When I turn off my Chevrolet Equinox and leave the key in the ignition the vehicle attempts to restart itself numerous times. The lights on the dash all come on for a brief moment and you can hear it act like it’s going to start but then everything cuts off a second later. This has occurred everytime I turn my vehicle off and do not remove the key. I am always sitting in the vehicle when the key is in the ignition.
Engine cylinders & seals are faulty and easily crack causing the car to stop /stall while in drive! I nearly hit a semi-truck because the car stoped mid drive and the car jerked so hard that the wheel jerked to the side and then locked!! as the car continued to glide in a circle because it didnt stop all the way I could not turn the wheel to avoid the semi, what saved my life was the clear road that allowed the semi to go around me!! my car literally sat in the middle of the street across the yellow line! this issue persists and corrupts the entire fuel system, catalytic conveyer, resonator, and timing chain simultaneously! this causes each owner to replace the entire engine because it simply can not be fixed. Fixing or repairing one of the components does not fix the issue or stop the engine from failing, all must be replaced! even after replacing it all the same thing happens to the new engine! this is a engine malfunction. The entire car/engine/blueprint should be destroyed and recalled!!! even the mechanics and dealers are asking why these vehicles still exist and saying that the engine for this car is junk and it’s so common for this to happen to the point that there are no used engines for under $2500!!! majority of the mechanics are even refusing to repair/replace the engine in this car because it’s a waste of time & money because the next engine new or used will do the same exact thing!! no one is going to pay $10,000+ for a new engine or even $2500+ for a used engine plus $2000+ for labor only for the same exact problem to happen after spending $5000 - $12000+.
Reported to GMC about how my car radio goes out, a/c would turn itself on and blow hot air also the door locking itself after being unlocked. I was told there were no issues reported on what I was calling for to only read simething different online. So I took it to the dealership and told them how air went from working to not working and took to dealership and was told I had a leak in my evaporator core. I informed them I had the freon checked and the level was correct and also it didn't need to be charged but the compressor wasn't coming on. Also called an independent mechanic who said that year was full of issues and if my levels were correct that I didn't have a leak but something else going on. Took to dealership on 5/16 also called mechanic the same day. I made the appointment last Thursday for the dealership to look at after noticing the problem.
The contact owns a 2010 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated while driving 45 mph, the vehicle temporarily lost electrical power inadvertently. The were no warning lights illuminated. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The contact referenced NHTSA campaign number: 09v489000 (visibility). The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 103,000.
Car consumes entirely to much oil. Every week I am putting 2 quarts of oil in even after getting a fresh oil change. Engine is loud/rattling has been ever since I purchased the car. I have been putting money in this car since I purchased it. Now check engine light is on. Says I need a new timing from what I am being told that is basically a new engine. The radio goes out and comes back on, yesterday the volume on the radio was going up & down by itself. The main issue is a engine and the oil. There is no way this is a known issue with almost every compliant that I have seen so far and there has been no recall on this how insane. I will never purchase another car from gm again! the windshield wiper motor went out twice, this is a overall terrible engine and car. The car is loud when it is running and when you accelerate, turn the car all of the above. I had the muffler and some other things fixed and it's still loud, the noise is coming from the engine.
The contact owns a 2010 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the turn signals and the speed odometer were inoperable. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The contact was informed that there were no open recalls on the VIN for the failure. Additionally, the contact was advised to take the vehicle where the vehicle was purchased for the repair. The contact stated that the vehicle had several failures since purchasing the vehicle three years ago. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
My vehicle won't start due to cpu and electrical malfunctioning and my loan warranty wouldn't cover the damages and I only had the car for 3 months mileage is under 105000. My negative terminal cable pops off my vehicle shuts down randomly, check engine light cuts on when I hit 3 rpms.
A couple of days ago I started experiencing issues with vehicle. At speeds over 60 the steering wheel would shake and when coming to a stop the car would do a rocking motion. Today on the highway the car was driving fine than randomly a light popped on that said low oil consumption turn off engine and the car began excessively smoking from under hood. I pulled over and checked I the oil and it was empty added 4 quarts it was still empty looked under car and oil had leaked everywhere. No prior warning lights or check oil or low oil pressure lights were on. I get proper oil changes when due. A couple of moths back I was having several electrical issues with the vehicle as well were the lights on the dash would pop on and off air and radio would turn itself on and off, doors locking and unlocking etc. And took it to a certified chevy dealer to have it checked and have the issue fixed and these issues were months after I had the transmission replaced after it fails months after purchasing g the car.
No defrost/heat. All electronics turn off it does not matter highway/city. When traction control engages dash will cut off and I have to restart. I have had my car just lose power for no reason highway or city. This thing is not safe! I know the date states 12/31/2019. However I have dealing with this since I got this thing.
I bought this truck but they are saying they fixed stuff that nobody has touched. Attached will be their recall. And second a photo showing nobody fixed it, little lone touched it for repair. Scamming customers. I cannot get my tires to sync to the vehicle either. Both safety.
