My 2005 Chevrolet Corvette is having the same issues listed in campaign 10v172000 on 04/26/2010. Yet when I enter my VIN number it says no recalls. The "service active handling system" message appears with loss of the feature and loss of brakes lights. The brakes lights come on spontaneously while driving and turn off when the brakes are actually applied. Obviously a dangerous situation. 02.
Low beams don't work but when you hold it back bright s only work when held back but when let loose they go off and still no low beams.
Low beam turn off driving at night.
When I drive my car at night my low beams stop working after 25min of driving it. Everything else is working fine so I have to drive with my high beams and I've been pull over for driving like that. After I park and the car sits for few hours the low beams start to work again.
Around 1-13-15, spoke with "jessica" about recall I received on my 2005 Corvette, which stated the parts were available and I should contact the dealer to schedule an appointment. Jessica said they did not have the parts, but would call when they were available. Today is February 23, 2015, and I still have heard nothing from watson Chevrolet regarding the recall on my 2005 Chevrolet Corvette. How long should one be expected to wait for a recall repair?.
Low beam head lights are not working properly. Telescopic steering column is also recalled.
The contact owns a 2005 Chevrolet Corvette. The contact received a notification for recall NHTSA campaign number: 14v251000 (electrical system, exterior lighting). However, the part needed to do the repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced the failure.
Driving on highway at 60 mph and the low beam head lights went off without me turing them off. Car dash displayed " head lights suggested". They did not come back on.
I am driving at night all of a sudden my lights go out and will not come back on. . . . . Come to find out the fuse box gets to hot and the wires inside are affected causing it to fail the dealer says its not under warranty and I think this should be a recall. This almost caused me to crash into someone. If I did get hurt because of this I would file a law suit.
While driving my 2005 Corvette my head lights will go out. Sometimes when I start my car they will not even come on. I cannot drive my car at night time.
The low-beam lights keep cutting-off when the engine temperature reaches normal temperature. After shutting down the vehicle, the engine cools-off and then the lights will come back on, only to again cut-off when the engine is turned back on again. . .
The low beam headlamps won't turn on after car is warm - and low beam headlamps turn off while driving at night.
After starting the vehicle an letting it run for a few mins the lights just went out for no reason do not know why or how.
I was driving my 2005 Corvette home at night and my low beam lights suddenly stopped working. There was nothing I could do, but use my bright lights, which was an obvious hazard to oncoming traffic. This is not the first time this has happened. The next day I started the car. . . My low-beams came on and seemed to work. I then drove my car and after only a few minutes the lights went off again. This intermittent problem has been consistently occurring. Due to the nature of the problem, I cannot believe there has not been a recall to date. This is an obvious safety issue that seems to be happening with many other 2005 Corvette owners.
Low beam lights just quit working. Fuse/relay is good and is a intermittent problem. Seems to be a heat related issue very unsafe at night.
While driving on the fwy my lights went off checked the following evening and they worked. While driving again they suddenly went off again.
While driving home from dinner, my low beam lights turned off with no warning. After pulling over and trying to remedy the problem to no avail. I ended up driving home with my high beams on. This problem happens more frequently and has put me and others at risk. Could please look into this problem.
Low beam lights went out wile I was driving and would not come back on in my 2005 Corvette although the dash indicator said that the lights were on. I was very lucky I just avoided an accident . I was able to pull off the hwy and into a safe area . I could not get the low beams to come on ,I could only get the high beams to work . I looked on line only to find out many other Corvette owners had the same problem . This could have been much worse this problem is very dangerous and will lead to a terrible accident. The Chevrolet dealer was no help saying they did not know how to fix the problem . I went on line and found over 100 other Corvette owners with the same problems.
While driving for about 30mins. I noticed the low beam shut off with out a notice or anything. I tried turning them back on but nothing worked. The next day I tested them out and they worked but they only stayed on for about 25mins. Than they shut back off.
While driving during the evening around 9 pm entering a sharp curve my lights went out and causing the car to dip off the road. The circumstances could have been worse had it be in the opposite direction with oncoming traffic. After researching this issue I can't understand why this isn't a recall. A car's lights turning off in the night how much more dangerous does this need to be? not only is the driver of the vehicle at risk but other motorist as well. Considering the amount of time this has been reported this will certainly have a media storm attached to it if unfortunately it results in an accident.
Low beam lights failure after 15 minutes driving at night. Took a bump and the went on again and then off. Lights worked after vehicle was cold. High beam and all other lights work with no problems. It happens every day. I stopped using car at nights.
Driving at night, low beams suddenly shut off (both sides). Pulled over and tried toggling the light switch through variaous settings. Driving lights would turn on and off, but low beams would not. High beams worked, so drove home with hihg beams. Next night, low beams worked again but turned off after 10 minutes. Appears after car warms up, low beams switch off. Now can only drive at night using high beams or driving lights after low beams switch off.
Low beam lights stop working while driving, leaving only the parking lights on unless you have the high beams on. Low beams will come back on briefly after turning the engine off & locking the car. Then pushing the unlock button on the fob will cause the low beams to work but only until the timer expires no matter if the switch is in auto or on position. This proves the bulbs are still functional & it has an electronic defect.
After about 30mins of run time low beam lights would shut off. After the vehicle was parked for a min 30mins low beams would work again. Feb2013 low beams would not work at all.
When first starting the car the head light come on, after driving for about 20 min. And the engine gets hot the head lights go out and will not come back on. Dash board stes head lights suggested.
The low beam lights stopped working around September of last year the high beams and fog lamps do work. If the car is not turn on for about two or three weeks the lights do turn on for about 30 mins max and then shut down with any warning.
For no apparent reason, the front head lamps turned off at 10:45 pm. I was able to use the high beams, much to the dismay of oncoming cars, but no low beams. This scenario now repeats every time I drive the car at night. The low beam lights turn on normally, but turn off after about 30 minutes. I must then either use the daytime running lights or the high beams. Since they work normally when the car is cold, the issue seems to offer when ever the car achieves normal operating temperature. If I let it cool off, they work normally,,,for about 30 minutes.
My car started having intermittent low beam outages as I was driving. When I say intermittent, I mean not every time I was driving would the low beams go off. But when they did go off, they stayed off until the next day. Luckily my side lights and high beams continued to work. However, within the last three months, they go out probably 99% of the time. I recently googled this problem and saw where I'm not the only one having this problem with the 2005 Corvette.
