Tl the contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze. While driving 75 mph, the vehicle downshifted while stalling. The vehicle completely shut off and the "reducing power" and "diesel shutting off" warning indicators illuminated. The contact restarted the vehicle, but the failure recurred. The contact placed the vehicle in neutral while it was downshifting. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or independent mechanic for diagnostic testing or repairs. The manufacturer was made aware of the failures. The failure mileage was 97,000.
Unfortunately, this is the 3rd time that my 2014 chevy Cruze has this issue. My engine light stays on while the stabilock service flashes on the dashboard; car jerks while either idle and/or stopped; a loud squeaking noise from under the hood (all these issues always start at the same time!!). I have taken my car to chevy dealerships and they have (supposedly) replaced the same part - sham cover (according to my invoices). I totally don't get why this is a not a recall issue. It is very frustrating to take my car in for the same issue, and of course, now that the warranty has expired, I'm sure it will be even more costly. . . . Which I really think it will be the same thing! (of course, I'm not a mechanic, but if I'm taking my car in for the same reason and they diagnose it and repair that same part; I'm beginning to wonder. . . . Why even charge me for a diagnostic test when your chances are it's the same issue!!) is this a part that only last a maximum of so many miles? I purchased the car in 3/2015; and the 1st time I received service for this issue was 6/29/2015, and then again 2/24/2017. I'm so confused!!! :( come on gm ~ help us out please!!.
Vehicle hesitates when merging onto highway traffic. This began happening after I owned the car for more than 3 years without similar incidents. Its dangerous because just when you need power to merge, the power dips instead which is potentially likely to end in being rear-ended. Vehicle was taken to the chevy dealership where it was purchased. They kept it four days and stated they could find nothing wrong because they found no codes. They state it might be due to "turbo lag" which is normal. It is not normal as I have owned the car almost 4 years before this began happening.
Car was stolen left front end was damage. Paid 2500 for repair. Pick up car 07/27/2018. The was in the shop 03/2018. They the car back to me no air bags. No front for cover on the sterring wheel. They want to pay another 279. 00 for air bags. Now their a sound coming from under the car. I just don't have extra money insurance did pay off because I was not driving the car. The car do drive the same it keep cutting off. The speed is 20 to 40 it wontt go any higher and the engine is not shutting off. The is trying to zoom fast on its on. Iam really scare.
When going from park or a complete stop, the vehicle violently slams into gear and catastrophic failure is only around the corner. It also shifts like this when going back and forth between 4th and 5th. Doing a full trans flush seems to make the issue slightly better but always comes back to being violent again. After speaking with multiple mechanics they all recommend driving it till the trans fails or buying a new car. My car has 213k highway miles on it and the issue has been there since 100k miles (about 3 years ago). Another odd thing about it is that if you shift into manual mode while coasting to a stop and then shifting back to automatic after you exit the complete stop, it avoids the hard slam. The vehicle also shifts fine in manual mode from 4th to 5th. . Read more...
While trying to merge into traffic my vehicle engine speeds up to 7000 rpm but the car only gets up to about 28 mph. I have almost been rear ended because of this. Also I tried to pass other cars at first the car seemed as it had the power to pass but as I got at the side of the car I was passing with pedal on floor the transmission seemed to lose power and dog down. Almost causing me a head on collision . On the highway my car doesn't seem to have the power to pass cars unless going down hill. The cars engine speeds up but the transmission do not speed up so it just burns more gas. That I can not afford on disability. On June 8 2018 I took the car back to weimer Chevrolet in moorefield, wv, they told me everything was fine gave me a copy of the vehicle inspection they done. Other Cruze owners said they have the same problem I told them to call gm themselves to let them know of this problem. I spoke to a miguel at gm at customer service, he told me that a manager would be in touch with me . On June 26 2018, a gm manager called my cell phone and asked for my address , and a brief explanation of the cars issues e-mail address and the dealer info. I then on June 28 I got a email from a courtney at gm stating that they have been unable to contact me. Even though they have my home / cell numbers. And that if this matter is resolved do nothing but if not to call them, I tried to and got no answer so also sent a reply to their e-mail, stating that this matter has not been resolved and how dangerous these cars are. Once again no response from gm as of July 17. I feel as though gm does not care about my families or my safety in this matter with their lack of response . I 'm not sure how many others have reported to gm with their issues but I know mine is falling through the cracks. So if you can please help with this issue I would greatly appreciate it.
Engine oil cooler failure. Housing is leaking on outside of the engine block that part is bolted to. Not sure when leak started and if the vehicle was moving or stationary. This part was covered on 2011 and 2012 model but written out of warranty for 2013 and later models. Dealership keep inventory on this part due to frequent replacement needs. Chevrolet knew the part has problems instead of repairing the issue with the part they have removed it from powertrain warranty even though it is part of the powertrain. This repair cost over one thousand dollars on vehicles that are still under powertrain warranty. The water pump has special coverage adjustment ( https://www-odi. Nhtsa. Dot. Gov/acms/cs/jaxrs/download/doc/ucm507379/sb-10057265-3557. Pdf). I believe the issue with the oil cooler is very similar to the water pump issue. Going through Chevrolet Cruze talk forum and reading issue after issue online further shows mine is not an isolated incident.
