2 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt

Failure Date: 01/06/2015

I purchase the car from schofield in 2008 it has had two recalls one on the gas tankand another on the steering column now it is acting up everyday I think it is due to the cold weather and it has to be a manufacturing issue the warning lights began to flash on come on the gauges go up and down like crazy the gas hand goes up and then below empty the car loses power the power steering light comes on the brake light comes on it begins to make a clicking noise and it jerks as it drives I am so afraid to drive my car because of these defects, I took the car into scofield a couple of weeks ago they said they could not find anything wrong but it is obvious there are things that are wrong when I tried to turn a corner its like the power steering goes out I have the papers from schofield I need someone to help me please I don't want to be another victim of this car.

3 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt

Failure Date: 02/17/2014

The doors latches and the doors openers will not funtion properly. For example: the driver door latch will not catch, therefore you have to take and manually push the latch back until it clicks and you also have to take an pull the door handle from the inside of the car at the same time as pushing the latch back to close the door. All four doors on the car are like that. Second, the driver door handle has already been replaced once due to failure to operate opening the door as if it is stuck or something. The color of the car is red and the first time the driver door handle was replaced, it was replaced with a plastic silver handle. The handle has since than broke again and has not been replaced due to failure to operate correctly the first time it was replaced. This car and disfuntional parts has become a nusince.

4 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt

Failure Date: 06/15/2012

It will not let me type in the affected part. It was the ignition. The car was sitting still and the ignition would not shut off. The key cpuld be removed and replaced and could be turned, but it would not shut down. . I had to call aaa to have them come to remove the battery cable, (I had to go online to find out where the battery was located) (because even my aaa did not know where it was. We then had aaa tow the vehicle to the dealership in laurel, MD and they said that the ignition had fallen apart. They put another ignition in, howeve, I wonder if it is out of the same batch that is causeing problems now. They also did something to the electric power steering at the same time.

6 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt

Failure Date: 10/11/2011

While driving down highway the traction control light came on. When I slowed to exit highway my vehicle began to shift funny and hard and became scarry. I then left stop sign and my car was shifting hard and felt like it was jumping eraticly. I was scared to drive at times and it continued for about an hour then I pulled into get something to eat and call my husband. After eating and telling my husband, I got back into car and it was fine. No more lights on the dash saying service engine soon or traction control light. It was fine for the rest of my way home. I went to work next day and all was back again, light for service engine came on and so did traction control. Then my car started jerking again and shifting real hard. Now my car does this at least 4 times a week. I had it looked at and they could not find anything they said. It happened again and I took it in and they said it was a front right wheel bearing showing up on code but nothing else. Had the bearing fixed and it still does it. I should have known that wasn't all it was cause it feels like the trans slipping and grabbing. To this day it still does it with everyone telling me they can't find problem.

7 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt

Failure Date: 12/03/2010

Suspension sounds like we are bottoming the car out all the time. It can happen anytime we meet a crook in the road. Sounds like the car is going to break in half. We feel this problem could end up resulting in a catastrophic disaster. Took it in and the dealership said that the battery bracket (which is located in the trunk, who would've thought) was loose and the fuel protector bracket was loose (on the front of the car). The dealership tightened the brackets and said all was fixed. We drove out of the parking lot and we still heard the problem. We have called the service department back and they said, "it's gotta be something else!" we have also been putting in complaints on the comfort of this vehicle. If you plan on traveling for more than 10 miles at a time, do not purchase a 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt lt2. Our daughter in which is only 25 yrs old couldn't even ride in this car for 20 minutes without getting a backache. These cars are horrible in the winter snow and ice. They are of no comparison to the original Chevrolet cavalier. They really should look into going back to those little cars, for they are great little cars all the way around. I have a 2002, and am so happy I still have it. I am trying to trade the Cobalt back in and gmac is telling us that we will have a high percentage rate because we haven't had the car for a year. Well we don't want this little ice skate, it is so unsafe. Who would want to keep an unsafe vehicle? I think they should really start investigated the suspension issues since upon our research, we've found this has been going on since 2006, and nobody can figure out how to fix it. Maybe that's why this is the last year for the chevy Cobalt. They should all be taken off the market on recalls and people should be compensated for their heart ache and unsatisfactory outcomes. Someone needs to research this and get it taken care of. This is America!.
