
