The turbo/ super charger underboost has malfunctioned and is causing a significant repair cost.
"takara recall" my 14 chevy Cruze turbo when out, there is a recall on some of the 14 chevy Cruze but the cut off date was in March and my car was manufactured in June. Car has totaled loss of power and starting to smell oil burning.
While driving trying to accelerate cars hesitates than drives normally dealer claims car is fine was check by their mechanic before being sold. When driving on freeway to change lanes car hesitates when trying to accelerate. Feels like power is delayed.
No crank or start 13 body control module codes, control module bad or wiring short.
I have have to have a pcv value cover/intake manifold replaced in my car 3 times. My car is covered under warranty but that warranty will expire. I will have to have is replaced again at some and it seems that no one is asking why this part has to be replaced so frequently in a car that is less than 5 year old. There is a code that appears but it is months after the car starts to surge when you turn it on and feel like it is going to cut out when idling. I live in the city and cannot hesitate to drive when the light turns as it may cause an accident.
On 7/28/16 this manual transmission car would not go into reverse. A local chevy dealership replaced the shift cable to solve the problem. On 9/28/16, the car again would not go into reverse. The shift cable was replaced again. A few days later, no reverse. When checked out again, reverse worked! now this past week, it wouldn't shift into 3rd, 4th, or 5th gears while driving. While in 3rd, 4th or 5th gear, the tach rpm was jumping all over the dial. The car could only be driven in 2nd gear doing 15mph on a 50mph road. It subsequently stalled out. A day later it did not shift into any gear. Car back at dealership. Phone call reference # 1068173.
The car turns off while I am driving, no matter where I have had it turn off on the expressway and street while in drive and at times it the rpm idles while im at the stip like and parked. I have contacted chevy but they didn't want to honor the powertrain warranty and I was not to told not to come back to ron craft chevy. So I took it to miller auto body and repair, here in houston, they recommend that I replace the engine cover I did out of my own pocket even though its was supposed to be honored at the chevy dealership under powertrain. I still continue to drive the car but it still losses power and turns off while im driving. Last night the battery died, I replaced it with a new today but the car still shuts down and stops while I'm driving. I don't know what to do and why this is happening and why chevy isn't honoring the powertrain warranty on the faulty engine components, the stablility track stays and the check engine lights stays on and a traction lights stays on. I have done regular maintenance on this car every since I bought it, every maintenance inspections were all done by chevy, I just don't under stand why they play dumb when honoring my powertrain warranty.
The vehicle's def sensor went bad, resulting in the vehicle entering "limp mode" after 100 miles. As this vehicle is diesel, it is used to commute long distances (100 miles each way. ) this caused the vehicle to not be capable of driving a safe speed on the highway. This vehicle is less than 2 years old, no sensors should be going bad after two years. The "fix" provided by the manufacturer is to replace the whole def tank with a new updated tank (including sensor) and an accompanying module. As I drive relatively long distances, my warranty is up, resulting in this "fix" to come out of my pocket. After reviewing many online forums, it appears that this is a common issue.
The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze. While accelerating from a stop, the vehicle surged forward inadvertently at different times. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed, but the failure could not be duplicated. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 12,386.
My car loses acceleration when driving. It almost stops in the middle of the street. I am trying to go but when I put my foot on the gas it doesn't go. I hear something underneath when I try to put my put on the gas.
Transmission downshifting harshly from 4-3 then 3-2. Throws you forward and I feel like I have whiplash from it. Took it to chevy dealer twice and they said its fine. It is not fine.
Steering link slipping when turning. VIN# (xxxxxx) parts of this document have been redacted to protect personally identifiable information pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
I bought a 2014 chevy Cruze last year. 2 days ago the 'service stabilitrak' light came on and the car started hesitating and jerking. We took it in the next day for service and they told us that there may be a recall pending, but because the light had gone back off they wouldn't do anything about it. I am afraid of this happening again while in traffic, and im not sure what to do next. They need to do a recall ASAP on this system before someone is injured. We feel very unsafe with this issue possibly happening again, but the dealer will not do anything unless it does happen again.
Letter from congresswoman comstock on behalf of constituent re chevy cruz engineering failure of the construction of the vehicle. However, on February 1, 2016, the vehicle lost all power while driving on the highway. The vehicle was towed to the dealer.
Car will randomly turn off while driving. Sometimes it s full engine and power failure and sometimes it is just engine failure and accessories still stay on . This has happened since the car was new and has been looked into by several chevy dealers in my area. Autonation told me he had several other chevys that did the same thing.

