After filling my car up on 7/28/2020 my car started having issues with starting without hesitation. I took it to the shop to have my oil changed and quickly realized I was losing gas. I ended up losing my tank of gas and had to return to the shop to have my entire fuel line replaced. I noticed that I was leaking something while backing out of my driveway and could see the trail of gas on the pavement. When I took my car back to the shop it was severely leaking gas near the rear left wheel well.

Started smelling a strong odor of gas inside and out of my car to where I would smell of gas when I drove my car, looked on line for any problems concerning this issue and saw that their had been a recall on the fuel pump in 2012 I believe it was, anyway I did not receive a notice for called gm explained what was going on they made arrangements to have my car towed to a dealership to be repaired which it was well, a day in a half later my check engine light comes on which it hasn't in the past I try to call gm numerous times and leave messages no one returns my calls. I take it back to dealer they put it on machine come out say your tank is filling up with a vapor your going to have to leave it we have to remove the tank. I get a call couple days later they replaced my recalled ignition switch but my gas tank has a crack. I go up there with my sister and after lengthy discussion I was told that the crack was a defect on the manufacturer end,it's up to me to get it fixed so, I point blank asked shouldn't they be recalled if it's a defect and I was told yes they should but they won't because they have to much going on right now with everything else. My opinion I just think it's just sad that someone has to get hurt before anyone will take responsibility for their mistake.
The cabin of the vehicle had the smell of fuel fumes, especially when filling up the vehicle. Saw on tv that the colbat had a fuel system recall and assumed that was the problem. The problem was the fuel tank was cracked at the fill neck. I had to pay to replace the fuel tank ($690), gm paid for the part being recalled.
