One problem related to electric power assist steering system has been reported for the 2007 Chevrolet Equinox. The most recently reported issues are listed below. Power steering failure. Immediately after start up power steering did not operate. Dashboard warning read service stabilitrack. Drove home approximately 8 miles without power assist. After restarting the vehicle at home power steering appeared to be normal, but service stabilitrack warning was still lit. A quick look on the internet showed multiple instances of this problem in Chevrolet malibu with similar power steering. Car will be brought to dealer next week. This is a safety issue.
