1 Recreational Vehicle Lpg Tank Valve/gauge problem of the 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt

Failure Date: 07/05/2019

Once car warms up, while driving, the automatic transmission does not shift past second (2nd) gear, and will allow red lining without shifting up a gear. When trying to park, the shifter will not allow shifting into park, and the vehicle will pull away under the power of its own idle if the parking brake is not applied, making leaving the vehicle unattended very dangerous. When trying to shift out of park shifter will become stuck in the parking gear. The light illuminating and indicating the gear in which the shifter is in position of goes out, making it very difficult to know if the vehicle is actually in park or reverse especially coupled with the shifter not going fully into the parking gear. When the shifter doesn't quite move into the parking gear it causes the doors to stay locked and sometimes makes the manual locks difficult to use in order to exit the vehicle, it makes the electronic locks completely unusable. Also, why in the world would chevy not put a engine temperature gauge in the dash cluster? how are drivers supposed to know if the engine is overheating, wait until the engine blows up with the driver trapped inside???.

2 Recreational Vehicle Lpg Tank Valve/gauge problem of the 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt

Failure Date: 09/02/2018

It starting having flashing dashboard lights once as I was driving it just a few blocks from my home the first time it happened all gauges go everywhere up down or stop it looks like a christmas tree! and before the gear shift had some clicking at times. The clicking started then the gauges started going all over and the speed was all over then dropped to 0 not to move again. It's been happening on and off for about 8 years but as time goes on it's getting really bad I've kept looking for recalls as did my mother as she had the car before my owning it. It now does this anytime and the steering stops working with no notice or if it's not working and trying to pull over as it did on an on-ramp it kicked on and made the car jump into side lane about half way into that lane. Had it been a two lane road and a car coming towards me it would have been a dead head head on collision as it takes time and a lot of power to move the car when the steering is like a 1950 tractor in a wet field! I have back issues and don't have the upper arm strength that it really needs. There in no real warning when it's going to happen. But sometimes I hear a click and it happens a few seconds later. Also the interior lights every one through inside of the car stopped working about 3 months when my parents bought the car used back in June 08 they have never worked since. It had like 23,000 miles on it roughly. They was in middle 60s back then. It's now a family car and it's scary to have to drive it but I've got money in it I can't afford a replacement now. I have video of what it does. I just have videos no pictures.

3 Recreational Vehicle Lpg Tank Valve/gauge problem of the 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt

Failure Date: 10/07/2015

Bought in Nov 2015 from carmax. Immediately had to flush all fluids, replace breaks, and rotors. The car shuts off. Gauges go haywire, all warning lights come on and then the power steering cuts out. The car then shuts down. This series of events happens whenever it wants to. When I've just put gas in it, on the interstate, in an intersection, in the rain, or in 85 degree weather for example. So far GMC has replaced the fuel pump or something to do with the fuel pump (I'm no mechanic, so I don't know exactly what it was) but I was told it was fixed. Obviously it's not. This problem has now happened while the vehicle is in park. I even have video graphic proof. Honestly, I'm terrified of the car and I just want rid of it with my money back. What happens when this car kills me and or other people while I'm driving it? I've set up an apt with carmax to have it looked at, but if they can't recreate the problem what then? I've got an appraiser coming out from chevy on this Friday, October 9th. I just need someone to help me.

4 Recreational Vehicle Lpg Tank Valve/gauge problem of the 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt

Failure Date: 02/26/2015

Cobalt will randomly display car lock symbol and check engine light on the dash. The gauges on the dash (speedometer, gas, etc. ) begin to flash back and forth, and error messages come up saying "no fuel", "power steering" and rotate between the two. While the car is doing this, it becomes hard to accelerate and the car surges randomly. It's happened frequently, and we have taken the car in to several different mechanics, all who cannot figure out what is causing the issue. We have replaced the main computer, and still are having the same issues. It is not safe to drive as I cannot see how fast I am going when the gauges start to go crazy, and the car will begin to think it's out of gas, even on a full tank. We have had so many issues with Chevrolet cars over the past few years that we no longer wish to purchase from them.

5 Recreational Vehicle Lpg Tank Valve/gauge problem of the 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt

Failure Date: 03/07/2014

I was on my way to work this morning on and noticed my car 'stuttering' as few moments at a time. After I proceeded from a stop position and continued off the highway, the car dashboard began to light up, almost as if it was shortening out. The speedometer, fuel gauge, and my rpm kept moving back and forth quickly. There were multiple messages flashing such as powersteering, low traction, no traction. My check engine light, antitheft light, and the traction light kept flashing. Then I lost power steering and my car ultimately 'died' on the side of the road.

6 Recreational Vehicle Lpg Tank Valve/gauge problem of the 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt

Failure Date: 01/19/2013

I bought the car 2 years ago. I noticed that the car stalls mostly when the temp outside is around the single digits. Doesnt happen all the time, and sometimes when the temp isnt that low. Unfortunately I still have to work and I was driving to work one morning, the car stalled on and icy road and I ended up in a snow bank. The car of course started right back up like nothing was wrong and ran for a couple weeks with out a problem. I have a constant problem with the car stalling, I even had a new engine put in because I was told it would fix the problem when I couldnt start my car at all one day and had to have it towed to a shop. Not even a week after the new engine, the car began stalling again, showing up with power steering warning lights and my mph gauge went haywire. Ironically, sometime around this whole problem, the recall for the ignition switch came out.

7 Recreational Vehicle Lpg Tank Valve/gauge problem of the 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt

Failure Date: 08/05/2011

I bought my Cobalt in March of 2007. For the last year the radio will only play on the back speakers. The stero it self will play but some time nothing on sreen to show station or time. That not a magior as the problem the has happened now three time. When we go to stop at a light and push in on the cluck the car will die and the gauges on the dash will shoot over to the right and then to the left side fast. The car will restart. In the last month the front in will shimmy and shake when sppling the breaks. Dose it real bad when you slowing down when over 55 mile per hour. I have seen many complains on the front end. Wll it take a person to be killed for the chevy company to have the vehicles called in and looked at. I bought the car because of the price, mile per gallon of gas. And over all look.
