Warnings Problems of Chevrolet Colorado

All electronic braking lights came on in truck @13040 miles dropped at dealership last Monday they believe it’s the master cylinder. Pending additional info.

The transmission jumps into 1st gear when spot at a traffic light or when parking. Back seat gap and forward collision warning not functioning.

I have had this truck for about 3 weeks and the first day I brought it home the parking brake was engaged upon starting the truck along with the collision light. It finally came off and drove the truck. Took it to the dealer they checked it and said it was fine per their assessment. Couple days later it happened again took back to dealer as the collision and parking brake light and brakes were stuck again, they again ran their computer diagnostic system no issues. Drove it for about 3 days and now it occurred again today, collision light and parking brake engaged. After about 15 minutes of trying to disengage the parking brake I shut the truck off, then one last time I started it back up and the brake disengaged. I then drove it back to the dealer today.

As I was pulling into my driveway, my 2024 chevy Colorado erroneously sensed a pedestrian and suddenly applied the brakes. I was traveling about 7 mph. There was no person or object in my path.

Within in the two weeks of owning my truck the forward collision warning has alerted and forcefully slammed my breaks to a complete stop. One going 75 mph on the highway and once during normal in town driving. I have deactivated the system ever since. I did make my dealership aware but they just said they aren't aware of any issues. The driver side blind spot monitor constantly gives ghost alerts when it is dark.

These features no longer work in the vehicle. There may be others that I have not noticed yet. Chevrolet requires you to purchase a onstar subscription at the price of 25. 99 a month for these safety features to work. It also requires onstar for the talk button on steering wheel to work along with talk to text. No longer shows the current posted speed limit on road on dash. No longer shows map on dash cluster. These are what I have noticed so far.

Sunday (05/26/2024) I was driving around 15km aprox. From my home and message of forward collision warning appears in the screen says that it is not working, in a period of 30 min, the message appeared as 6 times, after that message disappeared. Today, Wednesday 05/29/2024 7:10 am, my car died, not turn on, nothing works, it is as if battery was removed. My Colorado has 13000 kilometers. Monday, I drive it normally (no issues no messages), since Monday 6 pm and all Tuesday my Colorado was parked in my house. This is the second time that it happens, the first time occurred on 04/22/2024 my car died (11800 kilometers), I used normally on 04/20/2024, previous days I receipt the same warning message. Dealer could not find the issue. They updated software related with the recall related with the module of adas. Dealer will review again.

About 30 minutes after driving at low/ moderate speeds, the emergency automatic braking system and five other braking systems failed while the vehicle was in motion. Parking brake was used but nothing worked until the car was in neutral and came to a natural stop. Almost caused an accident.

While driving my dash and infotainment system shut off and rebooted. This left me without any vehicle information like speed nor any safety assist devices.

3 different issues 1. Automatic emergency braking: was driving and truck slammed brakes twice at 55 mph to 15mph there was no cars or people anywhere around truck when it happened. The jolt was so bad my neck and my wrist hurt for 3 to 4 days, if there was it would have caused an accident. Took truck in twice once to for recall and 2nd for the brakes slamming. Chevy said they couldnt make it happen again so they cant fix it. I explained it didnt happen for over 11,000 miles so how I just have to wait until it happens again. The light and sound still goes off randomly but brakes haven't slammed yet. Very dangerous this really puts mine and others at risk. 2. Windows don't always go down part has been on order may still waiting Aug 11, 2024 3. Recently truck won't start battery dead. Going to take in tomorrow. I reached out to gm due to chevy dealer said they are the only ones that can fix issue. That didn't work either. I still have a brand new deg effective truck. Don't know what else to do. Lawyer says to take it in 2 more times then they can start a case. All I want is it fixed specially when I bought it new.

Bought my son 16 year old a new truck, truck only has 517 miles on it. He was driving 45 miles/hour on street, dashboard warning lights all lit up abs, brake and check engine. Brakes failed. Was able to pull into a parking lot eventually but a very serious safety issue/concern and this truck should be recalled immediately.

The forward collision avoidance system which controls the automatic emergency braking is showing as unavailable. This is after the parking brake warning light comes on and the brake master cylinder or bcm or both makes clicking noises after driving.

On several occasions the brakes were applied in a forceful manner for no apparent reason including one time when I was making a right turn and almost got rear ended by the vehicle behind me when I came to a forced stop.

Forward collision engagement at 35mph when nothing was in front of vehicle.

Driving down a 35 mph road. No traffic ahead of me or behind me . Vehicle suddenly slammed on the brakes as if it detected something in front of me. Was unable to give the vehicle gas until it was done braking to nearly 0 mph. Luckily no vehicles behind me or it could have caused an accident.

Within 24 hours or purchasing this brand new truck (5 miles on it) sensor issues began and slowly escalated from a service door latch system error to auto braking engagement for absolutely no reason at 35-40 mph and side mirror warning sensors turning and staying on causing all windows not to move. There have been other issues as well however those are the most alarming as they directly effect the safety of the driver and passengers and the inappropriate auto braking engagement could cause injury or death to the trucks occupants as well as drivers around them. This problem is discussed widely on chevy Colorado forums as many owners are experiencing with the 2023! the truck has been in the dealership with attempts to repair 4 times, the third attempt took a month and within 2 hours of pickup it started again. 4th attempt, 20 mins after pickup auto collision system was going off as usual. Now I have errors on the dash to service the driver assist system and the side warning mirror lights no longer work. Someone is going to get killed. There are forum conversations where people are driving on the highway going 80 and the brakes engaged for no reason. Gm is well aware of all of the issues with my vehicle as I have been in communication as well as the dealership. The dealership told me another person bought a similar truck and had / has the same problem. Gm refuses to purchase this truck back even though they know this is unsafe and want me to continue to try to have it fixed. I have a ton of documents to support this but when I click to upload nothing happens to allow files to be attached. I'm more than happy to share them, they include repair orders, conversation with the dealer and gm, screen shots of errors etc. One document includes a text message from the dealer stating there is a bunch (I know it to be 2 pages) of history of lost communication code errors that would have occurred at the manufacturer yet they released it for sale anyway.

While driving at any speed I lose steering assistance through electronic steering. Which makes steering very difficult. A warning comes on the dash, warning of dangerous conditions.

Forward collision goes off on its own for no reason, my ac went out at 4000 miles and cemetery froze over, my rear third brake light leaked at 5 months old and ruint my headliner and they wouldn't fix it without me paying, and now I am experiencing the shudder from my transmission that appears to be a common issue with all the trucks chevy put out. I also feel as if they will find a way to not cover this as I am out of warranty.
