Service power steering, drive with care and service stability track lights turn on due to a defective steering gearbox according to the dealer shop. It makes the wheel to bind and gets hard to turn. It has happened during driving (in motion) in the middle of the streets, also at stops or relights when fully stopped, and also while in "parking" (stationary) and while turning. It has not happened on a highway. Every time I turned the car off and let it sit for some minutes and turned the car back on then the lights would reset by themselves and I would be able to drive normally again, but then it randomly will happen again and again. First time I took it the dealer they said the angle sensor needed calibration and that the problem was fixed with that, but then few days later I experienced the same problem and on the second time I took it to the dealer, they found out it was the steering gearbox (part # 84670808). I noticed this problem already has a recall. Recall is for 2015 Colorado manufactured January 6, 2015 to March 17, 2015. My vehicle falls into this category but hasn't been recalled. This is a safety concern, it can cause accidents due not lack of control of vehicle.

Stabilitytrack light came on & lost power steering while the vehicle was in motion on the highway. Immediately, turned on the hazard lights and attempted to steer the vehicle to the shoulder. Steering a vehicle at a highway speed without power steering was a very difficult task. Restarted the vehicle a couple of times, then it was back to normal. The dealership found error codes u0415 and u0420 among other errors in the history of the vehicle. The dealership only re-charged the battery and reset the computer (I believe). However, the exact same issue occurred again on 10/18/2020 in the exact same scenario. Except, when the vehicle was brought back to the same dealership. The dealership was unable to detect any error message in the vehicle history, which is quite frightening. Expecting to bring this vehicle to a different dealership for a second opinion.

While driving in the city and highway the power steering service light and the stability track light turned on couldn't steer very difficult no power to power steering.
While driving to work on 7/23/20 at 45mh I lost power steering and stability control, warning light came on and (lost of power steering and stability malfunction) came on the dash. Had to pull to the side of the road and turned the truck off, waited 10min then triad to start it and it reset itself. Then on 7/25/20 it happened again only this time I was on the freeway doing 65mh with my wife and almost caused an accident going around an overpass. Because it's the only vehicle I have to go to work I decided to take it 7/28/20 and on the way home it did it again only this time it caused the wheels to skip, scared the sh%t out of me. I read there was a recall so I called the dealer but they say my truck dose not fall under the recall. This is a huge safety concern and after doing some research on the internet I'm not alone. This needs to be fixed and I shouldn't have to pay for this.
Power steering turns off while driving or even when stationary. Stability track light also comes on. Resets when turning motor off and on again. Intermittent problem since may 2019 - bought as used vehicle.
Vehicle was being driven down a flat residential street when power steering and stability track warning lights came on. The power steering then failed making it very difficult to drive. I drove less than a 1/4 of a mile to my residence and turned the truck off. Turned the truck back on after I inspected the under carriage. The errors reappeared. I the. Turn the truck off and on again there was no longer any warnings displayed, and all functions were normal.
I just left work, my truck was parked for 8, hrs. After 3, minutes of driving the service stability track light came on. After a couple mins. I turned down a major highway and then the following warning lights came check engine, low fuel ( it was half full), traction control, drive with caution, strearing assist off. The electrical panel went crazy and I lost power to the engine. I pulled over and called chevy roadside assist. They towed the truck to cox Chevrolet, where I purchased the vehicle brand new only a year ago. They could not duplicate the issue and I had to drive it back home. This is clearly a malfunction. I do not feel safe driving the it.

At first, truck showed tps alarm ,then stability alarm ,next it had the headlights cut out on the highway at night @ 70 mph for 15-30 seconds. It has shown these problems separately and simultaneously at different times. Finally it manifested a new symptom I would intermittently not crank the engine over even though the battery was at full charge. After repeated trips to the dealer(they said they could not reproduce the problem) with no effect or improvement, a call to Chevrolet netted a case number #71-1257538002. As a result of this call( I feel) work was restarted on the vehicle. As of today 12/26/13 the Chevrolet dealer has now changed the ignition switch. We shall see. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

The "service stability system" warning light comes on and stays on until the vehicle is shut down. It does that repeatedly. The Chevrolet dealer, jim cook Chevrolet in marion, nc, says they cannot duplicate the light or detect a code and that there is nothing wrong with the vehicle and the light is meaningless and I should disregard it. The user manual states that if this light comes on the vehicle should be immediately parked and taken to the dealer for repairs. This has happened repeatedly for the year I have had the truck. It has been in the shop numerous times. On one occasion, may of 2014, the shop tech at jim cook did see the light come on and he changed the "yaw senor". It did not fix the problem. Now the dealer service manager denies that anyone ever saw the light come on at their shop. Also, the jim cook manager says that all records they have of serving this truck were sent to gm on orders of the regional gm office and they no longer have any records of serving the truck. The light still comes on and I am afraid to drive the vehicle. Chevrolet customer service opened then closed a case on the issue and now tells me I am simply a dissatisfied owner and they will not longer service the truck or deal with me. I even asked the dealer if they would take the truck back in trade for another vehicle, as I really need a reliable truck. They told me that they would not take the truck in trade or in any other manner and I needed to take the matter up with Chevrolet.