My car started itself when the key was in my pocket and I was at the rear of the car unloading. I do not have a keyless entry or starting feature on my car. I was parked at our community garden and my daughter and I were unloading garden tools, so we were touching the car and felt it when it fired up. It was an underwear changing moment.
Tl the contact owns a 2010 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact took the vehicle to be serviced per a manufacturer recall regarding fuel consumption at bill stasek Chevrolet (700 w dundee rd, wheeling, IL 60090, (224) 434-4677). Prior to the recall, the contact stated that the defroster, heater, instrument panel lighting, and radio controls became inoperative intermittently. The contact asked the dealer to remedy the failures; however, they could not be duplicated. The defects were never remedied. The contact discovered NHTSA campaign number: 09v489000(visibility), which she associated with the failures. The dealer stated that the VIN was excluded from the recall. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failures. The failure mileage was approximately 56,000.
Car will stop after pressing the break. Wipers no longer work. Now car won't start due to timing belt.
2 days after driving this 2010 chevy Equinox off the lot. The power steering pump goes out. The power steering had a winding noise since it was replaced, and they told me there may just be air in the line. After riving it that way for a month took it in to get that looked at and they ended up replacing that and said it was a faulty pump. Then days later one of the tire sensors goes out. Had that replaced! then a few hours after driving it that same tire sensor goes out again. This is the worst vehicle that general motors as made!!!!! it had new tires when we bought this vehicle and not even 8 months the two rear tires were making the rear end slide all over the road and after investigating the problem I found the two rear tires had wires showing on the inside of the wheel tread all the way around the wheels. Take it in and the mechanic said it was because we didn't have a tire rotation! well, after replacing the tires, then 6 months down the road the new tires are in the exact same place just on the rear tires. There is no way that you need to have a tire rotation that often. Had them replaced once again. The heat stopped working and only blows cold air! found out that these vehicles are known for this issue. That sensor up under the glove box isn't strong enough to open/close the vent to keep regulating the heat control. Now, the 2nd set of tires have the same wires going around the tires!!!!! major safety issue! if, gm doesn't do something about these issues they are going to be facing a lot of lawsuits or customers going elsewhere. Now the wipers stopped working and like the control arms fell off under the outer dash area!!!! take these vehicles straight to the junkyards. Oh, and the stability trac control issue has happened as well were the vehicle loses all power in the middle of a four-lane freeway!!!.
Tl the contact owns a 2010 Chevrolet Equinox. While driving 70 mph, the vehicle began to decelerate and came to a complete stop. The contact depressed the accelerator pedal, but the vehicle failed to move. An independent mechanic was contacted to assist with repairing the vehicle onsite. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 152,000.
Vehicle was stopped at intersection. Vehicle would not move after using accelerator, and the engine continued to run at higher rpm. I was able to move after shutting off and restarting the vehicle. During the same drive I also had trouble shifting from 1st to 2nd gear with high rpm before a moderately hard shift while accelerating after a stop. Amber check engine, brake, and abm lights all lit. Vehicle is currently with mechanic for diagnosis and repair.
The climate controls, including the seat warmers, located on the control panel directly below the radio/stereo controls on my 2010 chevy Equinox stopped working. As a result, the ability to control the temperature and direction of heated/cooled air was lost. I tolerated the conditions for several seasons, winter being the toughest due to temp and the need for defrost, until buying a new car (as an addition, not a replacement vehicle). As my oldest child became of age to begin driving, I've attempted to prepare the car for his driving and safety. In researching how to repair this malfunction, I came across a recall that addresses this exact problem; however, upon taking my chevy Equinox to my local chevy dealership, I discovered that my VIN is not on the list for this repair. The coincidence that my car falls in the category of vehicles included for this recall (bulletin no. : 09298c), but is not included is confusing, to say the least. There were no warning lamps or messages prior to this failure that began in 2019.
Original recall 09 v4 89000 was supposed to have fixed visibility issue. Car was taken in at the time of the original recall. The vehicle is showing symptoms of the exact same issue as before where defroster is no longer working because of controls not functioning. Radio is also out along with possible other unknown electrical issues. We've turn the car on and off several times hoping it was just a glitch, however it appears the problems of the first recall are back again. Driving the vehicle pose a threat has we live in weather we're having to have control over the defrosting is needed. Defroster and panel do not work because of lack of electrical control. My worry is that this is systemic, the the issue is reoccurring, every so years or so, that other issues will continually make this an issue in the future.
Instrument computer mailfuctionin. Light and controls stop working and nothing on radio lights up. Radio screen and ac/heat controls not function properly. Checked there was a recall previously.
My ignition when I tuen my key back to turn off my car it tries to start back up again by itself it has happened about 7 or 8 times now. I have been asking around what that coold be and I get in response that it could be the electrical system or the ignition. And I still have 3 yrs to pay for this car.
