The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed the fuel lines were rusted and leaking and needed to be replaced. The contact was also informed of a transmission fluid leak. The fuel lines and transmission fluid lines were also replaced. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 115,381.

2 Transmission Fluid Leaking problem of the 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt

Failure Date: 12/11/2010

The contact owns a 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt. The contact was stopped at a traffic light when she engaged the accelerator and the vehicle hesitated to accelerate. Later, while attempting to park in reverse, the vehicle would not move backward. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where they advised the contact that the transmission would need replacing. The dealer stated that the trans cooler line that connected to the radiator was not properly connected causing the transmission fluid to leak from a previous repair done at an unauthorized repair facility.