Looses power when sitting at light, doesn't quite shut off, constant belt squealing, engine light coming on, taken back to dealership on 3/21/15 because the engine light came back on, belt still squealing, engine still hesitating and losing power. Dealership replaced knock sensor and drive belt tensioner. Taken back on April 3, squealing still, making a loud sound when you turn the car off, still having hesitation problems. Dealership replaced water pump and harmonic balancer. Taken back again, still hesitating, dying down in power still, making sound when you shut the engine off still. Taken back again, replaced seal in engine that was being sucked into intake. Still having problems with hesitation, power dying down and no pick up or acceleration.
Can't remove key when car is in park. Two different times now. Also car with 900 miles on it failed to start and key was stuck this time also. Tow truck driver called, he also could not remove key. Checked car for anything left on, found nothing. Jumped car, it started, he moved the shifter lever roughly several times, key came out. Told us not to turn car off and take it to dealership. Driver thought battery was bad also. Took car in. They kept car three days. Were told twice by service man battery had a bad cell. When called to pick up car, service told us we must have left something on. That nothing was wrong. And we must not have shifter in park. Left dealership, no battery replaced, no real answer to why key did't come out. Did not even put car on a charger to get battery back to 100%.
After purchasing the 2014 Cruze on July 29, 2014, I drove it to my residence which was for 6 miles and parked in my driveway. I placed the shift level in the park position and set the emergency brake. My grand daughter, age 16, asked if she could test drive the car. After entering the vehicle, she released the emergency brake and attempted to start it. The car would not start and unknown to her while attempting to start, the vehicle slowly went backwards into the street. The shift lever in the vehicle was stuck in park and would not move and it would not start. I called on star and asked them to run a test on the car to see what was wrong with it. The lady came back with no known problems from their test. I asked and she called a tow truck to return the vehicle to the dealer. The Cruze was repaired the next day. The problem was identified with a defective shift cable. The casing around the shift cable at the transmission cracked causing cable not to release leaving transmission in free mode. I was upset and angry with the dealership and gm because the vehicle broke down in the first 6 miles. I then checked for recalls on the vehicle and found gm recall number 14048 and NHTSA recall 14v092, which identified my defect exactly, but did not include my VIN in the recall order. I called gm and expressed my concerns they assigned a case number and a very nice lady called and asked what would make me happy. My main concern was the safety of my family and other people who have bought the Cruze with a defective shift lever cable. Once a part is identified as defective it should no longer be used and it should be replaced on all manufactured vehicles. I was offered a replacement vehicle by the dealership and gm but I declined the offer.

The vehicle independently pulled into the right direction. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer. The technician inspected the vehicle and informed that the failure was related to a recall associated with NHTSA campaign id number 13v452000 (power train). Purchased 2014 chevy Cruze from mark newcomer at grey Chevrolet on 27 October 2013. Found out in November there was an active recall on the half shaft. (error number one: in accordance with the NHTSA the car shouldn't have been sold to us). Repair work done in November. In March a recall on the recall was announced. Grey did not call us, we called them. Car inspected 9 April 2014, we were informed we would in fact need the half shaft replaced again. They said our car was completely safe to drive and nothing would happen. (error number two: per NHTSA we shouldn't have been allowed to leave the lot with the car, we should've been given a rental immediately). 5 may 2014, the half shaft broke as I was driving our son to school and sent us backwards down a hill. I fear for the safety of others purchasing cars from grey, as they do not appear to abide by NHTSA guidelines. The car has since been repaired, by another dealership. Meanwhile, I have 3 voicemails and an email from various grey employees openly saying the car shouldn't have been sold to us and we shouldn't have been allowed to leave the lot after the 2nd inspection, but basically "OH well. " this cavalier attitude frightens me quite frankly. Also, upon looking at the initial work order for the half shaft repair that was done in November, it appears as though they dated it for the date of purchase, which would've been impossible because it was a Sunday and they had no service employees present.
At the end of December 2013 I purchased a 2014 chevy Cruze turbo diesel. Shortly after buying this vehicle I discovered there as a problem with the excessive torque and the braking system and hair trigger brake release. When releasing the brake this car would leap forward in an unsafe manner. This would happen when releasing the brake slightly. Releasing the brake a quarter of an inch or less was sufficient. I am not talking about my foot slipping off the brake pedal. The high rpm's and torque is not a good match with this particular automatic transmission. I am sure a standard transmission would be a better match. After my car jumped out into a major street and almost caused an accident I took my vehicle to my local dealership. The dealership examined my car and came up with the bellowing results: brakes feel normal for vehicle. 4 wheel disc and has electric vacuum pump. No repairs required at this time. Idle normal for present time, ecm will rise idle at certain time like cold start compensate for battery draw of glow plugs?. By the way the above incident occurred when the car was normal operating temperature. As a result I immediately traded this vehicle (1500 miles were on the odometer) for a different brand. It would be nice if your engineers could look into this matter to avoid future incidents with other chevy cruz owners. I am very concerned over the safety of this vehicle. Thanks.