2010 chevy Equinox ltz windshield failure! Wednesday night, may 2, 2018, I was driving home from the four winds casino, south bend, in, it was pouring down rain. . . When I got into mishawaka, in, my windshield wipers suddenly stopped and lodged to the left of the drivers side! I got out of the car, pushed the wipers back down in there proper place and I could hear the motor running! I got back into the car and turned on the wipers several times, they would not budge. . . I took the Equinox into basney Honda on Thursday, may 3, 2018 and they inspected the vehicle. They told me the windshield motor and transmission assembly needed to be replaced! I bought this SUV in March from basney Honda! I have only had the car a couple of months and problems already? this is very dangerous, plus, the cost of repair! total cost= $453. 43. Also, my research shows many recalls on this same issue by gm! many complaints by consumers! why does this keep happening, and why has this not been addressed? no wonder no one wants to buy a chevy! when I purchased my 2002 Toyota camry solara used in 2010, it was years before I had any repairs! never a windshield issue like this. . . Never! I thought I had made a good choice buying this chevy Equinox SUV, liking it a lot, but, now, I am looking to get another Toyota, Honda, Nissan or Mazda and trade this one in! I have called a certified chevy dealer to have an inspection and diagnostic done on Thursday, may 10, 2018. After that, I will call the chevy recall number for further assistance! this is a very dangerous safety hazard! I could not see! I could have had an accident and ran off the road, or worse yet, been killed or killed someone else! I hope I can get reimbursed the cost of this repair!.
Tl - the contact owns a 2010 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that when the vehicle was turned on there is an abnormal noise coming from the dashboard. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic were it was diagnosed that the blend door motors needed to be replaced but the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and stated there is nothing that could be done. The failure mileage was approximately 79,000. Jc.
I could not turn on my defrost on while I was driving I had to pull over and wait for it to kick back on so it could defrost enough for me to see where I was going to get home I have the videos.
Stabilitrak service light is on and abs light is on.
I bought the car 2 years ago, in which the vehicle had/has nonconformed issues since the immediately after the sale of purchase. The car has been in the shop (and is currently there) for 2 years. I have been paying for my own transportation(lyft, car rentals, etc) in addition to my car payments for over a year.
Visibility: defroster/defogger 2009-12-18 recall#09v489000 software computer module center console will malfunction causing the radio, heater, radio, a/c and defroster to quick working. Putting the vehicle to be a safety hazard when not working, can result in crash without warning. Dealer refuses to fix.
Car looses power while driving.
Having transmission problems , it wont drive frontwards .
Since I purchased this vehicle, I constantly get a "service airbag" message on my dashboard. I have notified the dealer as well as gm/chevorlet by phone and was told that unfortunately there is no recall for this. I took my car to the dealer in which I purchased and since they did not see the message they said there is nothing they can do. I fear (god forbid) being in an accident and the airbag does not deploy. I do travel with my children in which one of the 3 is a toddler. Is there anything that can be done. - also which is very annoying my key gets stuck in the ignition. Now I have 2 sets of keys one gets stuck more than the other, but there are times where I have to spend hours trying to remove it - I took it to the dealer but once again was told nothing is wrong with this. I have seen numerous videos and forums with the same complaint. Needles to say I would never purchase a chevy again! too many issues for a car that I've only had a few years.
Car only has 89k miles and it's having issues when it's accelerating and switching gears. It also stalls often while in motion. Also having an issue with my defroster controller. Seems like this is a recall in the same year and model but my VIN doesn't qualify.
The contact owns a 2010 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that the vehicle was able to be in motion without the key in the ignition. Also, when the gear was shifted into park, it was not fully in gear so the contact constantly had to check. The VIN was excluded from NHTSA campaign number: 16v502000 (electrical system, power train). In addition, water entered various areas of the vehicle and the electronic stability traction control warning indicator randomly illuminated. The vehicle also rolled backward and forward without warning and the hatch came down unexpectedly. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was notified of the multiple failures. The failure mileage was not available.
The car shuts off by its self can't pick up speed I can be at a light and the car will jurk and try to pull of and can go no mrs. Than 15mh.
The radio will not turn on when I start the vehicle. It is not until 10 minutes later that the radio will finally turn on and work properly. This also effects the turn signals and hazard lights. I feel that with the fact the turn signals do not work this is a safety hazard and a recall needs to be issued to fix this problem. This started in my driveway.
Tl- the contact owns a 2010 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled while driving 40 mph. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the ignition malfunctioned and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle mileage was approximately 70,800. Kh.
Audible tone volume for seat belt unbuckled, door ajar, key left in ignition, turn indicator, etc intermittently reduces to a level that may be barely be heard. Next time it may or may not be restored restored to normal. Problem is random, sometimes lasting for entire trip but is normal on next trip. I have seen this problem listed on various internet automobile problem sites but not on your site.
